(p. 444) caluva or చలవ ṭsaluva. [Tel.] n. Coolness, coldness, cold, శైత్యము. Any thing of a cooling or refreshing nature, such as beneficence, liberality, benignity. Bleaching, a bleaching green. Clothes newly washed. ఉదికినబట్ట. adj. Cold, cooling, comfortable, bleached. white. చలువచేయు ṭsaluva-chēyu. v. t. To bleach, as cloth. To cool the body. చలువడి ṭsaluvaḍi. n. Coolness, cool air. శైత్యము. చలువమిరియము ṭsaluva-miriya-mu. n. Long pepper, cubebs. తోకమిరియము. చలువరాయి ṭsaluva-rāyi. n. White marble, alabaster. చంద్రకాంతము. చలువరేడు ṭsaluva-rēḍu. n. The moon చల్ది ṭsaldi. See చలి. వానికి చలువలు కమ్మినవి a chill came over him, i.e., he is deadly cold or in the extremity of death. చలవపందిలి ṭsalava-pandili. n. A canopy, or triumphal arch, an ornamented booth for an idol. చలువచప్పరపుకోళ్లమంచము a comfortable bed decked out with a coverlet, tilt and pillars. చలువజ్యోతి ṭsaluva-jyōti. n.
