(p. 516) talamu talamu. [Tel.] interj. Stop! stand back! తాళుము. తలము [from Skt. స్థలము.] n. Site, situation, place. Actuality, subsistence, existence; Essential nature. స్వరూపము. మహీతలము the earth, the place filled or occupied by a body. కరతలము the palm of the hand. పాదతలము the sole of the foot. వియత్తలము the sky, the heavens. ఆకాశప్రదేశము. తలముతప్పు to become impossible అశక్యమగు.

(p. 526) tāḷu or తాళుకొను tāḷu. [Tel.] v. a. To bear, suffer, endure, tolerate, have or show patience సహించు. To refrain. To wait, stop. ఆగు, నిదానించు. ఈ బట్ట కట్టు తాళును this cloth wears very well.

(p. 562) tolacu telatṣu. [Tel.] v. t. To wash. Parij. iii. 35. To wipe, తుడుచు. To cause to be removed, తొలగజేయు. To put away. Pal. 266. తొలతొలమని Crying Stop! stop! తాళుతాళుమని. BD. iv. 174. తొలతొలండు Up! begone! rise! Contracted for తొలగండి.

(p. 900) bētāḷamu bētāḷamu. [Skt.] n. A demon, పిశాచము. బేతాళకథలు or విక్రమార్క కథలు bētāḷa-kathalu. n. A set of fables related by a goblin who is described as the captive of Vikramārka. బేతాళిక bētālika. n. A she-devil or sprite; a wicked woman. పిశాచస్త్రీ.' బండతిట్లబేతాళికల సారెదిట్టువాని.' A. vi. 23. బేతాళుడు or భేతాళుడు bētāḷuḍu. n. The name of a servant of Yama, a goblin, imp, demon, or fiend similar to Puck, యదుకింకరుడు.
