(p. 61) apadiśamu apa-diṣamu. [Skt.] n. A half point or quarter point or 'airt' of the compass; intermediate space. విదిక్కు, దిక్కోణము, దిక్కులనడిమి మూల, అయి మూల.

(p. 384) geṇṭu genṭu. [Tel.] v. n. To move, shake, stir, go. చలించు, తొలగు. 'ధరణీమండలమమ్మహాంబునిధిమీదన్ నిల్పినల్ దిక్కులన్ ధరణీధ్రమ్ములు గెంటకుండనిడి.' V. P. i. 78. v. a. To thrust, push away, force, cause to totter. To toss aside. చలించు, తొలగు. n. Movement చలనము. గెంటుపడు genṭu-paḍu v. n. To miss. తప్పుట. గెంటని genṭani. adj. Immoveable, not to be shaken (as love), resistless, irrepressible, not to be turned away. స్థిరమైన, ఎడతెగని. 'అక్కలకంతితమ్మరసమంటగ గెంటనిప్రేమ వానినున్ జెక్కులముద్దు పెట్టుకొని.' T. ii. 96. గెంటించు genṭinṭsu. v. t. To push. To cause one to be pushed or sent away. యశోదశయ్య నొయ్యనచిన్ని నల్లనయ్యనునిచిచయ్యననయ్యవ్యకూతు నెత్తుకొని మరల నింటికింగెంటింపక వచ్చి.' B. X. iii. 45.

(p. 786) peṭapeṭa peṭa-peṭa. [Tel. anuk.] n. A crashing or gnashing noise, a loud sound. కొయ్యమొదలైనవి బద్దలగుధ్వని. పెటపెటమను or పెటపెటలాడు peṭa-peṭa-m-anu. v. n. To produce a crashing sound. పెటపెట అను ధ్వనికలదిఅగు. పెటులు, పెటలు, పెటిలు or పెట్లు peṭulu. v. n. To crack or split, as paint, or as grain does when roasted. To explode or go off, as a gun. పగుళ్లుపారు, చిట్లు. 'కల్పాంత దీర్ఘనిర్ఘాతసంఘంబులు పెళపెళపెళమంచు పెటిలిపడిన.' N. iv. 244. పెట్లుక్రోవి, పెట్లదిమ్మె or పెట్లకంబము peṭlu-krōvi. n. A matchlock, a gun rocket or small cannon fixed in processions, అదురువేటుగొట్టము. పెట్లమారి petla-māri. n. One who makes himself or herself liable to be constantly beaten, దెబ్బలు తిను స్వభావముగలవాడు, లేక, స్వభావము గలది. పెట్లప్పు peṭl-uppu. n. Saltpetre, nitre. పెట్లుప్పుద్రావకము peṭl-uppu-drāvakamu. n. Nitric acid. పెటుకు or పెటుక్కు peṭuku. n. A snapping sound, పెటుక్కుమనేధ్వని. Disgust, విరసము. వెటులు or పెట్లు peṭulu. n. plu. The explosions or reports of a gun rocket. అదురువేట్లు. 'సీ పెటులుచప్పుడులాత్మ భీరుస్వయంగ్రాహ పరిరంభసుఖము ఖేచరులకొసగ.' Swa. v. 52. టీ పెటులుచప్పుడులు, అదురువేట్లధ్వనులు. పెటిలించు, పెటలించు or పెట్లించు peṭilinṭsu. v. a. To explode, to burst. పేలినల్దిక్కులను చెదరునట్లుచేయు. 'పేరినలవణంపు ఘట్టములు దృస్యదిరమ్మద దావముల్ దవుల్కొనిపెటిలించు నార్బటులకోయనగా.' A. iv. 122.

(p. 1154) vāyi rāyi. [Tel.] n. The mouth, నోరు. The face, ముఖము. The edge of any cutting instrument, కత్తియంచు. Wind, వాయువు; as కోరవాయి, మండవాయి. వాయివిళంగము the name of a tree. M. III. vi. 261. నీళ్లవాయి a valley or hollow through which a stream sometimes runs, నలుదిక్కులను కురియునీళ్లు వచ్చేదారి. నూతివాయికట్టు a parapet round a well, దవురుగోడ, పశ్వాదులుపడకుండా భావిచుట్టుకట్టినగోడ. Plu. వాతులు. వాత rāta. (Loc. of వాయి the mouth.) In the mouth. మీరు వచ్చేదాక మాకు వాత తడిలేదు there was no moisture in our mouth until you came, i.e., we were in terror until your arrival. వాణ్ని పిరంగివాతపెట్టినారు they blew him up from the mouth of a cannon. వాతరట్టు vāta-raṭṭu. n. A chatter box, వదురుబోతు. వాతవాడి vāta-vāḍī. n. An unpleasant talker. వాతి vāti. (Gen. of వాయి.) వాతికాసు vāti-kāsu. n. Hush-money, a bribe, లంచము. వాతిబియ్యము or వాతికాసుబియ్యము vāṭi-biyyamu. n. A few grains of rice put in the mouth of a dead person when lying on the funeral pile. పీనుగునోటవేసే బియ్యము. వాయోడు vāy-ōḍu. v. n. To be unable to open the mouth, to be unable to talk, to be timid in speaking, to be bashful or reserved in speech. వాయోడక frankly, freely నోరు అణచుకొనకుండా. 'అత్తపదినెల వాయోడకకసరు బోరువారలతోడన్.'
