(p. 74) amaru amaru. [Tel.] v. n. To be fit or proper, be agreeable, be prepared. ఒప్పు, తగు, తగియుండు. వానికి అన్నము చక్కగా అమరలేదు the dinner was not such as befitted him. వానికి అన్ని అమరియున్నవి he has every thing right with him, he wants nothing. 'అమరదు నీపొత్తువృధా.' P. ii. 49.

(p. 218) ōpu ōpu. [Tel.] v. t. To bear, endure, tolerate. ఓర్చు. చూపోపక A. v. 78. unable to stand before his face. ఇంతకష్టమోపలేను I cannot bear this trouble. ఓప రాని. ōpa-rāni. adj. Intolerable సహింపగూడని. ఓపలేని ōpa-lēni. adj. Impatient. ఓర్పులేని; helpless,దిక్కులేని. ఓపలేనివారికి వద్దన్నవారే తల్లిదండ్రులు those who check the impatient are their best friends. ఓపు ōpu. v. n. To be fit, to suit; to be worthy: to be able: to be possible or practicable. చాలు, తగియుండు, పోనోప్పనా can he go? పోనోపడు he cannot go. ఈనోపని unable to give.

(p. 708) panupaḍu or పన్నుపడు panu-paḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To be accustomed, incured, qualified, to fit, to suit. వాడుకపడు, అలవాటుపడు, సరిపడు, ఇముడు, తగియుండు. To happen, కలుగు. వాడు వ్రాయడమునకు బాగా పడుపడ్డవాడు he is dexterous or skilled in writing. 'సద్భుద్ధిదృఢమగుసాధనంబుగగొని మరలిచియాత్మను మనసునిలిపి యుపగతసంకల్పుడై యుపల స్థాణుభంగికస్థితిబనుపడిదివంబు రాత్రి యును.' M. XII. vi. 37. ఉపలస్థాణు భంగికస్థితిబనుపడి, అనగా రాతిస్తంభము రీతిగా చలించకుండా ఉండడమునకు అలవాటుపడి. పనుపరచు panu-paraṭsu. v. a. To inure, to accustom, drill, train. To trim, rectify, mend, adjust.

(p. 821) pōlu pōlu. [Tel.] v. n. To be fit or agreeable. ఒప్పు, తగియుండు. To be proper, యుక్తమగు. To be possible, శక్యమగు. This word is added to infinitives. చేయబోలునె can it be done? The neg. is పోలదు; thus, అట్లా చేయపోలదు or తగదు it is not proper to do so. ఉండబోలును perhaps they are there, ఉన్నవేమో. 'తెగువయదేవేంద్రపదవియనదగు బుద్ధిజనింపబోలుతరుణీనీకున్.' H. i. 140. v. a. To resemble, to be like, సరిపోలు. n. Resemblance, similarity, సామ్యము. పోలుపొందులేకుండా మాట్లాడు or తలా తోకలేకుండా మాట్లాడు to talk without rhyme or reason. పోలె pōle. adv. Like. రామునిపోలె like Rama. పోలమి pōl-ami. n. Dissimilarity, unlikeness. పోలించు, పోలుచు or పోల్చు pōlinṭsu. v. a. To compare, or liken. పోలజేయు. పోలిక, పోలికి or పోల్కి pōlika. n. Resemblance, likeness.
