(p. 577) dakku dakku. [Tel.] v. n. To be available for enjoyement. అనుభివయోగ్యమగు. To fall to one's share or lot; to be saved, to escape. adj. Enjoyable. అనుభయోగ్యము. మీ ప్రాణములు దక్కవు your lives will not be saved. ఈ రూకలు దక్కనిచ్చేదారిలేదు I have no chance of keeping the money. దక్కొను dak-konu. (దక్కు+కొను.) v. n. To be independent. స్వంతంత్రుడగు. To happen, కలుగు. విక్ర. ii. దక్కించు dakkinṭsu. v. a. To rescue, preserve, defend, save, get, redeem. దక్కించుకొను. I get into one's possession, appropriate. to have. To secure for oneself. To digest. ఆ యిల్లు తనకు దక్కించుకొన్నాడు he got the house into his own hands. దక్కోలు dak-kōlu. n. Occurrence. కలుగుట, సంభవించుట. adj. Taken, usurped: స్వాధీనమైన. Possible, feasible, attainable. దక్కోలుగానిచ్చు dakkōlu-gā-n-iṭsṭsu. v. a. To offer in sacrifice: to present as a gift to a god. దక్కోలుపడు Same as దక్కొను.

(p. 592) digu digu. [Tel.] v. n. To come down from a higher place. To alight, drop, come or go down, descend from; to dismount. To be landed, unladen, or disembarked, as goods. దిగుమతియగు. To fail, break down, sink, fall back, fall in debt or arrears. దిగబడు. To lodge, dwell, halt, ప్రయాణమందు దారిలో విడియు. To distil, or drop down, as any secretion. To settle, as sediment or dregs. To abate, cease, go off, become less, diminish, as fatness. To sink, as ink in paper, or water in earth. To penetrate or go in, as a stab. To come forth, as fruit from the bud, as in మామిడికాయలు దిగుచున్నవి. ఒళ్లు దిగిపోయినది he is reduced by sickness. బుడ్డదిగినమనిషి a man with a rupture. దానికి నీళ్లు దిగవు she cannot swallow. మదముదిగిన యేనగు an elephant not in rut. ఆ పనిలో దిగినాడు he went into that business. Disembarkation, importation, landing of goods, ఓడలోని సరకులను రేవునందు దించుట. దిగుమతిచేయు to land, unship, import. దిగువ diguva. n. The under side. క్రింద. adj. Lower, inferior, under. adv. Below, under, కిందుగా, దిగువాయి diguvāyi. adj. Lower, inferior. తక్కువ. దిగువారు digu-vāru. (దిగుడు+పారు.) v. n. To fall down. మీదనుండిక్రిందికి పడు. To flow, కారు.

(p. 999) muṭṭu muṭtu. [Tel.] v. a. and v. n. To touch, తాకు. To attack as an enemy, శత్రువును తాకు. To touch or strike a sensitive part of the body, మర్మమునుతాకు. To besiege, ముట్టడించు. To be ended or finished, కడముట్టు. To arrive, be received, obtained. నాకు రూపాయిలు ముట్టలేదు I did not receive the rupees. ముట్టగొలుచు to worship to the end, or with unfailing devotion, కడవెళ్లకొలుచు. 'ముట్టగొలిచినఫలం బిట్టుండవలదె.' BD. v. 457. రాత్రి తుదముట్టగానే (Vasu. iv. 170.) as soon as night came to its close. ఇది తుదముట్టేదెన్నటికో when will this be finished? వానిని సర్పము ముట్టినది a snake bit him. n. Contact, touching, తాకుడు. Defilement by contact. Hence, the menses. A tool or instrument, ఉపకరణము. వానికి అంటుముట్టులేదు he does not care about being touched. పనిముట్టు or కొరముట్టు a tool. కన్నపుముట్టు (B. v. 807.) a house breaker's tool for boring walls adj. Defiling, foul, unclean, menstruous. ముట్టయిన menstruous. ముట్టుకొను muṭṭukonu. v. a. To touch, తాకు. To besiege, ముట్టడించు. To surround, encroach upon, ఆక్రమించు. ముట్టుకొలుపు muṭṭu-kolupu. v. a. To cause to touch or besiege. రామా. vi. ముట్టుకోలు muṭṭu-kōlu. n. A siege, ముట్టడి. ముట్టుకొలుగొను, ముట్టుకోల్గొను, ముట్టుకోలుపట్టు, ముట్టుకోల్పట్టు or ముట్టుకోలుపరుచు Same as ముట్టడించు. ముట్టుది or ముట్టుత muṭṭudi. n. A menstruous woman. ముట్టచెప్పు muṭṭacheppu. v. a. To assign. చెల్లగట్టు. నాకు పదిరూపాయలసొమ్ము ముట్టజెప్పినాడు. he paid or gave me ten rupees. ముట్టడి muṭṭaḍi. n. A siege, blockade. ఊరుచుట్టుకొని అరికట్టడము. ముట్టడించు or ముట్టడివేయు muṭṭaḍ-inṭsu. v. a. To besiege. ఊరుచుట్టుకొని అరికట్టుకొను. ముట్టడము or ముట్టణము muṭṭaḍamu. n. Compulsion, oppression, నిర్భంధము. The act of laying siege to a place, ముట్టడించుట. ముట్టించు muṭṭinṭsu. v. a. To cause to touch. To light a candle, to kindle, i.e., communicate (fire) తాకిమచు. ముట్టికాళ్లు muṭṭi-kāḷḷu. n. Knees that touch. ముట్టికాళ్లవాడు. a knock-kneed man. ముట్టికాళ్లువేసికొను to kneel down. ముట్టుపడు muṭṭu-paḍu. v. n. To be troublesome, సంకటమగు. ముట్టుపాటు muṭṭu-pāṭu. n. Trouble, సంకటము. ముట్టుసందు muṭṭu-sandu. n. A blind alley. ఆవల పోవుటకు దారిలేనిది.

(p. 1112) lō lō. [Tel.] prep. In, within, inside of, amongst, among, of. దారిలో on the road. ఇంటిలో or ఇంట్లో in the house. వచ్చినంతలో on his coming. అంతలో or ఇంతలో in the meantime. The word must be translated to suit the verb with which it is used. Thus, బిళ్లను మెడలో వేసుకొన్నాడు he wore the badge over his shoulder. తలలో వాగా చుట్టుకొన్నాడు he rolled the turban round his head. అత్తలోనుండి విభాగము కాలేదు she is not separated from her mother-in-law's family. ఇంతరాత్రిలో so late at night. తమలోతాము మాటాడుకోలేదు they did not speak to each other. వేలిలోనుండే ఉంగరము the ring on his finger. బిడ్డ నాపక్కలో పండుకొని ఉండినది the child lay down at my side. మాలో అందరు all of us. వాడు అందరిలో మంచివాడు he is the best of them all. (See లోను and లోని.) పనిలో మాట్లాడుట to talk during work, or while at work. చెట్టులో బంకకారుతున్నది gum flows from the tree. అతడు నాచేతిలో కోసినాడు he inflicted a wound on my hand. లో lō. adj. Inner, internal, inside. Inferior, or subordinate. లోగది an inner room. లోకావు a sub-renter or under farmer. లోచెయ్యి the inner hand, i.e., the palm of the hand. లోగొను to take inside, to receive, to contain within itself, లోపల నడచుకొను. లోమనుష్యుడు a reserved or self-contained man. లోగా lō-gā. adv. Within, inside, meanwhile, in the course of, లోపల. పదిదినములకులోగా within ten days. ఈలోగా meantime. ఇది వానికి చేరే లోగా before this reaches him. యాభైయేండ్లకులోగా before he was fifty years old.

(p. 1171) viḍiyu viḍiyu. v. n. To halt, alight, stay, lodge, వసించు,(ప్రయాణికులు దారిలో నొక చోట) దిగు, బసచేయు. To be separated, to become separate, వీడు. To slip, ౛ారు. విడియించు viḍyinṭsu. v. a. To lodge, place, cause to alight, దిగునట్లుచేయు, బసచేయించు, 'రయమునవృష్టికైయొదిగి రచ్చలపైవిడియింతురుగ్రతన్.' A. iv. 170. See విడిది.
