(p. 637) nalugu , నలగు or నలియు nalugu. [Tel.] v. n. To break. To be broken, bruised, crushed, crumpled or reduced to powder. నలియగు. To rub with a fragrant paste నలుగుపెట్టు. To become easy, smooth, or familiar by acquaintance. To wither, be weakened or debilitated. ఆ పాఠము అతనికి నలిగినది the lesson has become familiar to him. దోవ యింకా నలగలేదు the road is not yet trodden smooth. వారు జగడమాడగా నేను నలిగిపోతిని they were the disputants but I was the sufferer, I was crushed between them. వారు నలిగిపోయినాడు they are in reduced circumstances. ఒళ్లు నలిగియున్నది the limbs are quite tired. నలుగు nalugu. n. Rubbing, scrubbing the limbs with fragrant paste made usually of పెసలు. నలుగుపెట్టు to rub the limbs with paste. నలుగు or నలుగుపిండి n. A sort of fragrant paste used as soap. నలుగుడు or నలగుడు naluguḍu. n. Difficulty, trouble, pain, suffering. పిడనము, సంకటము, తొందర, ఇబ్బంది 'అతండు నలుగుడుబడరాదో మగువ.' Suca. iii. 333. That which is thrashed or bruised. నలిగినది. నలుగుడుపెట్టు to oppress, to harass. నలగగొట్టు nalaga-goṭṭu. v. a. To pound, to bruise. వాణ్ని నలగకొట్టినారు they thrashed him severely. నలత or నల్త nalata. n. Debility: a weak state: the remains or constitutional effects of a disease. పురాణించిన రోగము. (p. 1020) meṇḍu menḍu. [Tel.] n. Abundance, excess. ఆధిక్యము, అతిశయము. కల్లపసిండికి కాంతిమెండు tinsel is abundantly bright, false gold glitters finely. adj. Much, abundant, అధికము. మెండుకొను menḍu-konu. v. n. To abound, exceed, redound, overflow; to grow, swell. అతిశయించు, నిండుకొను, అధికమగు. 'మెండుకొనుమీంకృతులు.' Anirud. iv. 61. మెండుకొలుపు menḍu-kolupu. v. a. To cause to abound. మెండుగా menḍu-gā. adv. Much, excessively, greatly. మెండొడ్డు menḍ-oḍḍu. v. n. To rebel. ఎదిరించు, ఆలస్యముచేయు. 'మాటిమాటికిమగనితో మెండొడ్డి చలపాదితనమున నలిగియుండు.' T. iv.35.

(p. 1106) lūlāmālamu lūlā-mālamu. [Tel.] n. Cheating, wheedling, defruading. మోసము, వంచన. 'క లూలామాలపుమాటలు, చాలుననిననలిగితన నిజంబగురూపం, బాలోనదెలుపవలెనని, నీలగ్రీవుడు నిటలనేత్రముజూపన్.' Kālahasti. iii. 194.

(p. 1108) lēga lēga. [Tel. లేత+కానుపు.] n. A sucking calf. క్రొత్తగా పుట్టినదూడ. A calf, దూడ, వత్సము, మేతపట్టనిదూడ. A delicate chisel used by stone-cutters. సన్నఉలి. ఆవులావులు పోట్లాడి తేలేగలకాళ్లు విరుగుతవి or లేగలు మధ్యమ నలిగిపోతవి when the cows quarrel the calves' legs are broken; i.e., when the great fall out the poor suffer. లేగటావు or లేగటియావు lēga-ṭ-āvu. n. A cow with a young calf at foot. లేతదూడగల ఆవు.

(p. 1277) sandu or సంది sandu. [from Skt. సంధి.] n. A small opening, a fissure, crack, hole, బొత్త, చిల్లి, బీటిక. Space, an interval. ఎడము, మధ్యప్రదేశము, మధ్యకాలము. A lane, a narrow street, చిన్నవీధి, గల్లీ. A nook, corner, మూల. A backyard, పెరడు. A period of time, an opportunity, సమయము, సందర్బము. A direction or quarter. చంకసందు the armpit. వేళ్లసందు the space between two fingers. ఇక్కడ సందు విడువు leave a space here. సందిచ్చు to give room or opportunity. వాడు ఎవరికిని సందియ్యకుండా మాట్లాడుతాడు he will let nobody else get a word in, he gives no one an opportunity of speaking. వారిద్దరిసందున వీడు నలిగిపోవుచున్నాడు between the two this man is ruined. సందులు గొందులంతా వెతికినాడు he hunted in every hole and corner. సందుచూచి లోగా చొరబడినాడు he took an opportunity and rushed in సందువాకిలి the back-door, పెరటిగుమ్మము. సందుముట్టు menses occurring at intervals, that is, at irregular periods. 'నేటికి నబ్బెసందు.' T. iii. 87. అనగా నేడు సమయము చిక్కెను. సందిక్రంతజగడములు petty disputes, అల్పమైనజగడములు. సందుకట్టు sandukaṭṭu. n. An interval, మధ్యకాలము. గ్రహణపు సందుకట్టు the time that an eclipse lasts. అమావాస్య సందుకట్టు the period of new moon. నేను పోయి వీడు వచ్చే సందుకట్టులో in the interval between my going and his coming. సందుకొను sandu-konu. v. n. To take or seize an opportunity, సమయము చూచుకొను. To extend spread, వ్యాపించు. v. a. To unite with, కూడు. To be joined to, to marry, పరిగ్రహించు. సందుకొట్టు or సందుతగులు sandu-koṭṭu. v. n. To be injured by a ghost. సందుదోషము sandu-dōshamu. n. Demoniac possession. బిడ్డలకు మాససంధియందు కలుగు బాలగ్రహదోషము. ఆ బిడ్డకు సందుదోషము తగిలినది, సందుకొట్టినది or సందుతగిలినది the child is fairy-struck or injured by a ghost that haunts a particular spot. సందుసీసము sandusīsamu. n. A certain feat in wrestling.
