(p. 490) ṭhāṇamu ṭhāṇamu. [Tel.] n. A place. ఫ్రౌఢతనంబులఠాణము it is the very fountain of excellence, the home of beauty.

(p. 490) ṭhāṇā ṭhāṇā. [H.] n. A police station. ఠాణాదారుడు a local policeman, a station house officer.

(p. 737) pātramu pātramu. [Skt.] adj. Worthy, fit, adequate. యోగ్యము. పాత్రత pātrata. n. Fitness, worthiness. పాత్రుడు pātruḍu. n. One who is worthy, deserving or fit. అర్హుడు. యోగ్యుడు. ఆయనదయకు పాత్రుడనైతిని I was found worthy of enjoying his favour. వారు దండనకు పాత్రులైరి they were guilty, they were deserving of punishment. A king's counsellor or minister. మంత్రి. 'కోటలో గజపతివారు తమతట్టునుండిన పాత్రసామంతులను కొందరు మన్నెపువారినిని ఠాణా ఉంచినారు.' పాత్రసామంతులు means principal servants. A title assumed by the members of a particular caste of Sudras in Ganjam and Orissa, as భోగన్నహేత్రుడు, వీరన్న పాత్రు డు, &c.

(p. 1073) rāṇa rāṇa. [Tel. another form of రమణ.] n. Brightness, lustre. ప్రకాశము. Cheerfulness. ఉల్లాసము. Beauty, సొంపు. Love, liking. ప్రీతి. 'రాణనొప్పారుపై ఠాణంబు పింగిణి.' Swa. iv. 36. టీ రాణనొప్పారు, శృంగారముచేత నొప్పుచున్న 'ప్రాణేశుడులేమిదుఃఖ పరవశయ గుచుం రాణచెడియుంటగని యయ్యేణాక్షింజీచి.' Vish. viii. 181.
