(p. 597) dīpamu dīpamu. [Skt.] n. A lamp a light. దీపముపెట్టు dīpamu-peṭṭu. v. n. To light a lamp. Metaphorically, to sustain a man's household. Also, to offer prayers for blessing on a benefactor: thus, తమ పాదాలకు దీపము పెట్టుకొంటాను. (Lit.) I will light a candle (in the chapel) to thy feet, i.e., I will offer thee worship of thankfulness. దీపకము dīpakamu. n. A light దీపము. adj. That which burns. వెలిగించునది. Omum seeds, ఓమము, వాము. Also. used for దీమము. (q. v.) దీపవల్లి dīpa-ralli. n. The wick of a lamp. దీపపువత్తి. దీపవృక్షము dīpa-vriksḥamu. n. A candelabrum, al lamp-stand. దీపస్తంభము. దీపారాధన dīp-ārādhana. n. The rite of offering a light to a god. The lighting up lamps at a shrine. దీపావళి (దీప+ఆవలి.) dīp-āvali. n. Lit: A row of lights, i.e., A feast held on the 14th day of the dark fortnight (bahula) in Aswayuja (answering to Oct. Nov.) wherein is commemorated the నరకాసురవధ. దీపించు. dīp-inṭsu. v. n. To shine, to be evident. to be distinguished or glorious. దీపిక dīpika. n. A lamp, a light. దీపము. ఆంధ్ర దీపిక the Lamp of Telugu, the name of a Telugu Dictionary. నీతిదీపిక lit. 'The lamp of Morals.' దీప్తి dīpti. n. Lustre. brilliancy. కాంతి, వెలుగు. దీప్యము dip-yamu. n. Cummin seed. ఓమము, జీలకర్ర.

(p. 692) pagaṭu pagaṭu. [Tel.] v. a. To proclaim, ప్రకటించు. n. Brightness, brilliance, దీప్తి, ప్రకాశము. Beauty, లావణ్యము. Joy, మురిపెము. Pride, పొగరు, గర్వము. A quarrel, wrangling. విరోధము. (p. 723) palaka palaka. [Tel.] Any flat surface of face. స్తంభము. మొదలైనవాని యొక్క ఒకవైపు. ఎనిమిదిపలకలకంబము an eight sided pillar. A plank, board, table, బల్ల. A board used as a slate in schools. A writing tablet, వ్రాయుపలక. A slab or flat stone. One side of any polygon, as of a lantern. A gambling table. ౛ూదమాడుబల్ల. The bar of wood in a loom that strikes the weft close after the shuttle has passed. A tom-tom. A shield, డాలు. 'ఆనిశిత భల్లములు తన మేనికిరాకుండ బలకమెరయ ౛డిరుండు భీముండుతృంచె మదంబారగ వాలునుంబలకయున్ శీఘ్రసందీప్తుడే.' M. IX. i. 154 'బలదుర్వారుండు భీముండుతృంచె మదంబారగవాలునుంబలకయు.' ib. The total, whole; a flock, multitude, heap, or collection. సమూహము, గుంపు. శూరులమొత్తము a multitude of heroes. కోతిమొత్తము a herd of monkeys. వింటిమొత్తము a heap of bows. మంటమొత్తము a mass of flames. 'మంచుమొత్తములోన మార్తాండుడున్నట్టు.' Kālahas. §. 22. మంచుమొత్తములోన, in a mass of clouds, మేఘచయమందు. 'మెరుపుమొత్తంబులు మీరెనుత్తరమున.' Zacca. iv. 26. మొత్తముగా చెప్పినాడు he spoke in general. మొత్తపు వ్యయము the total expenditure. మొత్తపుమాట a generic word. మొత్తముచేయు to make a total. మొత్తములై in mobs. 'పులులు మొత్తంబులై పొదరిండ్లలో దూరు.' B. VIII. adj. Thick, తరుచైన. మొత్తపుదీప్తులు big lights.

(p. 1049) mraṅgu or మ్రంగబడు mrangu. [Tel.] v. n. To decrease, be abated, be humbled. క్రుంగు, వ్రాలు, తగ్గు, మట్టుపడు. (p. 1094) lampaṭa or లంపటము lampaṭa. [Tel.] n. Pain, trouble, weariness, బాధ, తొందర, ఆయాసము. Danger, ఆపద. 'సూర్యదీప్తివలన శోషిల్లుచున్న పద్మాకరంబులెల్లనతిశయిల్లె. పెక్కులంపటములజిక్కిమమత్వముల్ మానకున్న జనులమనసులట్ల.' Vish. vii. 228. లంపటపడు lampaṭa-paḍa. v. n. To take pains. శ్రమపడు. లంపటుడు lampaṭuḍu. n. One who loves, one who is given up to or eager for, అత్యాసక్తికలవాడు, మిక్కిలి ఆశగలవాడు. స్త్రీలంపటుడు a whoremonger, a libertine, a gallant. 'రాజ్యసుఖలంపటుడై.' URT. iii. 111.
