(p. 178) ṛṇamu ṛiṇamu. [Skt.] n. Debt, obligation. A claim, a title or lien. ఇంతకున్ను ఇక్కడి నీళ్ల ఋణము ఎన్ని రోజులు ప్రాప్తి ఉన్నదో besides I know not how much longer it is my fate to dwell here. ఋణపడు ṛiṇa-paḍu. v. n. To get into debt. ఋణముచేయు ṛiṇamu-chēyu. v. a. To contract a debt, to borrow. ఋణముతీర్చు ṛiṇamu-tīrṭsu. To discharge a debt. ఋణత్రయము the three kinds of obligation, viz., దేవఋణము, ఋషిఋణము and పితృఋణము. ఋణవిముక్తుడు ṛiṇa-vimuktuḍu. n. One who is free from debt. ఋణస్థుడు. or ఋణి or ఋణికుడు ṛiṇasthuḍu. n. A debtor. ఋణార్ణము ṛiṇārṇamu. n. A debt contracted to pay off another debt. అప్పు తీర్చుటకై చేసిన అప్పు.

(p. 535) tīru tīru. [Tel.] v. n. To end, stop, cease, elapse. To be finished, ended, complete, or ready. To be paid, delivered, discharged, avenged. To be qualified, accomplished, finished, adorned, trim, decked. To be gratified, satiated, wreaked (as passion;) to be assuaged or allayed, to go off. ముగియు, చిక్కబడు. తనివితీర to the full; so as to satisfy one's desires. తీరలేదు it came to nothing, it was ineffectual. కోరికతీసి having gained his end. ఇది నాచేత తీరదు this is out of my power. నాకు తీరీతీరక ఉన్నది I am hardly at leisure. తీరిపోవు to die. To be practicable, or possible. అక్కడికి రాతీరదు I cannot come there, I have not leisure to come. రాకుంటే తీరదు (you) must positively come. వెళ్లక తీరదు I cannot help going. తీరినగుండెగా నున్నాడు he is quite hackneyed. తీరా tirā. (Root in A of తీరు, with the intensive affix ఆ) adv. Ultimately, at last; fairly; just, merely, in short, simply. తీరా మధ్యాహ్నమయ్యేటప్పటికి when it was high noon. ఆ గోడ తీటా పడ్డది the wall actually fell down. తూరా పండుకొనేటప్పటికి when he was fairly asleep. ఆ సంగతి తీరా బయటపడేటప్పటికి when the matter at last became known. తీరా చెల్లించెను he paid it in full. తీరిక or తీరికె tīrika. n. Leisure. పనిలేక యూరకుండుట. తీరికచిక్కిన having no leisure. Adorning, trimming, decoration. దిద్దడము. తీరిన tīrina adj. Full. finished, accomplished, cured, settled. తీరు. n. Manner, way, mode, fashion, style, arrangement, విధము. Beauty చక్కన. వాడు బకతీరుమనిడషి he is an odd man. వాడుబకతీరుగానున్నాడు ఒకతీరుగానున్నాడు he is but so and so, he is not well, he is not at ease. ఈ తీరు thus. తీరుతప్పి ఉన్నాడు it is all over with him. తీరుగా tirugā. adv. Properly, duly, aright. దాని ముక్కుకండ్లు తీరుగానున్నవి her nose and eyes are pretty. తీరుగడ or తీరుదల tīru-gaḍa. n. Ending. ముగియుట. తీరుపు or తీర్పు tīrupu. n. End, finishing. To destroy నాశముచేయు. వాయసముతీర్చినది the crow gave a good omen (by crossing my path from left to right.) కోపమునుతీర్చు to revenge oneself, wreak one's anger. చలముతీర్చు, పగతీర్చు to satiate spite. దాహముతీర్చు to quench thirst. తమిదీర్చి satiating one's lusts. వాని పని తీర్చినారు they settled his business or they ruined him. తీర్చుకొను tīrṭsu-konu. v. a. To end, do away with. To settle or pay up as a debt, &c. తీర్పించు tīrpinṭsu. v. a. To cause to decide, or determine.

(p. 1192) viśramamu or విశ్రామము vi-ṣramamu. [Skt.] n. Rest, repose, cessation from fatigue or work. విశ్రాంతి, ఊరట. In Telugu verse, it denotes a certain kind of rhyme. ఛందస్సులోయతి, పద్యవిరామము. విశ్రమించు vi-ṣraminṭsu. v. n. To rest, repose, or refresh oneself. అలయికతీర్చుకొను, ఊరడిల్లు, విశ్రమింపజేయు vi-ṣramimpa-jēyu. v. a. To place, lay, పరుండబెట్టు. 'వికృత కృష్ణాజనముపయిన్ విశ్రమింపజేసి.' Jaimini. Bh. vi. 93. విశ్రాంతము vi-ṣrāntamu. adj. Rested, reposed, refreshed after fatigue, శ్రమవిరతము, అలయికతీర్చుకోబడిన, ఊరడిల్లిన, విశ్రాంతి vi-ṣrānti. n. Rest, repose, refreshment. ఊరట, అలయికతీర్చుకోనడము. (p. 1381) haṭhamu haṭhamu. [Skt.] n. Obstinacy, violence, severity, contumacy. మూర్ఖత, మొండితనము, ముష్కరత. బలాత్కారము. A kind of meditation, యోగభేదము. హఠముసాధించు to presevere in obstinacy. హఠము తీర్చుకొను to pay a grudge. హఠముపట్టు to be obstinate. adj. Stubborn, obstinate, pertinacious, resolute, determined. ముర్ఖమైన, మొండి, పిడివాదముగల. హఠంబుగా haṭhambu-gā. adv. Pertinaciously, stubbornly. మూర్ఖముగా, ముష్కరముగా. 'స్థాణుండైన హఠంబుగా నిలువకుండన్ ద్రోతురు.' T. ii. 18. హతయోగము haṭha-yōgamu. n. Abstract contemplation, whilst suspending the breath. This is generally a method of austre devotion, such as standing on one leg, holding up the arms, inhaling smoke, with the head inverted, &c. It is opposed to Raja yogam. కఠినమైన తపస్సు. హఠవాది haṭha-vādi. n. A violent man, a determined or obstinate man. పట్టిన పట్టు విడువనివాడు. హఠాత్, హఠాత్తుగా or హఠాత్తున haṭhāt. adv. Suddenly, unawares. దబ్బున, లటక్కున అదరిపాటున, హఠాత్కరించు haṭhāt-kar-inṭsu. v. a. To force, compel, ravish. బలాత్కారముచేయు. హఠారంబుగా haṭhārambu-gā. adv. Violently, fiercely. ఉగ్రముగా. 'కఠారంబుల గఠోరంబుగా గ్రుచ్చుచు, కఠారంబుల హఠారంబు గానరుకుచు.' BRY. 647.
