(p. 82) arumu or అరము arumu. [Tel.] v. a. To browbeat, to bully, to attack. గద్దించు, గదమాయించు, ఎదిరించు, ఆక్రమించు. 'కయ్యమెల్లను దనమీద బెట్టుకొని లావును బీరము జూపబూని యేపుననరిమెన్ భవద్విశిఖపుంజములన్ దెగటార్పుమీతనిన్.' M. VIII. i. 69. 'అరిమిర మాకు మారుడపుడగ్రతలంబున వచ్చి నిల్చి.' Vasu. iii. 240.

(p. 83) arghamu arghamu. [Skt.] n. Price. Adoration, worship, respect. మూల్యము, వెల, పూజ. అర్ఘబలాబలము the cheapness or dearness of commodities. అర్ఘ్యము arghyamu. n. A respectful oblation to gods or to venerable men, of rice, darbha-grass, flowers, &c., with water, or of water only. పూజార్థార్హజలాదికము. అర్ఘ్యపాత్ర a vessel for this. అర్ఘ్యపాద్యాదులు the same with the addition of water for the feet, &c అష్టార్ఘ్యములు the 8 kinds of offerings, viz., పెరుగు, తేనె, నెయ్యి, అక్షతలు, గరిక, నువ్వులు, దర్భ, పువ్వులు. అర్ఘ్యము adj. Venerable, deserving worship. పూజకు తగిన, యోగ్యమైన.

(p. 104) astramu astramu. [Skt.] n. A weapon, a sword, a missile. ఆయుధము, బాణము, కత్తి కటారి మొదలైనవి. ఆగ్నేయాస్త్రము a fiery weapon, a weapon having the power of fire. నాగాస్త్రము a serpent weapon, having a serpent's power. అస్తకారుడు a maker of weapons. అస్త్రవిద్య military science. అస్త్రవృష్టి a shower of arrows. అస్త్రశిక్ష military excercise. అస్త్రాగారము an arsenal, an armoury. అస్త్రి astri. n. A bowman. విలుకాడు. అస్త్రజీవి astrajivi. n. A soldier. బంటు, సైనికుడు.

(p. 30) azjavālu azza-vālu. [Tel.] n. A fowl. కోడి. 'అటలుడించివేజరగు మంచును వెన్నెలరేని కేర్పడం ౛టెననంగ గూతలిడ సాగెతుటారపుట౛్జవాల్గముల్' అచ్చ. ఆ. కాం.

(p. 121) āramu āramu. [Skt.] n. One side or angle of a polygon. ద్వాదశారము a twelve sided body. సాష్టారక eight sided.

(p. 123) ārjiñcu ārjinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To acquire or accumulate, to gain, make money. గడించు, సంపాదించు. ఆర్జన or ఆర్జనము ārjana. n. Acquisition, gain, accumulation. గడన, ద్రవ్యార్జన the acquisition of wealth. ఆర్జకుడు ārjakuḍu. n. He who acquires or procures. గడించువాడు. ఆర్జితము ārjitamu. adj. Acquired, gained. కష్టార్జితమైన earned by toil.

(p. 148) uṇḍu uṇḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To be, exist, live. 2. To reside, dwell. 3. To remain, stop, stay. 4. To last, endure, continue. 5. To keep still, stay quiet; 6. To wait. To stand over, remain as a surplus. ఉండిపోవు, శేషించు. 7. To have. నాకు భార్య ఉండగా as I have a wife. 'కనకము ఉన్నవాడు' he who possesses gold. -- 8. To keep a feast. విజయదశమి ఉండినారు they kept the Vijaya Dasami feast. ఉన్న మాట యిది this is the fact. ఉన్నరూపు the true form, the reality. నేను అక్కడ పది దినములుంటిని I remained there ten days, వాడు (ఇంట్లో) ఉన్నాడా is he at home? మీ తండ్రి బాగా ఉన్నాడా is your father well? ఉన్నట్టుండి suddenly, just as they were. ఉన్నారు they are; రేపుదాక ఉంటారా will they remain till to-morrow? అక్కడ ఉన్నారా are they there?

(p. 170) ullaṅghanamu ul-langhanamu. [Skt.] n. Disregard, disgrace, contempt. అతిక్రమించుట. ఉల్లంఘించు ul-langhinṭsu. v. a. To disregard, to pass over, transgress, refuse, decline, disgrace, browbeat. అతిక్రమించు, తుటారించు. ఆజ్ఞనుల్లంఘించు to disregard an order.

(p. 217) ōṭari ōṭari. [Tel.] n. Ruin, defeat, the loser at a game. ఓటరు or ఓటారు ōṭaru. [Tel. from ఓటు and పారు.] v. n. To be ruined or wrecked; ఓటారిన cracked, broken or gone to pieces. బద్దలయిన.

(p. 230) kaṭāri or కటారు kaṭāri. [Tel.] n. A cross hilted dagger. కటారికాడు one who carries a dagger. కట్టారికత్తె a woman who has a dagger with her.

(p. 292) kaṭṭūrike or కుట్టారుగ kuṭṭārike. [Tel. కురుచ+అరుగ.] n. A small species of the grain called ఆరుగులు. A. iv. 173.

(p. 306) kṛtamu kṛitamu. [Skt.] n. An act, a thing done. చేయబడ్డది. దైవకృతము an act of God. కృతము or కృతయుగము kṛitamu. n. The golden age, the first of the four ages of the world. supposed to consist of 1,728,000 years. కృతము kṛitamu. adj., Done , made, accomplished. కృతకృత్యుడు he who has attained his desire. ఇష్టార్థసిద్ధి గలవాడు. కృతాంజలి he who assumes with folded hands a reverential posture before his superiors. అంజలిబంధముకలవాడు. కృతాకృత done and not done. కృతస్నానయై having bathed. కృతమతి a prepared mind or set heart. adv. [Used in Vizag. for ప్రకృతము.] At present, just now. కృతికము kṛitakamu. adj. Artificial, made. మనుష్యులచేత చేయబడినది. Unreal. కృతకాద్రి or కృతకశైలము an artificial hillock. కృతక కళేబరము a thing made to represent a corpse. కృతఘ్నము kṛitaghnamu. [from ఘ్న to kill, destroy.] adj. Ungrateful. కృతఘ్నత kṛita-ghnata. n. Ingratitude. కృతఘ్నుడు an ungrateful man చేసినమేలు మరచినవాడు. కృతజ్ఞుడు kṛitagnyuḍu [from జ్ఞ to know, to recognise.] n. A grateful person. చేసిన మేలు తలచువాడు. కృతజ్ఞత kṛitagnyata. n. Gratitude. కృతపడు kṛita-paḍu. n. To be done or made. గతించు. 'దేవావినుమువగ చినంగృత పడిన కార్యంబులు క్రమ్మరంబొడమునే, డెందంబుగుందు నింతియకాక.' M. VIII. i. 232.
