(p. 32) aṭṭahāsamu aṭṭa-hāsamu. [Skt.] n. Violent, phrenzied laughter. Vehement action, exceeding effort or exertion. Toil, pains, laborious efforts. Pomp. 'అట్టహాసంబున నడరెడు తెరనూరు.' N. ix. 31. నా కూతురిని పంపితేనేగాని కూడదని అట్టహాసము చేస్తాడు he protests violently that his daughter shall go with him. రాజు బహు అట్టహాసముతో బయలుదేరినాడు the king set out with great pomp. అట్టహాసకాడు n. A pompous or ostentatious man.

(p. 549) tera tera. [Tel.] n. A screen, curtain, a blind. A veil, a cover of any kind. సురుగుచీర, అడ్డువల. A plain or space. బయలు. A billow or surge అల. దోమతెర a mosquito curtain. నాతెర the lips. N. ix. 404. బిత్తరముగ bittaramu-ga. adv. Flashingly. ప్రకాశముగా. Gracefully, సొగసుగా. 'సరిగె మెరుంగుబంగరువు చందురు కానిపటంబులూడ్చి బిత్తరముగ చల్వపావడలు దాల్చి.' (p. 1011) mullu mullu. [Tel.] n. A thorn, a spur, a prickle. A fish bone, a spine. The tongue of a balance. A small needle or pin, as the hand of a watch or clock. ముల్లిడు to plant thorns. A. iv. 265. ముల్లిడి setting up a hedge. చుట్టూకంపవేసి. ముండ్లుపోయిన గడియారము a clock that has lost its hands. ముల్లాడించు mull-āḍinṭsu. v. a. To chip (stone with a chisel.) To chisel. వడ్లముండ్లు the beards of grain. ముంటికత్తి a sharp instrument to extract thorns with. ముండ్లపంది a porcupine. ముండ్లబంతి or ములుబంతి a cluster of prickers used by thieves. 'కత్తెరనిసుము నక్షతలు ముండ్లబంతియు నీలికచ్చడమును.' BD. v. 676. ముల్లుచూపు or ములుచూపు mullu-ṭsūpu. v. n. To excel, అతిశయించు. To turn the balance, i.e., be superior. ముల్లాకురాయి mull-āku-rāyi. (ముల్లు + ఆకురాయి.) n. A rough file. ముల్లుచిత, ములుచిత or ముండ్లమునై mull-uchita. n. The name of a thorny plant. whose leaves are eaten. ఒకవిధమైన కూరాకు.

(p. 1215) veli veli. [Tel.] n. Whiteness, తెలుపు. The outside or exterior, బయట, బాహ్యము. The external surface of the body, దేహముయొక్క బహిఃప్రదేశము. Publicity, బయలుపాటు. Excommunication, or exclusion from caste, బహిష్కారము. మాలో వెలి అనేమాటలేదు excommunication is unknown in our caste. 'వెలికిగోర్కు లెల్లవిడిచిపెట్టి.' Vēma. 791. adj. White, తెల్లని. The white elephant of Indra, ఐరావితము. వలిచంట్ర The white species of the tree called చండ్ర వెలిచవి veli-ṭsavi. n. Adultery. జారత్వము. వెలితిప్ప veli-tippa. n. The silver mountain, Kailasa. వెండి కొండ, కైలాసము. వెలితుమ్మ the white species of the తుమ్మచెట్టు. వెలిదుక్కి veli-dukki. n. Ploughing land while it is moist with rain. నీళ్లుకట్టకుండావానతడితో దున్నడము. (Opposed to రొంపిదుక్కి.) వెలిపము Same as వలిపము. (q. v.) వెలిపుచ్చు or వెలిపరచు veli-putstsu v. a. (Indra's) white horse, (ఇంద్రుని) తెల్లగుర్రము, ఉచ్చైశ్శ్రవము. వెలిమావులు white mares. 'విమలాంబుదముల బూనిన విమానములనదగవెలసి వెలిమావులు.' M. VII. i. 228. 'వేరొక్క వెలిమావువేల్పుదొరకు.' R. i. 46. వెలిమిడి or వెల్మిడి veli-miḍi. (వెలి+మిడుగు.) n. The ashes of cow-dung fuel, ashes, పిడకనిప్పులబూడిద, భస్మము. 'తెలుపులన్నియు మేలుదెలియంగనిసుక వెలిమిడియెముకలు వెసనుప్పుపత్తి.' Madhura Puran. D. page. 78. వెలిమొట్ట veli-moṭṭa. n. A sort of fish, the 'white snout.' వెలిమొట్టలనుదండువల తలార్లకునిచ్చె కొడిసెలపరిహాసకులకు నిచ్చె.' G. i. 111. వెలిమ్రాను veli-mrānu. n.
