(p. 257) kalavaramu kalavaramu. [Tel.] n. Confusion, puzzle. కలవరకంప kalavara-kampa. n. A jumble. కలవరపడు or కలవరపోవు kalavara-paḍu. v. n. To be thrown into confusion. కలవరించు kalalvar-inṭsu. v. n. (p. 652) nidra nidra. [Skt.] n. Sleep. నిద్రపుచ్చు nidra-puṭsṭsu. v. t. To put to sleep, as an infant. జ్ఞాననిద్ర a mesmeric trance. నిద్రమబ్బు or నిద్రమత్తు nidra-mabbu. n. Drowsiness. నిద్రలేపు nidra-lēpu. v. a. To awake from sleep. నిద్రాణము nidrāṇamu. adj. Sleepy, drowsy. నిద్రాణుడు or నిద్రాళువు nidrāṇuḍu. n. A sleepy fellow, నిద్రపోతు. నిద్రించు, నిద్రచేయు, నిద్రిలు, నిద్రిల్లు or నిద్రపోవు nidrinṭsu. v. n. To go to sleep, repose. నిద్రింతము let us sleep. M. X. i. 65. నిద్రితుడు nidrituḍu. n. One who is asleep or reposing.

(p. 801) pondu or ఒందు pondu. [Tel.] v. n. To wink, (కన్ను) వాలు. To gain, obtain, get, acquire. To reach, attain to. To have, enjoy. To suffer, experience, meet with joy, grief or death, &c. ప్రాపించు. వానిని లక్ష్మిపొందినది good luck has be fallen him. అవమానమును పొందినాడు he incurred disgrace. సంతోషమును పొందినాడు he was pleased. నష్టమును పొందినాడు he incurred loss. విఘ్నమొందక meeting with no obstacle or cheek. నరకమును పొందినాడు he fell into hell. కన్నుపొందు to sleep. 'ఆ కడుపు నిండగుడువ గానమిరేయెల్ల, గన్నుపొందకున్న కరముడస్సి, యున్నవాడనాకు.' M. I. vi. 322. కన్నుపొందకున్న, అనగా నిద్రలేకుండా ఉండడముచేత. Also, to have intercourse with. కలయు. n. Fitness. suitability, agreement. పొందిక intercourse, friendship, స్నేహము. Joining, union, సంధి. The act of obtaining a thing ప్రాప్తి. Sameness, want of difference, అభేదము. Agreeableness, అనుకూల్యము. adj. Friendly, స్నేహితుడు. 'రాలపొందెరింగి రాలగూర్చినభంగిలోను పొందెరింగిలోనుపరచి.' Vēma. 637. పొందుకాడు ponḍu-kāḍu. n. A friend, స్నేహితుడు. పొందుకొను pondu-konu. v. n. To be fixed or established, నెలకొను. పొందుపడు pondu-paḍu. v. n. To be agreeable or fit, సరిపడు, అనుకూలించు. పొందుపాటు ponda-pāṭu. n. Convenience, suitability, aid, help. వానికి ఆ రూకలు పొందుపాటు కాలేదు he could not get the money. పొందుపాటుచేయు to arrange, అనుకూలముచేయు. పొందించు pondinṭsu. To cause to obtain, get, or experience. నన్ను ఈ శ్రమ పొందించినారు they caused me this trouble. 'మగువత నంబునజగముల తగులము బొందింప గొంతదడవెముకుందా.' B. viii. 446. పొందిక pondika. n., Fitness, agreement, aptness. ఇమిడిక. Intercourse, సహవాసము, కలయిక. 'సీతాకాంతముని స్త్రీల పొందిక లుమరగి.' R. v. 59.

(p. 1031) mēlu mēlu. [Tel.] n. Good, kindness. ఉపకారము. Good fortune, prosperity, favour, happiness, క్షేమము, శుభము. Profit, advantage, లాభము. Righteousness, పుణ్యము, సుకృతము. Excellence, superiority, విశేషము. Love, మోహము. Pride, మదము. 'చదువుల మేలులేదొ.' P. iv. 119. అక్కడికి పోతే మేలు it would be better to go there. అదేమేలు so much the better. మేలెరుగు to be grateful, remember kindness. కీడుమేలు తెలిసినవాడు one who knows good and evil. 'మేలుకలిగేవాడు in time of prosperity. 'తత్సుతశతకంబుకంటె నొక సూనృత వాక్యము మేలుభూవరా.' Bhārat మేలు or మేలి adj. Upper, higher. ఉపరి, అధికము, పై. Good, better. Noble, fine, excellent, superior, శుభమైన, శ్రేష్ఠమైన. మేలుమిద్దె an upper storey. 'లోపలియంతస్తులోని మేల్మిద్దె.' Sārang. D. 113. మేలుగోడ the top wall, battlement, parapet or rail wall. మేలుముసుకు the outer cover. మేలుమాట or మేలువార్త happy news. adv. Up, above, over, మేలు or మేలుమేలు interj. One who is or sets an example; a paragon of excellence, an example, ఉదాహరణము. adj. Excellent, శ్రేష్ఠము, శ్రేష్ఠుడు, శ్రేష్ఠురాలు. 'మేదినీనాధులకునెల్ల మేలుబంతిగా బ్రవర్తింపకేల, దుష్కర్మివైతి.' Vish. ii. 116. 'నిజచరిత్రంబు భావిబూభుజులకెల్ల మేలుబంతిగవసుమతియేలుచుండె.' ib. vi. 63. మేలలుమచ్చు mēlu-maṭsṭsu. n. An upper storey, చంద్రశాల. మేలుమచ్చులు a kind of game played by boys. మేలురాసి mēlu rāṣi. n. The top part of a heap of winnowed grain. తూర్పెత్తిన ధాన్యపుసోగు. మేలువాడు mēlu-vāḍu. n. A lover, విటుడు, వలపుకాడు, మంచివాడు. 'అంతరాధకుమేలు వాడైమురారి.' A. v. 56.

(p. 1108) lēcu lēṭsu. [Tel.] v. n. To rise, get up, arise. ఉత్థితమగు, పొటమరించు, రేగు. To rise from sleep, నిద్రలేచు, మేలుకొను. లేచివస్తిని I came away. గజ్జిలేచినది the itch appeared. లేచిపోవు lēchi-pōvu. v. n. To depart, go away. వెళ్లు. లేచిపో be gone! get off! వాడు లేచిపోయినాడు he walked off. లేవ lēva. Infinitive of లేచు, వానిని లేవనెత్తినాను. I lifted him up. లేవగొట్టించు lēva-goṭṭinṭsu. v. a. To expel. వారిని ఆ యింటిలోనుంచి లేవగొట్టించినారు he got them turned out of the house. లేవనెత్తు or లేవదీయు lēva-n-ettu. v. a. To lift up, pull out; to turn out; to expel, బయటికీడ్చి విడిచిపెట్టు, వెళ్లగొట్టు, వాణ్ని లేవనెత్తు help the man up.

(p. 1109) lēpu lēpu. [Tel. from లేచు.] v. a. To cause to rise, to raise, లేవజేయు. To rouse, awake, stir up. నిద్రలేపు to arouse from sleep దుమ్ములేపు to raise dust. అడ్డముగా ఒకగోడ లేపినాడు he raised a wall across. వాణ్ని ఆ యింటిలోనుండి లేపు turn him out of the house. లేపించు lēpinṭsu. v. a. To remove, to turn out, వెళ్లగొట్టు, నివృత్తిచేయు. వారిని ఆ యింటిలోనుంచి లేపించినాడు he turned them out of the house. లేపు. n. A bed. మెత్త, పరుపు. 'చిల్కలకోళ్లనందమౌ, సకినెల పట్టెమంచమున చాయనగామతివాసుపైదురం, గికమొకమాలులేపున నొగింశయనించెమనోభవన్యధన్.' H. i. 73. A mane, ౛ూలు.
