(p. 112) āḍu āḍu. [Tel.] v. n. 1. To play, dance, work, act, do, move, ply. కాళ్లు ఆడకనిలిచె he stood stock-still, his feet did not stir. 2. To shake, totter, wag. 3. To beat, as the pulse. ధాతువు ఆడుచున్నది the pulse beats. 4. To speak, say. ఇట్లు కొందరు ఆడగా while some spoke thus. ఆడినది ఒకటి చేసినది ఒకటి he said one thing and did another. పోనాడు to cry Avaunt.! మున్నాడు to advance or come forward. ఆ పేరు నోట్లో ఆడుచున్నది I have the name at the tip of my tongue.

(p. 316) koṭṭivēyu koṭṭi-vēyu. To strike off, exclude, dismiss, cut off. కొట్టుకొనివచ్చు to be carried towards by wind or water. కొట్టుకొనిపోవు to be blown away, to be carried off. కొట్టుకొను koṭṭu-konu. To beat oneself. To bewail, to lament. To beat, as the pulse. ధాతువు కొట్టుకొంటున్నది the pulse beats. దానిమీద ప్రాణాలు కొట్టుకొంటవి, or దానిమీద మనసు కొట్టుకొంటుంది his heart is set upon her.

(p. 621) dhātuvu dhātuvu. [Skt.] n. The essence of anything. సారము. One of the constituent elements of the earth, or of the body. A fossil or mineral red chalk, పర్వతధాతువు జేగురు. మణిశిలలోనగు ఎర్రని ధాతువు, శిలావికారము A red mark on the forehead, బొట్టు. The pulse. ధాతువు ఆడు, నడుచు or కొట్టుకొను to beat as the pulse. A grammatical root. A relic. Thus దంతధాతువు is the Tooth-relic, being the tooth of Gautama Buddha. ధాతువాదము dhātu-vādamu. n. Assaying, in mineralogy. The art of Chemistry. T. iii. 65. రసవాదము. (p. 718) pariṇatamu pariṇatamu. [Skt.] adj. Ripe, mature, పక్వమైన. Bent, bowed. 'పరిణతాపముల్.' Vasu. iv. 6. n. A butting elephant, an elephant stooping to strike with his tusks. పరిణతి pariṇati. n. Bending, bowing. వమ్రత, వంగడము. 'నిజంబరయగక్షేత్రజ్ఞుడు పరిణతిగల యతడు సత్వపదవిదుడునుడీ' M. XIV. ii. 228. A technical expression for a set of verbs. భూజ్వాదిః, పరిణతిః, భూసత్తాయాం, బిజయె అనే ధాతువులు అదిగాగల కొన్ని క్రియలకు పారిభాషికనామము. త్రివిధమైన క్రియలో నొకటి పరిణద్దము pariṇaddhamu. adj. Bound, tied, possessed of. కట్టబడిన, కూడుకొన్న. 'భయదన్ఫురణాపరిణద్ధముర్తియై.' M. IV. ii.131. పరిణమించు pariṇaminṭsu. v. n. To be glad. సంతసించు, ఆనందించు. 'సీ పరిణమించిరి ధరా మరపురంధ్రీహస్త ఘటితచేలాంచలగ్రంధికలన.' Swa. v. 117. To become metamorphosed, transformed, changed. వికారమునుపొందు, ప్రకృత్యవ్యధాభావము అగుట. 'మజులమంజరీమహిత సౌభాగ్యంబు పరివృత్తకుచవృత్తిపరిణమింప.' Swa. vi. 99. v. a. To cause to rejoice, సంతోషింపజేయు. పరిణయము parinayamu. n. Marriage. పెండ్లి. పరిణామము pari-ṇāmamu. n. Constitution, temperament, disposition. స్వభావము, సహజము, భూపత్తాయామిత్యాదిధాతువు, పంచభూతములలో నొకటి. పైత్యప్రకృతి a bilious temperament. శ్లేష్మప్రకృతి a saturnine disposition. వాతప్రకృతి an airy or rheumatic humour. జడప్రకృతి (R. vi. 14.) a dull state, stupefaction.
