(p. 63) apasavyamu apa-savyamu. [Skt.] adj. Contrary, opposite to, on the wrong side ప్రతికూలమైన, దక్షిణమైన, అనగా కుడిదైన, అపసవ్యలిపి letters written the wrong way as in a seal. అపసవ్యము n. Putting the braminical thread the wrong way: that is, on the right shoulder and letting it fall on the left side instead of lying on the left shoulder. జందెమును కుడిభుజము మీద నుంచి యెడమభుజమునకు కిందితట్టుగా వేసుకోవడము.

(p. 66) apradakṣiṇamu a-pradakshiṇamu. [Skt.] n. Walking round (a corpse. &c.) presenting the left hand towards it. ఎడమచెయితట్టుగా చుట్టును తిరగడము.

To occur or happen, to break out. కలుగు. నాకు సంశయముతట్టినది a doubt occurred to me. అది నామనసుకు తట్టలేదు it did not occur to my mind. అది నాకు నిజమని తట్టలేదు it does not strike me as true. v. a. To strike, beat, knock, pat, clap, slap. చరచు. To touch. ముట్టు. To do away with. remove, or dispel (as darkness.) కత్తిదెబ్బ కేడెముతో తట్టినాడు he averted the blow. తట్టివేయు to remove. సరితట్టు to compare with the original, to fill up what was wanting. నీళ్లు ఎగదట్టినవి the water rose to the brink, ఆ ఓడ గట్టుతట్టినది the ship ran ashore. తట్టుపునుగు carefully selected musk. n. A side, direction. పార్శ్వము. మీదితట్టు the top: the upper side. కింది తట్టు the under side: the bottom. A bank or shore దరి. A swelling, an inflammation. Chicken pox తట్టమ్మ. రాజ్యము వానితట్టు చేసినాడు they delivered the kingdom to him. అందరమొకతట్టు దిగితిమి we all went over to one side. ఆ పని తట్టుపడినది that work is laid aside. the ship got aground. తట్టుతీయు to flute wood, or make a groove. వానికి తట్టుపోసినది he has got the chicken pox. తట్టుకొను taṭṭu-konu. v. n. To go along. దొరికినమట్టుకు తట్టుకొని పోయెను he ran off with whatever he could get. To pause, delay, take time, hesitate. తట్టుపడు to suffer బాధపడు. తట్లాట taṭlāṭa. n. A squabble.

(p. 503) taṭṭuna or తట్టువము taṭṭuva. [Tel.] n. A country bred pony. తట్టు.

(p. 503) taṭṭumuṭṭu or తట్టుముట్లు taṭṭu-muṭṭu. [Tel.] n. Things, utensils, furniture, tools, household stuff. తట్టుముట్టాడు to surround (as poverty) చుట్టుకొను.

(p. 737) pātramu pātramu. [Skt.] adj. Worthy, fit, adequate. యోగ్యము. పాత్రత pātrata. n. Fitness, worthiness. పాత్రుడు pātruḍu. n. One who is worthy, deserving or fit. అర్హుడు. యోగ్యుడు. ఆయనదయకు పాత్రుడనైతిని I was found worthy of enjoying his favour. వారు దండనకు పాత్రులైరి they were guilty, they were deserving of punishment. A king's counsellor or minister. మంత్రి. 'కోటలో గజపతివారు తమతట్టునుండిన పాత్రసామంతులను కొందరు మన్నెపువారినిని ఠాణా ఉంచినారు.' పాత్రసామంతులు means principal servants. A title assumed by the members of a particular caste of Sudras in Ganjam and Orissa, as భోగన్నహేత్రుడు, వీరన్న పాత్రు డు, &c.

(p. 1037) moggu or మ్రొగ్గు moggu. [Tel.] v. n. To incline, to lean on one side. To be depressed, as a scale in weighing, to bow down under a burden, to show an inclination toward, to be inclined to, వంగు, వాలు, తూలు. 'అంబరంబిలమ్రొగ్గె నహిపతిస్రగ్గె.' BD. v. 268. n. Leaning, inclination. ఒకతట్టుకై తూలడము, వంగడము, వాలడము, 'దిగ్గనలేచియోబసవధీమణి మీ మదిదోచుమార్గమే మొగ్గగుగాన పోదమని ముందచారునిబంప.' Chenna. iv. 358. మొగ్గగు, విశేషముగానున్నది, ఘనముగానున్నది. మొగ్గటిలు, మొగ్గటిల్లు మొగ్గతిలు or మ్రొగ్గతిల్లు moggatilu. v. n. To bend down, to stoop. వంగు. To kneel down, మోకరిల్లు. 'చదికిలబడిదిగ్గజములుసరి మ్రొగ్గతిలన్.' BRY. ii. 437. 'ముందటికాళ్లుతునిసి మ్రొగ్గతిలంబడియును, మొదలుపరియలైన, నెరిదప్పగూలియు.' M. VI. iii. 218. మొగ్గరము moggaramu. n. An array, వ్యూహము. 'అరసం౛కెం౛ాయకెదురు మొగ్గరములై కనుపట్టువల్కలాగ్రములు దూల.' R. v. 112. M. IX. i. 318.

(p. 1045) mōṭu mōṭu. [Tel.] n. An obstinate person. మూర్ఖుడు, మ్రోడు. A stupid person, or blockhead. మూఢుడు, మూఢస్త్రీ. A male horse, మగగుర్రము. A country bred horse, తట్టువగుర్రము. A stump, block, trunk. మోడు, నరకగా మిగిలిన కాళ్లుచేతులు మొదలైనవి, మొద్దు.' కాలినమోటువంటి కొరగాని శరీరము.' Vish. ii. 143. A false human figure placed before a sow, పందికెదుట మనుష్యాకారముగా నిలిపిన కపటలక్ష్యము. adj. Dull, stupid, simple, rude, coarse. boorish, uncivilised, vulgar, మడ్డి. మూఢమైన, మూర్ఖమైన, మోటుసరసము bear's play, practical jokes, rough romping. మోటాసపడు mōṭ-āsa-paḍu. (మోటు + ఆసపడు.) v. a. To aim at. 'సీ సటలెత్తుకొనియెత్తు కిటినైనమోటాస పడియేయబొడుతునీపాదమాన.' Swa. iv. 44. టీ మోటాసపడియేయ, మాటు చేసికొని బాణములచేతవేయను.

(p. 1087) rēyi , రే or రెయి rēyi. [Tel.] n. Night, రాత్రి. plu. రేలు. రేయిటి rēyiṭi. adj. (Gen. of రేయి.) Nocturnal. nightly, రాత్రిటి. 'చల్లని రేయిటితట్టుపున్గులన్ విందులదేలనూనెముడివెంట్రుకలదడితావలీనగన్.' A. v. 95. టీ రేయిటి, రాత్రియందుపుసికొన్న. రేయెండ rē-y-enḍa. n. Moonlight. వెన్నెల. 'అడరెరే యెండ లప్పుడద్భుతముగ.' N. ix. 145. రేరేడు or రేరాయడు rē-rēḍu. n. The moon, as 'lord of night.' రేరేనితోబుట్టు a name of Lakshmi. లక్ష్మీ. రేవగలు rē-vagalu. (రే + పగలు.) n. Day and night. అహోరాత్రము See రే. రేవెలుగు, రేవెల్గు or రేవెలుంగు rē-velugu. n. The moon. చంద్రుడు. 'దొంగకెన్నరేవెలుంగొప్పుగానట్లు.' Vēma 274.

(p. 1149) vāḍa vāḍa. [Tel. for ఓడ.] n. A ship. నౌక. వాడంగి vāḍangi. n. A boat man, ఓడవాడు. The beams of a boat, దోనెకులోతట్టువేసేదూలము. వాడగన్నేరు vāḍa-gannēru. n. A certain fragrant plant, called Oleander, Nerium odorum, కరవీరవృక్షము. వాడగాలి vāḍā-gāli. n. Wind that blows from the sea, a strong wind. వాడముక్కు vāḍa-mukku. n. A small thin long snouted fish. మత్స్యభేదము.

(p. 1210) venu Same as వెన్ను. (q. v.) వెనుక, వెనక or వెన్క venuka. [Tel. from వెను.] n. The back part or side, the rear, పశ్చాద్బాగము. The front, ముందు. The west, పడమర. Indifference, ఉపేక్ష. adj. Behind or before (in place, order or time.) పశ్చాద్భాగముననున్న, ముందరనున్న. adv. and affix. Behind, after (in time or place.) Formerly, పశ్చాద్భాగమందు, తదనంతరము, లోగడ. To hang behind, to lag, fall back. వెనుకపడు. వెనుకచూపులమెకము venuka-tsūpula-mekamu. n. A bear. ఎలుగుబంటి. వెనుకటి or వెనకటి venukaṭi. adj. Former, previous. Subsequent, following, latter, hinder. ముందరి, ఇటీవలి, వెనుకనుండే. వెనుకటికాళ్లు the hind legs. వెనుకటి సంగతులు the former matters; also, the latter particulars. వెనుకటికర్మము or వెనుకటి పని obsequies, funeral ceremonies, ఆపరకర్మము. వెనుకటివాడు venukaṭi-vāḍu. n.
