(p. 25) aguḍu aguḍu. [Tel. subjunctive of అగు.] అయ్యేటప్పటికి. 'అంతకంత కగ్గలబగుడు, గుడి కింజని.' A. v. 166. as it was excessive. Also (Optative.) may it be so.

(p. 50) anavuḍu, nāvuḍu or నాన్ anavuḍu. [Tel.] adv. On saying this అనగా, అనేటప్పటికి. 'నృపనన్ను వివాహమ్మగుమనవుడు.' Swa. vi. 23.

(p. 53) anu anu. [Tel.] v. n. To say, to think, to suppose. చెప్పు, తలచు, ఎంచు. (Past p.|| అని. Relative p.|| అనిన or అన్న, Aor. p.|| అనే, అనెడి, అనెడు, అనేటి. Neg. p.|| అనని.) అట్లా అంటాడు so he says. కావలెననే మనసు a desire to have it. తళుక్కుమను to shine or glitter. చేతితో ఇట్లా అన్నాడు he did so with his hand. అనుటయు on his saying so. అనగా may be translated 'or;' thus అచలముగా కొండ Achalam or hill; Achalam which means a hill. అనుడు adv. On (his) saying this. అనగా, అనేటప్పటికి, అనవుడు. అనుకొను anu-konu. [Tel.] v. n. To say, suppose, think, (middle voice of అను to say or think.) నేను ఇది యిస్తాననుకొన్నాడు he thought that I would give him this.

(p. 66) appuḍu appuḍu. [Tel. from ఆ+పొద్దు] adv. Then, at that time (This is also used as a defective noun.) Dative అప్పటికి at that time, అప్పట్లో (locative) at that time. అప్పటినుంచి since that time. అట్లా చెప్పేటప్పటికి when he said so. మరియొకప్పుడు at another time. In compounds it means 'When', as వాడు వచ్చినప్పుడు when he came. ఒకప్పుడు వచ్చెను ఒకప్పుడు రాకపోయెను he sometimes came and sometimes stayed away. అప్పుడే (emphatic form) just then, already. అప్పుడే పుట్టిటనబిడ్డ a child just born. అప్పుడప్పుడు now and then. అప్పటిరాజులు the rulers of those days, the then princes.

(p. 88) alavōka ala-vōka. [Tel.] n. Sport, amusement, playfulness. లీల, వేడుక, విలాసము, అట్లాట, అలవోకగా ala-vōka-gā. [Tel.] adv. Carelessly. అలక్ష్యముగా, అపడ్డగా. 'అలవోకగా వచ్చి యప్పటప్పటికి సమేలంపుమాటల మేలమాడు.' Vish. vi. 19.

(p. 261) kaḷa or కల kaḷa. [Skt.] n. A degree, or sub-division. భాగము. That which proceeds by degrees, as effect, virtue, potency, influence, inclination. A ray or light. Look or appearance. A phase of the moon, of which the Hindus reckon sixteen. The degree in which one night's moon-light differs from that of the next. ముప్పది కాష్ఠలకాలము. చంద్రునిలో పదునారవ భాగము. In Telugu Grammar, a word that does not end with an N sound. A note, as being a subdivision of music. The nerves or ticklish parts of the body. దీపముయొక్క కళ the brightness of lamp. అతని ముఖ కళ his air, the effect of his features. పిచ్చికళ a look of madness. క్రూరకళ an angry look. నిద్రకళ drowsiness. కళాస్థానములు the nerves. 'కళలు చెమ్మగిలన్.' (T. ii. 82.) her heart melted: it touched her to the quick. ఈ గాడ్పుకళలనన్నిటిని పీల్చుచున్నది this burning wind exhausts the spirits దేహకళావ్యత్యయము a morbid affection: an injured constituion. దానికళ బహు బాగా ఉన్నది She has a very pretty air. పెద్దదయ్యేటప్పటికి కళవచ్చినది She is growing very pretty. కళ [Tel.] n. A swoon. మూర్ఛ. A twig చెమ్మ.

(p. 535) tīru tīru. [Tel.] v. n. To end, stop, cease, elapse. To be finished, ended, complete, or ready. To be paid, delivered, discharged, avenged. To be qualified, accomplished, finished, adorned, trim, decked. To be gratified, satiated, wreaked (as passion;) to be assuaged or allayed, to go off. ముగియు, చిక్కబడు. తనివితీర to the full; so as to satisfy one's desires. తీరలేదు it came to nothing, it was ineffectual. కోరికతీసి having gained his end. ఇది నాచేత తీరదు this is out of my power. నాకు తీరీతీరక ఉన్నది I am hardly at leisure. తీరిపోవు to die. To be practicable, or possible. అక్కడికి రాతీరదు I cannot come there, I have not leisure to come. రాకుంటే తీరదు (you) must positively come. వెళ్లక తీరదు I cannot help going. తీరినగుండెగా నున్నాడు he is quite hackneyed. తీరా tirā. (Root in A of తీరు, with the intensive affix ఆ) adv. Ultimately, at last; fairly; just, merely, in short, simply. తీరా మధ్యాహ్నమయ్యేటప్పటికి when it was high noon. ఆ గోడ తీటా పడ్డది the wall actually fell down. తూరా పండుకొనేటప్పటికి when he was fairly asleep. ఆ సంగతి తీరా బయటపడేటప్పటికి when the matter at last became known. తీరా చెల్లించెను he paid it in full. తీరిక or తీరికె tīrika. n. Leisure. పనిలేక యూరకుండుట. తీరికచిక్కిన having no leisure. Adorning, trimming, decoration. దిద్దడము. తీరిన tīrina adj. Full. finished, accomplished, cured, settled. తీరు. n. Manner, way, mode, fashion, style, arrangement, విధము. (p. 1159) vālu or వ్రాలు vālu. [Tel.] v. n. To bend or weigh down. To light or perch. To hang loose; to fall down. కొమ్మ మొదలైనవివంగు, చెట్టుమీదిపక్షిదిగు, కిందికిదిగు, దిగువపడు, వంగు, ౛ారు, ఒరగు. To increase, అతిశయించు. v. a. A projecting or protuberant belly, బొ౛్జ. వాలుగొమ్ము a canal or sluice. వాలుచు or వాల్చు vāluṭsu. v. a. To bend, incline, slant. కిందికివంచు. Hanging down. వాలుడుకొమ్మలు branches that hang down. n. A kind of tree. ఎర్రవాలుడు the red kind. వాలుడుచెక్క the bark of this tree used in medicine. వాలుడుతైలము the oil extracted from this bark. 'కోరివాలుడుతైలంబు గ్రోలువారు.' P. i. 725. వాలుపు or వాల్పు valupu. n. Bending down, వాల్చుట. వాలుప్రొద్దు vālu-pṛoddu. n. The morning or evening sun, లేతప్రొద్దు, అపరాహ్ణము, వాలుమగడు vālamagaḍu. n.
