To beget. నలుగురిని కన్నతండ్రి one who has four children. To experience, feel, enjoy. ఇందులో మోక్షమును కన్న వారెవరు who among these has been to heaven. విమలతగనిరి they acquired holiness. కని / (the past p) is used adverbially; clearly, distinctly. ఆ సంగతినికని వ్రాసినాడు he wrote his letter with an eye to this point. కనిచెప్పు to specify clearly in words, to particularize. కనిగానములు the seeing and not perceiving. (p. 316) koṭṭu koṭṭu. [Tel.] v. n. To strike. గంట కొట్టినది the clock has struck. గాలి కొట్టుచున్నది the wind is blowing. కంపు కొట్టినది it smells badly. కొల్లగొట్టినాడు he plundered. పిడుగు ఆ చెట్టును చీలగొట్టినది the thunder bolt struck and split the tree. దాన్ని పురుగులుకొట్టినవి insects have attacked it. వానికి ముఖము కొట్టినది he is surfeited or gorged. వానకొట్టినది there was rain. వానికి ఎండకొట్టినది he was exposed to the sun. కొట్టినపిండి a well bruised flour, -- a phrase implying thorough knowledge of any subject. వానికి రామాయణము కొట్టినపిండి he is thoroughly acquainted with the Rāmāyaṇa. 'కోమలినాకునెట్టియెడ కొట్టినపిండి సమస్తలలోకముల్ నీమదికింపులైనయవి నిర్భరశక్తినిదేసమర్థుడన్.' KP. vi. 30.

(p. 353) gaḍḍi gaḍḍi. [Tel.] n. Grass. కసవు. వరిగడ్డి rice straw. గడ్డిమొలతాడు a small cord made of the darbha or sacred grass worn around the waist by a young Brahmin in the ceremony of investing him with the sacred thread. కామంచిగడ్డి or కామాక్షికసవు the Citronella, or Andropogon Nardus. (Watts.) గడ్డితలకాయ gaḍḍi-tala-kāya. n. A hair-brained fellow, a soft-headed fool. గడ్డి తినిపించు gaḍḍi-tini-pinṭsu. v. n. To dupe. (lit. to make one eat grass) వానిని గడ్డితినిపించినారు they befooled him. గడ్డితిను gaḍḍi-tinu. v. n. To eat grass, to be cheated. ఈలాగున గడ్డితిన్నాడు thus was he befooled. గడ్డిపరక gaḍḍi-paraka. n. A blade of straw or grass గడ్డిపాము gaḍḍi-pāmu. n. A species of snake. గడ్డిపిట్ట gaḍḍi-piṭṭa. n. A kind of bird: there are three sorts, named ఎర్రగడ్డిపిట్ట, బిత్తరిగడ్డిపిట్ట and భూతగడ్డిపిట్ట. గడ్డిబొద్దున gaḍḍi-bodduva. n. A ring of grass rope to set a pot on. చుట్ట కుదురు.

(p. 507) tannu tannu. [Tel.] v. a. To kick. కోడిని గద్ద తన్నుకొనిపోయినది the hawk pounced upon the fowl and carried it off. n. A kick. వానిచేత తన్నులుతినివచ్చినాడు he got a kicking from him. తన్నుకోల a prop, పోటీపెట్టిన కొయ్య. తన్ను బిళ్ల tannu-balla. n. A foot-board తమ్నబిళ్ల a sort of game played by children. H. iii. 183. తన్నులబడు tannula-baḍu. v. n. To get kicked, to suffer blows. తన్నులాడు tannu-l-āḍu. v. n. To kick each other, to exchange blows: to fight, as cocks do. ఒకరినొకరు తన్నుకొను.

(p. 528) tinu tinu. [Tel.] v. a. To eat. భుజించు. To suffer or undergo (blows, abuse, hardship, or punishment.) వానివద్ధ దెబ్బలు తిన్నాను I was beaten or flogged by him. గడ్డితిను to eat grass, i.e., to make a beast or fool of oneself. అన్నము తింటారా గడ్డి తింటారా are you men or brutes? తినివేయు to devour (one's property.) తినిపించు tini-p-inṭsu. (caus. from తిను.) v. t. To cause to eat. వాణ్ని మన్ను తినిపించినాను I made him eat dirt. తినుబండములు tinu-banḍamulu. n. Eatables. తినుబండారపువస్తువులు provisions.
