(p. 512) tarimiḍi , తరివిణి, తరిమెన or తరిమెనదొడ్డి tarimiḍi. [Tel.] n. A lathe. In compounds it is contracted into తరి. తరిమిడిపట్టు or తరిమెనపట్టు tarimiḍi-paṭṭu. v. n. To turn in a lathe.

(p. 557) tokku or త్రొక్కు tokku. [Tel.] v. n. & a. To step, tread, or perform a dance, అణగదొక్కుట (A. ii. 104.) to pound, stamp, trample on, crush, macerate. పొరుగిల్లుతొక్కక not entering your neighbour's house. పొలిమేరతొక్కు to lay down or define a boundary line by treading on it. కొమ్మతొక్కు to lay down suckers or branches from a tree. తొక్కిచూచు to go and examine in person: to inspect personally. దిగదొక్కు to blink or put out of view, to suppress. తొక్కు. n. Paste, pickle. తొక్కించు or త్రొక్కించు tok-kinṭsu. v. a. A threshold. దొడ్డి తొక్కుకొనిపోయినది it broke out of the fold. తొక్కుపలుకులు lisping words. బిడ్డలువచ్చీరాక అదేమాటలు. తొక్కుడుబిళ్లలు tokkuḍu-biḷḷalu. n. A certain game. తొక్కులాడు tokku-l-āḍu. v. n. To grieve, to be in trouble. తొక్కులాడుచునడుచుట to trudge on, plod, to get on with difficulty.

(p. 598) duṅga dụnga. [Tel.] n. block, clog, or piece of wood. కర్రమొద్దు. తరిమెన దొడ్డిదుంగలు the bits or side pieces in a lathe. వానికేమి బాగా దుంగవలె ఉన్నాడు he is as stout and strong as a log of wood.

(p. 610) doḍḍi doḍḍi. [Tel.] n. A yard. A backyard, a stable or byre. పెరడు. adj. Crooked, వంకరయైన. దొడ్డికాళ్లు bandy legs, పంగటి కాళ్లు. దొడ్డివల a kind of net, ఒకదినుసువల. కాళ. iii.

(p. 610) doḍḍu [Tel.] Same as దొడ్డ. (q. v.). దొడ్డు వారు doḍḍu-vāru. (దొడ్డు+పారు.) v. n. To become great, to great, to increase. అధికమగు.

(p. 686) paṅga panga. [Tel.] n. A fork, as the forked branch of a tree. పంగగా panga-gā. (adv.) Astride, with the legs apart. పంగటి pangaṭi. adj. Stretching out like the prongs of a fork. 'అనుకు వెల్లడిగందమున నాభి నుండి మూపులదాక పంగటి పూతపూతి.' Vaija. iv. 57. పంగటించు panga-tinṭsu. v. n. To straddle or open the legs far apart; to sprawl. పంగటికాళ్లవాడు pangaṭi-kālla-vāḍu. n. A bandy-legged man. దొడ్డికాళ్లు గలవాడు. పంగనామము a fork-like mark worn on the forehead by the Vaishnavaites, పడుమ ఎడము గల్పు పంగివలె తీర్చిన తిరుమణి, as distinguished from పంగనామము, a mark which has no broad fork like branches. పంగలుగుంజ a forked post such as rafters rest on. పంగలకర్ర a forked stick. మూడుపంగలయీటె a trident shaped spear.

(p. 727) pallaṭi or పల్టీ pallaṭi. [H.] n. A sumersault. ౛క్కిణి సాధనవిశేషము. Tumbling (as of a pigeon in the air), bounding or skipping. పైకెగసి పిల్లిమంతరములు వేయుట. A pigeon called a Tumbler. 'తెల్లపావురమిది తెలివిగల్గినది, పల్లటీల్ వైచు నాపందెంబు జూడు.' Sāranga. 58. 'బలసికూరెలుదొడ్డీలు పల్లటీలు, పావురాయలు బకదార్లుబట్టిగాండ్లు.' H. v. 166. పల్లటీల్గొను. పల్లటీల్దాటు or పల్లటీల్ వైచు pallaṭīl-gonu. To tumble, as a pigeon, to throw a summersault.

(p. 749) pāṣāṇamu pāshāṇamu. [Skt.] n. A stone. (In Telugu), Poison. నా జీవనములో పాషాణము వేయుదువా do you wish to throw a stone (or poison) into my food? శంకుపాషాణము or తెల్లపాషాణము white arsenic, Arsenicum album, (Watts.) There are four drugs known in the shops by these names: ఉల్లిపాషాణము corrosive sublimate, నెల్లిపాషాణము, దొడ్డిపాషాణము and గౌరీపాషాణము పాషాణత్వము pāshāṇatvamu. n. Stoneness, the being a stone, పాషాణదారణము pāshāṇa-dāraṇamu. n. A stone chisel, కాసె ఉలి. పాషాణభేది pāshāṇa-bhēdi. n. A stone cutter, a hewer of stone. 'అపుడు పాషాణభేదులకర్థమిచ్చి, ఠీవి నొక దేవశంబు గట్టించిరపుడు.' H. i. 208.

(p. 784) peṇṭa penṭa. [Tel.] n. A heap, as of dirt, sweepings of manure. ఎరువు. Ash, a dunghill. పీనుగుపెంటలు heaps of corpses. పెంటకట్టు to manure land, to dung a field by penning sheep or goats in it. పెంటకై మందకట్టు, గెత్తముపెట్టు, మందఆపు. పెంటపట్టు or పెంట penṭa-paḷḷu. n. An enclosure in which a herd of cattle or a flock of sheep are kept, పసులులోనగు వానిదొడ్డి. Also, a suburb or village, పేట; as రోళ్లపెంట, తుమ్ములపెంట, గొల్లపెంట. పెంటి penṭi. n. A female of a bird, animal or plant. పశుపక్ష్యాదులలో నాడుది. adj. Female: smaller. పెంటికోడి a hen. పెంటి అల. See పోతు. పెంటివిద్య feminine accomplishments. పెంటితాడు the female palm tree, ఆడుతాటిచెట్టు. పెంటిక or పెంట్రిక penṭika. [Tel.] n. The dung of sheep, goats, hares, deer, or rats, &c.
