A frog. ఉరుకుకప్ప or చిరికప్ప a chunam frog or flying frog. బోదురుకప్ప the bull frog. తలకప్ప a tadpole. బాపనకప్ప a frog that in croaking produces a sound like పప్పు పప్పు. కంసాలికప్ప one that produces a sound like tick, tuck. చాకలికప్ప one that produces a sound like ugm, ugm. రాచకప్ప and గోదురుకప్ప are other species. A small frog, the wall frog, chunam frog or flying frog. చిరికూర chiri-kūra. n. A herb called Amaranthus polygonoides. Rox. iii. 602. చిరికొండి chiri-konḍi. n. A small knot చిన్నసిగ. చిరిట chiriṭa. n. The stopper of a bottle. చిరితాళము chiri-tālamu. n. A small lock or bell. చిటితాళము. Dazzling, radiance, swimming of the eyes: మిరుమిట్లు. నా కన్నులకు చిరుతలు కమ్మనివి or చిరుతలు పారినవి my eyes are dazzled. చిరుత, చిరుతపులి or చిరుతగండు. n. A hunting leopard, commonly called a Cheeta. Cyṇœlurus jubalus. The leopard or Panther, Felis pardus. (F.B.I.). చిరుతిండి or చిరుదిండి chiru-tinḍi. n. A cluster గుంపు, సమూహము. ఈ పిండి తుట్టెకట్టిపోయినది this meal has run into lumps. తుట్టె తోడిచిరివేరు rough chay root that is uncleaned. See తుట్ట. తుట్టెపురుగు tuṭṭe-purugu. n. A sort of venomous snake barred black and grey. 'ఈ తుట్టెపురుగులేమగు నీతేజీవచ్చినపుడు.' రామా. viii.

(p. 818) pōḍu pōḍu. [Tel.] n. A down, a piece of scrub, jungle covered with bushes, land cleared from jungle for the purpose of cultivation, as కొండపోళ్లు. పోడుకొట్టు to clear away brushwood, to remove underwood, చేసికొరకు చెట్లునరికివేయు. చిరివేరుపోళ్లు Chayroot grounds, చాయవేళ్లు పైరగుభూమి.

There are various species called ఇనుమద్ది, పూడుమద్ది, ఏరుమద్ది, ఎల్లమద్ది or చిరిమాను and దూదిమద్ది, Bricdelia retusa. మద్దికాయలు maddi-kāyalu. n. The fruit of the tree. A kind of earrings worn by boys.
