(p. 217) ōḍu ōḍu. [Tel.] v. n. or v. a. To fail, lose, to be defeated or worsted, అపజయపడు. To flow or be lost, as blood, పారు. To shrink, hesitate, fall back భయపడు, సంకోచించు. ఆట ఓడినాడు he lost the game. జీవహింసకోడి shrinking or hesitating to take away life. ఓడుపడు to be frightened. వర్రు ఓడ అనగా ప్రవాహముగా పారు to rush, as a flood. M. Xiii. ii. 451. మీమోము చూడనోడి unable to look you in the face. ఓడకోడకు fly not! flee not.

(p. 593) didṛkṣa didṛiksha. [Skt.] n. A desire to see. చూడనిచ్ఛ. దిదృక్షువు didṛikshuvu. n. One who desires to see. చూడనిచ్ఛగలవాడు.

(p. 681) nērucu or నేర్చు nēruṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To learn. Added to other infinitives it is translated by the English verb Can. రానేరను I cannot come. తెలియనేరరైరి they were unable to know. చూడనేర్తునే can I bear to see it? నేర్చినేర్చి మాట్లాడుతాడు he is talkative or chatters. నేరక nēraka. adj. Being unable to. రాజరక being unable to come. adv. Unawares, unconsciously, involuntarily. నేర్చినేరక చేసినపని an act committed unconsciously or ignorantly. నేరకచేసినాను I did it unintentionally or unconsciously. నేరరు they cannot do it. 'నీవు ఇచ్చిన శాపంబు గ్రమ్మరింపనేర్తేని గ్రమ్మరింపుము.' M. I. i. 150. నేరబోతు nēra-bōtu. (నేరమి+పోతు.) n. An ignorant man, తెలియనివాడు. నేరమి nērami. n. Ignorance. అజ్ఙానము A mistake, fault, దోషము. అడనేరమి ignorance of acting, want of power to act. పాడనేరమి inability to sing. నేరము nēramu. n. A criminal offence, a crime. తప్పు, అపరాధము. నేరస్థుడు nērasthuḍu. n. A criminal, an offender. నేరిమి nērimi. n. Knowledge, skill, dexterity. నేర్పు, సామర్థ్యము. నేరుచుకొను, నేర్చుకొను or నేర్చికొను nēruṭsu-konu. v. a. To learn. నేరుపరి, నేర్పరి, నేరుపుకాడు, నేర్పుకాడు or నేరుపులాడు nērup-ari. n. A wit, an ingenious or skilful person, a genius. సమర్థుడు. నేరుపు or నేర్పు nērupu. v. a. To teach, నేరవజేయు. n. Art, skill, craft, cunning. A pretext. నేర్పులు arts, wiles, contrivances. నేరుపుగా or నేర్పుగా nērupu-gā. adv. Artfully, duly, skilfully. నేర్పించు nērpinṭsu. v. a. To make one learn, to teach, to cause to teach.

(p. 752) piccaṭillu piṭsṭsaṭillu. v. n. To quake, shudder, &c. 'నచ్చెమురభేది ధర పిచ్చటిల సైన్యములు హెచ్చి నడవన్ రిపులు రిచ్చపడిచూడన్.' Adilakshimi Vilāsam. iv. 123.

(p. 1007) munumu or మున్ము munumu. [Tel.] n. A field of grain, of which part has been cut. కోయగా మిగిలిన చేను. The extent of a crop selected to be reaped, పైరుకోతకేర్పరుచుకొన్నమితి. The front or van of an army; any thing opposite. సేవాముఖము, ఎదుటిది, ఎదురు, ఎదుటిచోటు. Thickness, తరుచుదనము. A series, వరుస. adj. Thick, తరుచైన. మునుముకొను munumu-konu. v. n. To form a series, వరుసపెట్టు. మునుమిడి munum-iḍi. adv. Well, properly, చక్కగా, బాగుగా. 'మూడులోకంబుల మునుమిడిమీరు, చూడనియట్టిరాజులు మరిలేరు.' HD. i. 113.

(p. 1341) sunna sunna [from Skt. శూన్యమ్.] n. A cipher. Nothing, nonentity. నాస్తి, అభావము. A dot. The Anusvara or circle used for a nasal letter, as అండము for అణ్ణము. అనుస్వారము.' నిలుకడనున్న నావినహినెస్తమునాస్తి.' T. iv. 17. 'చూడనికమానధైర్యముల్ సున్నలనుచు.' A. v. 163. ఆ పిల్లకాయ సున్నలుచుట్టుచున్నాడు the boy is in round hand. An epigram says, 'ఆఢ్యుడొక్కడున్న నందరుపూజ్యులే లెక్కమీదసున్నలెక్కినట్లు, అతడు పోవువెనుక నందరుపూజ్యులే లెక్క చెంపనున్న లెక్కినట్లు.' సున్నగిలు or సున్నగిల్లు sunna-gilu. v. n. To become round, గుండ్రమగు. సున్నపెట్టు sunna-peṭṭu. v. a. To mark with a cipher, to draw a circlet round a thing; to dupe, elude, cheat. అనుస్వారమును వ్రాయు, వంచించు.' సొరదినిందరి కనుగట్టినున్న పెట్టి నేనునినుజేర.' Ila. iv. 103.
