(p. 4) aṅgavradakṣiṇamu anga-pradakshiṇamu. [Skt.] n. Rolling the body like a log to the right for a distance or round a temple, as a religious vow or penance. ప్రార్థన చేసికొనువాడు గుడి మొదలగువాటికి ప్రదక్షిణముగా దొరలుట.

(p. 23) agapaḍu or అగుపడు agapaḍu. [Tel. from అగ్గము+పడు.] v. n. To appear, seem. To be found, or perceived. To be seized or apprehended. కంటబడు, దొరుకు, చిక్కు. వానికి కండ్లు అగుపడవు he cannot see, he is blind. ఉన్నది ఒకటి అగుపడేది ఒకటి it is one thing and appears another. నేను చెప్పినది వాడికి అగుపడలేదు he did not understand what I said. అగపరచు or అగుపరచు. v. n. To show, point out.

(p. 38) aḍḍugonu aḍḍu-gonu. [Tel.] v. To come in the way, to interpose. 'అడ్డుగొనిపోకు దొరకు బ్రహ్మస్తుడనియె.' అచ్చ యుద్ధకాండ.

(p. 67) abbu abbu. [Tel.] v. n. To come into one's enjoyment, possession, or reach; be obtained or gained. చిక్కు, దొరుకు, లభించు. ప్రాప్తించు. ఇది వీనికి అబ్బేసొమ్ము కాదు the luck is too good to last; that is, he is not worthy of such good fortune, and it will not stick by him. దీన్ని వానికి అబ్బనియ్యరు they will prevent his getting it.

(p. 74) amalu amalu. [H.] Authority, reign, sway, government. An office or post, a public charge. Execution, fulfilment, the period of one ruler's government. ఏలుబడి, దొరతనము, హయాము. అతని అమలులో in his reign or sway. ఆ కలెక్టరు గారి అమలులో in that Collector's days. ఆ తీర్పు అమలులోకి తేబడిన తరువాత after the decision was executed. వాని మీద అమలుచేసినారు they took steps against him, they put in force against him. అమల్దారుడు an Amildar, i.e., one who exercises authority. One who puts government orders into force. A Tahsildar or revenue officer in charge of Taluq.

(p. 91) alluḍu alluḍu. [Tel. from అల్లు lit. one who plaits, i.e., who is the means by which the family circle is enlarged.] n. A son-in-law. జామాత, మేనల్లుడు the son of a man's sister, or of a woman's brother. అల్లుడుకొమాళ్లు n. plu. Foster brothers or vassals, who feed at the baron's table and form his body-guard. దొరతోదొరగా భోజనము చేసి అతనికి అంగరక్షకులుగా నుండేవారు. అల్లువాడు n. A son-in-law. అల్లుడు, జామాత. 'అల్లువాని మృతికి నాత్మజింతించును, తనయు మృతికి దానె తలచుచుండు, పుణ్యపురుషు మృతికి భూలోకజనులకు నుర్వి క్రుంగినట్టులుండు.' Vema. 1288.

(p. 92) avagaḍamu ava-gaḍamu. [Skt.] n. Peril, danger, evil, mischief. అపాయము, చెరువు. అగడము, అకార్యము. 'మోసము వచ్చుట యరుదే యీసునతద్గర్వ భాషలిచటి సృగాలా గ్రేసరులపై తురేవిను మాసమయముసుమ్ము దొరలకవగడమరయన్.' P. iii. 368.

(p. 95) avaluntanamu ava-luṇṭhanamu. [Skt.] n. Rolling on the ground. పొరలడము అవలుంఠితము adj. Rolled on the ground, పొరలిన, నేలమీద దొర్లిన.

(p. 115) ādhipatyamu ādhi-patyamu. [Skt.] Government, dominion. దొరతనము.

(p. 139) ili ili. [Tel.] n. Food. ఈగకు ఇలి పాముకు బలిదొరకదు or వాని యింట్లో యిలిభిక్షము బలిభిక్షము పుట్టదు in his house a fly cannot find a dinner.

(p. 166) ubbu ubbu. [Tel.] n. Swelling ఉబ్బడము. సంతోషము. Haughtiness. ఉబ్బు v. n. To swell, be puffed up, to be delighted. ఉబ్బిన swollen or proud. నవ్వి కడుపు ఉబ్బినది he burst with laughter. 'ఉబ్బి చెలరేగి వసుదేవుడుత్సహించె.' (B. X.) he was overjoyed. అది నాకు దొరికినదని వానికి కడుపు ఉబ్బుచున్నది he is vexed at my obtaining this. కడుపుబ్బు suppression of urine, envy, spite, ఉబ్బున haughtily, fiercly. ఉబ్బించు ubbinṭsu. v. t. To inflate, to puff up with joy, to flatter. ఉబ్బు రోగము ubbu-rōgamu. n. Dropsy.

(p. 168) uralu uralu. [Tel. cf. రోలు. Drav. ఉరల్ = a roller.] v. a. To roll down, రాలు, దొర్లు. To flow down. కారు. ఉరలుకొను or ఉర్లుకొను Same as ఉరలు. ఉరలన్ uralan. adv. Off, over, violently. ఉరలద్రోచు uraladrōṭsu. To roll down, to send bounding. ఉరలబడు or ఉర్లబడు uralabaḍu. To roll over. దొర్లు. ఉరలబారు urala-bāru. v. i. To move చలించు.

(p. 176) ūraka or ఊరికె ūraka. [Tel.] adv. Without. For nothing. Silently, merely, idly, in vain. Without cause, of itself, spontaneously, voluntarily, causelessly. Without employment; unoccupied, empty, vacant. ఇల్లు ఊరికె ఉన్నది the house is vacant. ఊరికె పోనిచ్చు to let a thing go free. ఊరికెవచ్చు without any special purpose. ఊరకుండు to submit, to still; to be passive or silent. చ ... 'ఒప్పుత, ప్పరయురసజ్ఞు లూహదెలియంగల లేఖ కపాఠకోత్తముల్, దొరికినగాక యూరకకృతుల్ రచియించుమటన్న శక్యమే.' (అల్లసాని పెద్దన్న) i.e., how can a poet compose verse without these conveniences?

(p. 201) ēlika ēlika. [Tel. from ఏలు] n. A ruler, a prince, a king. రాజు, ప్రభువు. ఏలికసాని ēlika-sāni. n. A queen, a lady. రాణి, దొరసాని.

(p. 210) odugu odugu. [Tel.] v. n. To make room. to move so as to accomodate తొలగు. To come to hand, to be got or obtained. దొరకు. To become plentiful సమృద్ధమగు. To be of use or convenient. To assist, be at hand or ready. ఈ బియ్యము పండితే అన్నము ఒదుగుకావడములేదు on boiling this rice, it does not swell to the proper quantity. ఈ బట్టచలికి ఒదగదు this cloth is of no use against cold. కొంచెము ఒదుగుము, ఆయనను కూర్చుండనిమ్ము move a little and let him sit down. ఒదిగి ఒదిగి ఉన్నారు; they yielded. నాకు ఇప్పట్లో రూకలు ఒదగలేదు I have not yet obtained the money.
