A figure, diagram or sign in astrology. The name of a coin. The bird called చక్రవాకము. A region or division of the body. చక్రధరుడు or చక్రపాణి Vishṇu. కటి or కటిచక్రము the loins, the region of the lions. అష్టకోణచక్రము an octagon. చక్రవర్తి chakra-varti.. n. An emperor or sovereign. రారాజు, సార్వభౌముడు. చక్రవర్తిని chakra-vartini. n. An empress. సార్వభౌమురాలు. చక్రవాకము chakra-vākamu. n. The Brahminy-duck or Ruddy Casarca rotila (F.B.I.) జక్కవపక్షి. The poetical swan, always described as being in pairs, to which poets liken fair breasts. చక్రవాళము chakravāḷamu. n. A range of mountains supposed to encircle the earth. చుట్టుకొండ. చక్రవృద్ధి chakra-vṛiddhi. n. Compound interest వడ్డికివడ్డి. చక్రాంకనము or చక్రాంకితములు or చక్రాంకములు chakrānkanamu. n. Marks branded on the front of the shoulders, representing the disc and shell of Vishṇu. (It is a rite similar to absolution.) చక్రాంగము chakrāngamu. n. A swan. హంస. చక్రాంగి a female swan. చక్రి chakri. n. The discus-wielder, i.e., Vishṇu. A snake, because rolled in a ring. A potter, because using a wheel.

(p. 506) tadbhavamu tad-bhavamu. [Skt. తత్+భవము.] n. Lit. Proceeding (or corrupted) from Sanskrit, a term applied to Telugu words which are borrowed from Sanskrit, but greatly changed in spelling as జక్కు for యక్ష.

(p. 804) poṭṭu poṭṭu. [Tel.] n. Husk, bran. ఉముక. The scales of fish. Vēma. 1364. పొట్టు దాన్యము grain that has a coat or husk, as వడ్లు, అరిగలు, కొర్రలు, చామల్ను వరిగెలు, &c. పొట్టుకర్ర an empty sprout in a ear of corn. గట్టివిడిచిపెట్టి పొట్టుకు పోరాడెదవా will you give up the real for the false? మీదితోలు పొట్టుపొట్టుగా రాలిపోయినది the skin peeled off in scales. పొట్టుపొరలగు poṭṭu-poral-agu. v. n. To be troubled, harassed or tormented. పీడితమగు. 'అప్పాపాత్ముండెట్లునుం జక్కంబడక తనచలంబుతోన పొట్టపొరలయ్యె కయ్యంబు పొడుచు వాడుగాని.' M. V. iv. 88.

(p. 1347) sūḍu sūḍu. [Tel.] n. Enmity, pique, spite. సుక, వైరము, విద్వేషము. An enemy, శత్రువు. v. a. To cut, కోయు. 'అజ్ఞానమనెడియడవిని, నుజ్ఞానపు ఖడ్గముననునూడగవలదా.' Vema. 2091. 'క నూడొక్కటియనుమరిదా, కీడొక్కటియును జగంబు కీర్తించుటకై.' UH. iv. 248. 'జక్కవగమిమాడుచక్కని వగకాడు.' T. i. 44. సూడుకాడు sūḍu-kāḍu. n. An enemy. వైరి. సూడుపట్టు or సూడుకొను sūḍu-paṭṭu. n. To entertain ill will. పగగొను, విరోధించు.
