(p. 160) unmūlamu un-mūlamu. [Skt.] adj. Radical. or from the root వేరుతెగిన. ఉన్మూలముగా radically, by the roots. ఉన్మూలించు un-mūlinṭsu. v. t. To root up, eradicate, destroy. పెల్లగించు. ఉన్మూలితము unmūlitamu. adj. Eradicated, pulled up by the roots. వేరుతో పెల్లగింపబడిన.

(p. 521) tāḍu or త్రాడు tādu. [Tel.] n. A cord, thread, string. A match for a gun. The palm tree, so called because cordage is made from it. See under తాటి. The cord of marriage, being the string round the bride's neck, from which the పుస్తె or tali is hung. Hence తాడు తెగిన (lit. cord broken) means widowed. అగ్గితాడు or జేనకితాడు a match, made of cord dipped in brimstone.

(p. 546) tegi tegi. [Tel.] n. Courage. సాహసము. 'నీ తెగిలేనిబీరముల్ తెచ్చిపెట్టుకులంబు క్రుంగద్రొక్కెడువాడు కొడుకుకాడు.' R. vii. 73.

A piece of wood, shaped like a racquet used to stir boiling food, a wooden spoon, a ladle. కొయ్యగరిటె. బల్లెపు తెడ్లు spears. తెగించినవానికి తెడ్డే లింగము he is a stubborn man. తెడ్డుమూతికొంగ teḍḍu-mūti-konga. n. (p. 571) truṭanamu truṭanamu. [Skt.] n. Breaking. M. XII. vi. 513. తెగుట. త్రుటి truṭi. n. A twinkle, an instant. One fourth the time that it takes to pronounce a short letter. లఘ్వక్షరములో నాలుగోభాగమును ఉచ్చరించునంతకాలము. త్రుటితము truṭi-tamu. adj. Broken. తెగిన.

(p. 756) pimmaṭa or పిమ్మటము pimmaṭa. [Tel.] n. Stupor, grief. మూర్ఛావస్థ, అచైతన్యము, విస్మయజన్యస్తభ్ధత, మనోవ్యధ, మానుపడడము. 'బిట్టుల్కిమూర్ఛిల్లి పిమ్మటబొంది.' BD. v. 257. 'తనకు బిమ్మటమైన నర్జునునిబాహు, లీలయిమ్మెయి ద్రోవంగలేకతెగియె, నధిపయాబోతు బెబ్బులికగ్గమైన, పగిదియయ్యె బాండవులకు పగయణంగె.' M. VIII. i. 5.

(p. 794) pēgu or ప్రేగు pēgu. [Tel.] n. An entrail, gut, or bowel. Generally used in the plural: పేగులు. పేగులు తెగేటట్టు పరుగెత్తినాడు he ran so fast as to break his wind. పేగులు తెగిన గుర్రలు a broken winded horse. అది నా పేగు గనుక నా మనసు తాళలేదు as it was my own child I could not endure to see this. పేగులుతెగ నవ్వినాడు he is ready to split his sides with laughter. పేగునపట్టినతీట rankling or piercing pain. మేమందరము ఒక పేగు we are all sons of the same womb. పేగెక్కుట the wringing of the belly. ఆ బిడ్డకు పేగుపడినది the child is suffering from spasams. పేగుతట్టు or తోము to handle or rub the belly to remove pain. పేగు౛ారు pēgu-ḍzāru. v. n. To have rupture or hernia, బుడ్డదిగు.

(p. 818) pōṭu pōṭu. [Tel.] n. A thrust, a stab, a blow. పొడుపు. కత్తిపోటు. A throb of pain. పోదుపు, నొప్పి. The swell of a river, or of the sea, the flow of the tides, high water, సముద్రోల్పణము, నద్యాదులజలవృద్ధి. Heroism, courage, శౌర్యము. A battle, యుద్ధము. వాడు ఇప్పుడు కొంచెము పోటుమీద నున్నాడు he is now drunk. 'నా కొడుకు పోటుమాటలు, నీకేటికి పొసగవాడ.' M. IV. v. 258. పోటుమాటలు అనగా ఎత్తిపొడుపుమాటలు. చెవిపోటు chevi-pōṭu. n. Ear-ache. ఆ కురుపు పోట్లు పొడుస్తున్నది the boil is throbbing. పోటాపోటీ pōṭā-pōṭī. n. Rivalry, emulation, competition, నీకంటే నాకనిపయిబడడము. వానికి నిన్న దర్భపోటుతగిలినది he was invited to the ceremony held on the anniversary of a man's father's death. పోటుపాటు ఎరిగినవాడు one who knows both sides of the question పోటాడు or పోటొగ్గు to get ready for battle. రణోద్యోగము చేయు. పోటుకంబము pōṭu-kambamu. n. A post or pillar which is set up as a prop, ఊతగానిలిపినస్తంభము. పోటుకలుపు pōṭu-kalupu. n. A second weeding, రెండవమారు తీయు కలుపు. పోటుకాడు, పోటుబంటు, పోటుమగడు or పోటుమానిసి pōṭu-kāḍu. n. A hero, a courageous man, శూరుడు. పోటుకోల pōṭu-kōla. n. A sharp pointed stick used as a prop. 'వలలును దెరలు ప్రోగులు చుట్టగాలేదు, పోటుకోలొకటియు బుచ్చలేదు, తెగిన మెకంబుల తేలేదు.' Dhurjati. iii. 96. పోటుగంప pōṭu-gampa. n. A large basket. పోటుపాటు pōṭu-pāṭu. n. The ebb and flow of a tide. Paidim. i. 86. 'నీపోటుపాటున నిపుడిట్లు మమ్ము బోరించితివి.' HD. ii. 1196. నీపోటుపాటున, నీవెచ్చి తగ్గుటచేతను. పోటెక్కించినవాడు pōt-ekkinchina-vāḍu. n. An assailant, one who attacks. ఎదిరించి పైకి వచ్చేవాడు.' పోటెక్కించినవారిమీద ప్రయోగించినవాని సమరపతి వధియించుననియును బెద్దలవలన వినియుందుము.' M. VII. iii. 96. పోటొడ్డు pōt-oḍḍu. v. n. To face in battle, to oppose. యుద్ధానిముఖుడగు. 'పొడిసింగరాజు పోటొడ్డినాడు.' Pal. 410. పోట్లాట pōḷl-āṭa. (పోటులు+ఆట.) n. Fighting; a struggle, dispute, యుద్ధము, కొట్టాట. పోట్లాడు or పోటులాడు pōṭl-āḍu. v. n. To fight, to battle, to struggle, to come to blows. యుద్ధముచేయు. పోట్లావు pōṭl-āvu. n. A cow that butts, పొడిచే స్వభావముగల ఆవు పోటరి or పోటరికాడు pōṭari. (పోటు+అరి.) n. A hero, a brave man. శూరుడు. 'పోటరులైనభర్త లేవురు గలరంటి.' M. IV. ii. 264. పోటరితనము pōṭari-tanamu. n. (p. 885) bimmaṭa , బిమ్మటము or బిమ్మటి bimmaṭa. [Tel.] n. Stupor, grief. మూర్ఛావస్థ, అచైతన్యము. వివశత, విస్మయజన్యస్తబ్ధత, మ్రానుపడుట. Doubt, suspicion, misgiving, సంకోచము. 'తనకుబిమ్మటమైననర్జునునిబాహు, లీలయిమ్మెయి ద్రోవంగలేకతెగియె, నధిపయాబోతు బెబ్బులికగ్గమైన, పగిదియయ్యె బాండవులకు పగయణంగె.' M. VIII. i. 5. adj. (p. 1034) moṇḍi moḍi. [Tel.] adj. Maimed, crippled, defective, imperfect. చేతులు కాళ్లు తెగిన, అంగహీనమైన. Bare; lopped. Blunt. blunted, మొక్కపోయిన. Stubborn, obstinate, perverse, pertinacious, impertinent, incorrigible, unmanageable, ungovernable, refractory, unruly, మూర్ఖమైన. మొండిమాటలు stubborn or rude language. మొండిపిల్లకాయ an obstinate or refractory boy. మొండిగోడలు bare walls. మొండిగంటము a blunt stylus. మొండి చెయి a maimed hand. మొండిచేతులు bare hands, i.e., hands without any ornament. మొండితోక a docked tail. మొండిమెడ a bare neck, i.e., without any necklace. వానిది మొండిప్రాణము he is tenacious of life. మొండికట్టె or మొండరి monḍi-katṭe. n. A stubborn wretch. మూర్ఖుడు. మొండిచేయి, మొండాడు or మొండాటలాడు monḍi-chēyu. v. n. To be unruly; to oppose. ఆ గుర్రము మొండిచేస్తున్నది the horse is stubborn. మొండితనము monḍi-tanamu. n. Stubbornness, obstinacy. మూర్ఖత్వము. మొండిపారిన monḍi-pārina. adj. Callous. కాయకాచిన. మొండిపురుగు monḍi-purugu. n. The 'stumpy' snake, or Amphisbœna, which looks as if the tail was lopped off. మొండు Another form of మొండి. మొండెము or మొండియము monḍemu. n. A stump. The trunk of a body after the head is lopped off. శిరస్సులేని శరీరము, కజంధము. A fragment, a limb lopped off, a separated member, ఖండము. మొండెపుగాము monḍepu-gāmu. n. An epithet of Rāhu. రాహువు.

(p. 1061) rampu rampu. [Tel.] n. A squabble, wrangle, plague, scrape. పీకులాట, రచ్చ, కలకలము, పోరు ఏవేళ యిదేవానిరంపు this is his constant theme. ఏవేళను దీనిరంపేరంపు she has an endless tongue, she is a constant plague. రంపిల్లు or రంపిలు rampillu. v. n. To contend. వాపోవు, పోరాడు. 'సీ తెగిన సోకుడుమూక మగిడి నాబలువిద్దె పెంపున బ్రదికిరంపిల్లుచుండ.' Yayati. iii. 107. To spread, extend, వ్యాపించు. To increase. వర్ధిల్లు, అతిశయించు, విజృంభించు. To chatter, prattle, make an uproar.
