(p. 631) naḍumu naḍumu. [Tel.] n. The middle, the waist, or loins. కాను. The middle portion మధ్యబాగము. నడుముకట్టుకొను naḍumu-kaṭṭu-konu. v. n. To undertake, to make oneself ready. To gird up the loins, to be ready. సిద్ధపడు. To take a vow of chastity, నడుమంతరము or నడుమంత్రము naḍu-mantaramu. (నడుము+అంతరము.) adj. Extraordinary, unprecedented, unthought of, as a windfall. n. The waist, కొను. An interval, మధ్యకాలము. adj. Middling, neither here nor there. నడమంతరపేరు an alias. నడమంతరపు ఐశ్వర్యమునకును వరము మీది పుండునకును చురుకు అధికము those who have recently become rich and an ulcer on a nerve give great trouble. నడమంతరముగా nada-mantaramu-gā. adv. Unexpectedly. నడుచొచ్చు naḍu-ṭsoṭsṭsu. v. n. To come in the middle, to interpose, నడుమ ప్రవేశించు. నడుదింపు naḍu-dimpu. n. The flesh in the loins. మాంసవిశేషము. నడుములో చెక్కు to pocket, because they stick a handkerchief, &c., in at the girdle. నడుముపడిన gone in the loins, broken down, debilitated. నడుము వదిలినది there was an emission of semen. నడుమ or నడమ naḍuma. adj. Middle, centrical. నడుమును. adj. and postp. In the middle, meanwhile,. through, between. ఈ నడుమ presently: (also) lately. ఆ నడుమ meantime. నడమ వచ్చినారు they came between or interposed; they came as messengers or representatives. నడుమ వచ్చినవానికి ఇంత అధికారమా is an interloper to presume thus? నడుమ మాట్లాడు to interrupt one while speaking: or to intercede, to mediate. నడాన or నడుమను nadāna. adv. Fury, wrath, కోపము. దానిని చూస్తే నాకు మంటవస్తున్నది I am provoked at seeing it. కడుపు మంట envy. కడుపుమంట తీర తిట్టినాడు he cursed till his rage was exhausted. కడుపుమంటమాటలు ఎందుకు వింటావు why do you listen to envious language? మంటచమురు or మంటనూనె manṭa-ṭsamuru. n. Burning oil. మంటనెయ్యి hot ghee. మంటమారి or మంటలమారి a peevish or pestilent fellow, కోపశీలుడు; an envious man, ఓర్వలేనివాడు.

(p. 935) maṇḍu manḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To burn, blaze, flame. జ్వలించు. To smart, or give acute pain. చురుక్కుమని నొప్పిపెట్టు. To be in a fury or violent rage. కోపము మొదలగు వానిచేత తపించు. నా కండ్లు మండుచున్నవి my eyes are smarting or burning. అయ్యా నా కడుపు మండుచున్నదే alas! I am much grieved. ఈ మాట వింటే వానికి ఒళ్లు మండదా if he hears of this, will he not be in a fury? మండునెల manḍu-nela. n. A hot month, the hot weather వసంతఋతువు. మండించు manḍinṭsu. v. n. To provoke irritate, stir up.

(p. 1039) moddu moddu. [Tel. from మోడు.] n. A block, stump, pollard, lump, mass. స్థాణువు, మోడు. A blockhead. జడుడు, జడురాలు. 'వెర్రిమొద్దుకేల వేదశాస్త్రంబులు.' Vēma. 1073. ఎద్దుమొద్దు స్వరూపముగానుండేవాడు a mere brute, a blockhead. adj. Blunt, not sharp, పదునులేని. Stout, thick, లావైన. మొద్దుపెదవులు thick lips. (p. 1204) veṅgali , వెంగళి or వెకలి vengali. [from Skt. వికలు.] n. An ignorant man, మూఢుడు. A stupid man, జడడు. A mad man, fool, idiot. వెర్రివాడు, అవివేకి.
