(p. 581) daya daya. [Skt.] n. Favour, kindness, grace, regard. Love, affection, attachment. Mercy, pity, tenderness, clemency, compassion. Pleasure, goodness, amiability, a kind heart. కృప, కనికరము. తమ దయ ఎట్లో అట్లు just as your honour pleases. మీదయ thank you. దయచేయు daya-chēyu. v. a. & n. To grant, bestow, allow, give ఇచ్చు. అనుగ్రహించు. To honor or favour with (something) కరుణించు. To come or to go. అక్కడికి దయచేస్తారా will you be pleased to come (or go) there? ఇది దయచేయండి oblige me with this, be so good as to grant me this. దయతప్పిన dayu-tappina. adj. Displeased, disgraced, out of favour ఆయన దయ నామీద తప్పినది. I lost his favour. దయారసము dayā-rasama. n. The spirit of love. Lovingkindness, humanity, benignity, indulgence. దయాళుత్వము dayāḷutvamu. n. Benignity. సర్వదయాళుత్వము universal beneficence, goodness to all creatures. దయాళువు or దయాశాలి dayāḷuvu. n. A kind, gracious, merciful person. కనికరముగలవాడు.

(p. 1168) vijayamu vi-jayamu. [Skt.] n. A great conquest, a complete triumph, a great victory. మిక్కిలి గెలుపు. This word is used in the titles of several poems, and can be translated 'Adventures' or 'Tale,' as తారాశశాంకవిజయము the adventures of Tāra and Sasanka, similar to those of Stella and the Genius. విజయ vi-jaya. n. The name of a Telugu year. విజయదశమి vijaya-daṣami. n. The tenth day of the month Asvayuja, being the day after the festival to Sarasvati, when all books, arms and instruments of trade are worshipped. విజయముచేయు or విజయంజేయు vi-jayamu-chēyu. v. n. To come, వచ్చు. To proceed; deign or condescend to come or go. వేంచేయు, విచ్చేయు, వచ్చు, పోవు. ఈవేళ మాయింటికి విజయము చేస్తారా will you do me the honor to come to my house? will you favour me with your company. Jaya and Vijaya are the names of the two porters at the gate of the palace of Vishnu, విష్నువుయొక్క ద్వారపాలకులు.

To live or dwell. ఉండు, నివసించు. మాయింటికి వేంచేస్తారా will you do me the honor to come to my house? ఆయన కంచిలో వేంచేసియున్నారు he lives at Conjevaram.
