(p. 611) doppa See దొన్నె. దొప్పలబోవు doppala-bōvu. [Tel.] v. n. To bag out with wet, as leather does with damp. To shrivel up: to contract as the hands in pain. దొప్ప చెవులుగల flap-eared, having large ears. దొప్పగా నుండే doppa-gā-nunṇē. adj. Channelled, like a dish. దొప్పదోగు doppa-dōgu. v. n. To plunge, to be drenched. దొప్పదోగిన drenched, soaked bedewed, moist. వానలో దొప్పదొగ తడిసిరి they were soaked in the rain.

(p. 764) puṭamu puṭamu. [Skt.] n. A fold, a doubling. The cup or hollow formed by a fold, as in a flower or leaf or in any roll or in the joined hands, దొప్ప. A flower basket, పూలబుట్ట. A horse's hoof, గుర్రపు కాలిగొర౛. Burning or refining a metal, calcining a medicinal drug. A kind of horse's pace, అశ్వగతిభేదము. నాసికాపుటము the calix of the nose, i.e., the nose. పుటముపెట్టు or పుటమువేయు to heat metal in the fire, to calcine a drug. 'పనివిని తీవెగుంపనక, పాండురసైకత నిర్ఘరీతటం బనక, దరీపుటం బనక, నన్నియు నారసి.' Vasu. ii. 46. పుటముబ్బ puṭam-ubbu. (పుటము+ఉబ్బు.) v. n. To swell upwards, మీదికుబ్బు. పుటమొగయు puṭam-cgayu. v. n. To fly upwards. మీదికెగయు. To leap over, దాటు. పుటి puṭi. n. A cup or concavity made of a leaf folded or doubled, దొప్ప. A flower basket, పూల బుట్ట. పుటిక or పుట్టిక puṭika. A cup. A. i.92. A small basket, చిన్నగంప. పుటితము puṭitamu. adj. Folded, inserted, contained.

(p. 868) baraḍu or బెరడు baraḍu. [Tel.] n. The rough bark of the tamarind and certain other trees, చింతలుమొదలైనవాటి పైబెరడు. adj. Skinny, lean, as the ribs. 'గుజ్జుజిరుదొడలను దొప్పచెవులనుబరడు ప్రక్కలు.' BD. iii. 2231.

(p. 989) mīḍu mīdu. [Tel.] n. The upper surface; top, head. ఉపరిభాగము, ఊర్ధ్వము. Futurity. భవిష్యత్కాలము. What is vowed, or set aside for sacrifice, దేవతకు నియమించిన ముడుపు. That which is next, the next thing, పరము. మీదుకట్టు mīdu-kaṭṭu. v. a. To devote, sanctify, set aside in the name of God. మీద or మీదను mīda. postposition. Above, on, upon, on the top of, at, against. నామీదవచ్చినతప్పు a fault laid on me. ఆ పనిమీదనున్నాడు he is engaged in that business. వారిని ఈపనిమీద పంపెను he sent them upon this business. ఇక మీద in future. ఉపాయముమీదచేసిన effected by stratagem. పనిమీదపని task after task. మధ్యాహ్నము మీద in the afternoon. మాటమీదమాట word upon word. నామీదకోపముచేసి being angry with me. టప్పాలుమీద పంపుము send a letter by post. గడియలమీదనున్నది it is hourly expected. మీదట mīdaṭa. adv. or prep. (Irreg. infl. of మిదు. See మీది.) adj. Subsequent. ఆమీదటిపనులు the subsequent acts. మీదటికి mīdaṭiki. adv. In future, next year. మీదటికి వానలేకుంటే if there should be no rain next year. మీది mīdi. (infl. of మీదు) adj. Very much, కడు మిక్కిలి.
