(p. 38) aḍḍamu aḍḍamu. [Tel.] n. Obstacle, hindrance, A screen. అభ్యంతరము, ఆటంకము, చటు. A pledge తాకట్టు నీ మాటకు అడ్డము లేదు no one will resist you. వాండ్లకు మాకు గోడ అడ్డముగా ఉండినది there was a wall between them and us. ఒక నగను అడ్డము పెట్టి యిరువైరూపాయలు తెచ్చినాడు he pawned a jewel and got twenty rupees. నా పనికి అడ్డము వచ్చినాడు he opposed my endeavours. మొగుణ్ని అడ్డముపెట్టుకొని తానే అన్ని పనులు చూచుకొనిపోయినది she used her husband as a screen and carried on the business. వాడు తండ్రికి అడ్డమాడుతాడు he opposes or contradicts his father. తిరుపతికి పోయేలోగా మూడేళ్లు అడ్డమువస్తవి there are three rivers to cross on the way to Tirupati. ఏదో ఒకటి వచ్చి అడ్డముపడినది something has got in the way. వానికి అడ్డము తగిలినారు they interrupted him. కొంతదూరము దోవనే పోయి అవతల అడ్డము తిరిగినాడు or అడ్డము తొక్కినాడు he went along some way and then cut across. 'కరాగ్రములు దృష్టులకడ్డమిడుచు.' BD. iv. 1532. అడ్డముగా aḍḍamu-gā. [Tel.] adv. Crosswise, across, transversely. చెట్టు కండ్లకు అడ్డముగానున్నది the tree intercepts the view, నేను అడ్డముగా నిలిస్తిని I stood in his way.

(p. 44) adṛśyata a-drisyata. [Skt.] n. Invisibility. అగుపడమి. ఆయన అదృశ్యతను పొందినాడు he disappeared or vanished. అదృశ్యము a-drisyamu. [Skt.] adj. Invisible. అగుపడని అదృశ్యుడు a-drisyuḍu. [Skt.] n. One who has disappeared or vanished.

(p. 44) adṛṣṭamu a-drishṭamu. [Skt.] n. Fortune, luck, chance, fate. భాగ్యము దురదృష్టము bad luck. అదృష్టవంతుడు or అదృష్టశాలి or అదృష్టపురుషుడు a fortunate man. అదృష్టహీనుడు an unfortunate man. అదృష్టఫలము the consequence of (one's) good luck.

(p. 47) adhōdṛṣṭi [Skt.] a downward look; a down cast look.

(p. 49) ananyamu an-anyamu. [Skt.] adj. One, sole, without any other, same, identical. ఏకమైన, అనితరమైన, అదే అనన్యవిషయము exclusively applicable. అనన్యగతికుడు n. He who has only one refuge or asylum. వేరేగతిలేనివాడు. అనన్యాదృశము n. adj. Not seen elsewhere. Unparalleled, prodigious, strange. అసమానమైన, వింతైన.

(p. 55) anupamamu an-upamamu. [Skt.] adj. Incomparable, unrivalled, unparalleled. అసదృశ్యమైన, ఈడుకాని. అనుపమితము uncompared, that cannot be compared, matchless.

(p. 68) abhāgyamu a-bhāgyamu. [Skt.] adj. Unfortunate, luckless, wretched. దౌర్భాగ్యమైన, దురదృష్టమైన.

(p. 72) abhēdamu a-bhēdamu. [Skt.] adj. Identical, similar, alike. అదే. వబయోరభేదము. 'V and B are alike:' that is, many words use either letter at pleasure: లీడయోర భేదము, i.e., L and D are alike: thus we may write నాలికేరము nālikēramu, or నాడికేరము nāḍikēramu. అభేదము n. Identity, similarity. భేదములేమి, ఐక్యత. అభేద్యము adj. Solid, indivisible, impenetrable. దృఢమైన, భేదింపశక్యముకాని.

(p. 101) asadṛśamu a-sadruṣamu. [Skt.] adj. Incomparable. అసమానమైన, సాటిలేని.

(p. 101) asamamu a-samamu. [Skt.] adj. Unequal, unequal either in surface or number, uneven, unrivalled: సమముకాని, అసదృశమైన, విషయమైన. అసమనేత్రుడు asamanētruḍu n. An epithet of Siva, the god who has an extra eye. శివుడు. అసమశరుడు asama-ṣaruḍu n. An epithet of Cupid. మన్మథుడు.

(p. 113) ādaramu or ఆదరణ ādaramu. [Skt.] n. Respect, reverence, kindness. మన్నన. ఆదరించు or ఆదరణ ādarinṭsu. v. t. To be gracious, to relieve, cure. ఆదరణీయము ādaraṇīyamu. adj. Worthy of respect. సాదరముగా (స+ఆదరముగా) with kindness, graciously. ఆదృతము ādrutamu. [Skt.] adj. Respected. ఆదృతి ādruti. n. Respect, inclination.
