(p. 531) tirugu tirugu. [Tel.] v. n. To turn, rove, roam, travel. సంచరించు To be giddy. పరిభ్రమించు. To go back. వెనుకకుమరలు. To come again. మరలవచ్చు. To cease, go off, as, disease, be revoked, as an order. To fail, miss, be fruitless, to break one's faith. అతడు ఈ పనిలో తిరిగినాడు he was engaged in this business. వానికి ఒళ్లు తిరిగినది he felt giddy, he was sick, or vomited. మధ్యతిరుగు to intercede, act between others, be an agent. వానికి నోరు బాగా తిరగదు he does not pronounce well. ఆ మాట నా నోట్లో తిరగదు. I cannot pronounce that word. కావలితిరుగు to stand sentry. తిరగదీయు to tamper with or corrupt a witness తమ మాటకు తిరుగులేదు you are supreme: your word is law. హుండి తిరిగిపోయినది the bill was dishonoured. చుక్కలు తిరిగినది the stars have turned, i.e., it is past midnight. తిరుగాణి (తిరుగు+ఆణి.) a screw. సందుల తిరిగిరి they went round by the alleys. తిరుగు v. a. The turning flower, i.e., the sun flower. A sort of gold jewel worn by women. తిరుగుడుత్రాడు a noose, ఉరి, ఉచ్చు. తిరుగుదల tirugudala. n. Rebellion, resistance. తిరుగబడు or తిరగబడు tiruga-baḍu. v. t. To turn against, to rebel against, to oppose, to attack angrily. తిరగబాటు or తిరుగబాటు tiraga-bāṭu. n. Disobedience, rebellion, turning against. తిరగబోయు or తిరుగబోయు tiraga-bōyu. v. a. To spice, or season (a curry.) తిరగబోత or తిరుగబోత tiraga. n. Seasoning, putting spice, &c., to food. తిరగవేయు or తిరుగవేయు tiraga-vēyu v. a. To turn a thing over. తిరుగ or తిరుగా tiruga. adv. Again. తిరుగడ tirugaḍa. (తిరుగు+గడ.) n. A pipe which is turned by a screw. మరపెట్టినగొట్టము. తిరుగలి or తిరగలి tirugali. (తిరుగు+కల్లు.) n. A hand mill. (or తిరుగు+కలి.) Turning భ్రమము. తిరుగుబోతు tirugu-bōtu. n. A rambler, rover, giddy fool. తిరుగుమొరుగు or తిరుగుమరుపు tirugu-morugu. n. An intricacy, refinement. Ila. iii. 16. తిరుగుమొగము tirugu-mogamu. n. Turning away the face. విముఖము. తిరుగుపారు tirugu-pāru. v. t. To surround. పరివేష్టించు.

(p. 1217) veḷlu vellu. [Tel. short for వెడలు.] v. n. To go, proceed, depart. To pass, or elapse. To be emitted. పోవు. కడువువెళ్లుచున్నది the bowels are loose. నాలుగుదినములు వెళ్లినతర్వాత after four days passed. కడవెళ్ల చదివినాడు he read it to the end. పొలిమేర వెళ్లదొక్కు to read the boundary line, i.e., to settle the boundary. వెళ్లగక్కు veḷl-gakku. v. a. To vomit up, disgorge, refund, వమనముచేయు, మళ్లియిచ్చివేయు. వెళ్లజేయు, వెళ్లగొట్టు or వెళ్లించు veḷla-jēyu. v. a.
