(p. 32) aṭṭu or అట్టుగా aṭṭu. [Tel.] adv. (A particle) So that, as, according to. అతడు వచ్చేటట్టు వ్రాయుము write a letter so that he may come. మీరు చెప్పినట్టుగా చేస్తిని I did as you bid me. ఆయన చెప్పినట్టు according to his order. వాడు ఇంకా అవతలకు పోవునట్టు అగుపడ్డాడు he seemed as though he would go further. నేను చెప్పినట్టు చేసినాడు he did as I said. వారు సాగిపోయినట్టుగా చెప్పెను he said that they had passed on. అట్టు గాక or అట్లాకాక aṭṭugāka. adv. Without being so. అట్టుల aṭṭula. adv. As soon as, soon after. వెంటనే. 'చెట్టు దిగి వచ్చినట్టుల.' H. ii. 47. Just as. ఆప్రకారము. అట్టే (for అట్లాగే) aṭṭē. [Tel.] adv. Thus. So. In the same manner, as it was. అట్టే ఉండనీ leave it as it is. నొప్పి అట్టే ఉన్నది the pain is in the same state. అట్టే పోయినాడు he went off straightway. అట్టే మాట్లాడుతూ ఉండినాడు he was talking straight on. ఆ గుర్రములట్టే ఉన్నవి the horses are as they were: they are untouched.

(p. 52) ani ani. [Tel.] (Past p|| of అను to say) Having said. This is translated by the word 'That' or 'so' or the infinitive mood is used, as వారు అక్కడ ఉండినారని అన్నాడు he told me that they were there. అవతల వెళ్లరాదని తిరిగీ వస్తిమి we did not think it right to go on and returned; we thought we must not go further; so we came back. నన్ను పొమ్మని చెప్పెను he told me to go. తన సొమ్మని యెంచి considering it his own. దాన్ని నాకని కొన్నాడు he bought it for me. కావలెనని అక్కడికి పోయినాడు he went there on purpose. పండ్లను పటపటమని కొరికినాడు he gnashed his teeth. ఘమ్మని fragrantly. తళుక్కని brilliantly. గడగడమని మాట్లాడినాడు he spoke rapidly. ఈగలు జుమ్మని ముసురు కొన్నవి the flies covered it buzzingly. నీవు ఈ శాలువ కప్పుకొంటే గుమ్మని ఉండును if you wear this shawl it feels warm: or, you will feel warm.

(p. 136) idi idi. [Tel.] pron. She, it, this. The 6th case is దీని and the acc. దీనిని as దీని నెరిగింపు declare this. The abl. is దీన or దీనిచేత 'hereby.' plu. ఇవి నాకు చాలా ఇదిగానున్నది I am very much out of sorts. ఆ నడత బహు యిదిగా నున్నది that conduct is not the thing, is so and so. ఇదిగో, or ఇదుగో idigō [ఇది+కొమ్ము lit take this] interj. Look! do you see! behold! here it is! ఇదుగో యిస్తాను అదుగో యిస్తున్నానని అంటాడు he puts me off with empty promises Lit. Here I will give it, there I will give it, says he. ఇదుగో వస్తానని చెప్పెను or ఇదుగో వచ్చెదననెను he promised to return presently. ఇదె Same as ఇదిగో.

(p. 352) gaḍiya gaḍiya. [Tel.] n. A bolt or bar. గడెమ్రాను. గడియజేయు to bolt or fasten a bolt. గడియకన్నము a hole bored by a thief, through which he puts his hand to draw back the bolt. గడియ or ఘడియ n. A Hindu hour which consists of twenty four English minutes, and thus forms the sixtieth part of a day. గడియకు ఒక మాట చెప్పెను he changed his opinion hourly. గడియ యేడైయుండగా each hour seemed a year. గడియారము gaḍiyā-ramu. n. A clock, originally a cup for measuring the hours by sinking in water. జేబుగడియారము a watch.

(p. 429) ceppu cheppu. [Tel.] v. a. To say, tell. To teach, to speak of. To write or compose a poem. To describe, tell of. To term, call, name, denominate. నాతో చెప్పెను he told me. చెప్పుడుమాట a hearsay word, hearsay, talk, rumour. చెప్పించు cheppinṭsu. v. a. To make one say or tell. వానికి పని చెప్పించినాను. I got him an employment. వాడికి చదువు చెప్పించినాను. I got him taught to read. చెప్పిఅంపు cheppi-ampu. v. a. n. To send word.

(p. 535) tīru tīru. [Tel.] v. n. To end, stop, cease, elapse. To be finished, ended, complete, or ready. To be paid, delivered, discharged, avenged. To be qualified, accomplished, finished, adorned, trim, decked. To be gratified, satiated, wreaked (as passion;) to be assuaged or allayed, to go off. ముగియు, చిక్కబడు. తనివితీర to the full; so as to satisfy one's desires. తీరలేదు it came to nothing, it was ineffectual. కోరికతీసి having gained his end. ఇది నాచేత తీరదు this is out of my power. నాకు తీరీతీరక ఉన్నది I am hardly at leisure. తీరిపోవు to die. To be practicable, or possible. అక్కడికి రాతీరదు I cannot come there, I have not leisure to come. రాకుంటే తీరదు (you) must positively come. వెళ్లక తీరదు I cannot help going. తీరినగుండెగా నున్నాడు he is quite hackneyed. తీరా tirā. (Root in A of తీరు, with the intensive affix ఆ) adv. Ultimately, at last; fairly; just, merely, in short, simply. తీరా మధ్యాహ్నమయ్యేటప్పటికి when it was high noon. ఆ గోడ తీటా పడ్డది the wall actually fell down. తూరా పండుకొనేటప్పటికి when he was fairly asleep. ఆ సంగతి తీరా బయటపడేటప్పటికి when the matter at last became known. తీరా చెల్లించెను he paid it in full. తీరిక or తీరికె tīrika. n. Leisure. పనిలేక యూరకుండుట. తీరికచిక్కిన having no leisure. Adorning, trimming, decoration. దిద్దడము. తీరిన tīrina adj. Full. finished, accomplished, cured, settled. తీరు. n. Manner, way, mode, fashion, style, arrangement, విధము. Beauty చక్కన. వాడు బకతీరుమనిడషి he is an odd man. వాడుబకతీరుగానున్నాడు ఒకతీరుగానున్నాడు he is but so and so, he is not well, he is not at ease. ఈ తీరు thus. తీరుతప్పి ఉన్నాడు it is all over with him. తీరుగా tirugā. adv. Properly, duly, aright. దాని ముక్కుకండ్లు తీరుగానున్నవి her nose and eyes are pretty. తీరుగడ or తీరుదల tīru-gaḍa. n. Ending. ముగియుట. తీరుపు or తీర్పు tīrupu. n. End, finishing. A decision, judgment, sentence, decree. తీర్పుచెప్పెను he gave his decision. Justice. న్యాయము. Setting right చక్కబాటు. తీరుపరి or తీర్పరి tīrup-ari. n. A judge. న్యాయాధిపతి. An additional or supplementary assessment నిర్ణయించబడిన పన్నుకంటె పైగా కట్టినపన్ను. తీర్చు, తీరుచు, తీరుపు or తీర్చు tīrṭsu. v. a. To end, finish. To do with, accomplish, perform or play (his part,) go through. ముగించు. To order, arrange. చక్కబరుచు. To cool, quiet, assuage. To adjust, liquidate (a debt). To destroy నాశముచేయు. వాయసముతీర్చినది the crow gave a good omen (by crossing my path from left to right.) కోపమునుతీర్చు to revenge oneself, wreak one's anger. చలముతీర్చు, పగతీర్చు to satiate spite. దాహముతీర్చు to quench thirst. తమిదీర్చి satiating one's lusts. వాని పని తీర్చినారు they settled his business or they ruined him. తీర్చుకొను tīrṭsu-konu. v. a. To end, do away with. To settle or pay up as a debt, &c. తీర్పించు tīrpinṭsu. v. a. To cause to decide, or determine.

(p. 1046) mōpu mōpu. [Tel. from మోయు.] v. a. To load, place a burden on (another,) మోయుజేయు. To lay (a fault) upon (a person.) To impute, or charge (against another,) ఆరోపించు. To prop up, ఆనించు. చేతులునేలమోపెను he laid or rested his hands on the ground. 'నారిచేసినతప్పు నామీద మోపి.' Sār. D. 545. 'వాడిసూది మోపినయంతటి భూమి ధర్మనందనునకునీక' as much land as the point of a sharp needle can cover, or rest on. Kanyaka Puran. vii. 116. n. A bundle, load, burden. గడ్డిమొదలైనవాటికట్ట, భారము. A bowstring. వింటినారి. adj. Much, heavy, అధికము. ఉత్తరమున వాన నిండామోపుగానున్నది there is rain impending in the north. దెబ్బలు మోపుగాపడినవి the blows fell thick. మోపుగానుండే గాయము a severe wound. 'నగరోపకంఠంబునను మోపువైచి.' B. P. v. 113 మోవరి or మోపుకాడు mōp-ari. n. A sustainer, a supporter, one who props. మూయువాడు, భావవాహకుడు.మోపాది mōpādi. (మోపు + అది.) n. Danger, risk అపాయము, సంకటము. మోపి mōpi. A widow, విధవ, ముండమోపి. ముండమోసినది she wears a shaven pate. మోపించు mōpinṭsu. v. a. (Causal of మోయు.) To cause to bear a burden. To impose. మోయునట్టుచేయు, నిందపెట్టు. ఆ కట్టెలను వానిచేత మోపించిరి they made him carry the fagots of wood. ఆ తప్పును వానిమీద మోపించిరి they caused the fault to be laid upon him. 'మోపరికగుతగ్గు మొగ్గులభరము, మోపించుకొనునట్టి ముగ్ధునికగునె.' BD. page 129. మోపిక mōpika. n. Weight, భారము. Help, aid. కాండ్లమోపికచేసి by the help of the plough. మోపిడు mōp-iḍu. (మోపు + ఇడు.) v. a. To string a bow, విల్లు ఎక్కిడు. మోపుకొను mōpu-konu. v. a. To take upon one's-self. మోపుదల mōpu-dala. n. A charge or accusation. ఆరోపణము. A load, భారము. ఈనమోపుదలగానుండే ఆవు a cow on the point of calving. ఇవ్వ మోపుదలయైన రూకలు money still due, బాకీ ఉన్న సొమ్ము. చాలా మోపుదలగా చెప్పెను he spoke very impressively. వానిమీద నేరము మోపుదల అయినది he was charged with the offence. మోపుదలచేయు mōpudala-chēyu. v. a. To lay, charge, to bring as a charge, impose, ఆ రూకలను నేను ఇచ్చేటట్టు మోపుదలచేసిరి they made the money payable by me. మోపెట్టు mōp-eṭṭu. (మోపు + పెట్టు.) v. a. To place a weight upon, బరువుపెట్టు. ఆ కాగితనములపైని ఈరాయి మోపెట్టు put this weight on those papers. To brace a bow, విల్లు ఎక్కుపెట్టు. 'అర్జునుడు గాండీవంబు మోపెట్టె.' M. v. i. 261.
