(p. 661) nivāriñcu ni-vārinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To do away with, cure, avert, dissipate; to put a stop to, dispel, remove, rescue; to appease, satisfy. To prevent ill luck by sprinkling water, &c. To forbid, bar, debar, arrest. నివారణచేయు, అడ్డగించు. నివారణము ni-vāraṇamu. n. Prevention. అడ్డగింత. Doing away with, removing, curing, deliverance, termination. నివారితము ni-vāritamu. adj. Hindered, checked, opposed.

(p. 662) nivṛtti nivṛitti. [Skt.] n. Cessation, renunciation, abdication. Removal of an objection or an evil solution. నివారణము.

(p. 722) paryāptamu pary-āptamu. [Skt.] n. That which is obtained or gained. Satisfaction, satiety, తృప్తి. All, completeness, entirety, enough, sufficiency, యథేప్సితము, పరిపూర్ణము, ప్రకామము. Power, ability, శక్తి. Prevention, నివారణము. పర్యాప్తముగా pary-āptamu-gā. adv. Readily, ably, satisfactorily.

(p. 1177) vinivāraṇamu vi-nivāranamu. [Skt. వి+నివారణము.] n. Prevention; an obstacle, hindrance. 'తనయాయెవ్వరియందు జిక్కుపడ వేదండంబునుంగాననే వినివారణంబును బోవందవే వెరపు వేవిభ్రాంతియుంజెందవు.' Bhāg. x. §. ix. 9.

(p. 1186) viruguḍu viruguḍu. n. An antidote, a remedy, విరుపు, నివారణము. విరగడ or విరుగడ vira-gaḍa. n. Release, liberation, setting at liberty. విడుదల. నీకు యింకా ఆ తొందర విరగడకాలేదా? are you not yet free from that trouble. నేటితో ఈ కష్టములు విరగడైనవి to-day these ills have ended. విరగబడు or విరుగబడు viraga-baḍu. v. n. To be puffed up or haughty. గర్వపడు, బోర్లపడు. విరుగుపాటు or విరగపాటు viru-ga-pāṭu. n. Pride, haughtiness, గర్వము, బోర్లబడుట. విరుచు viruṭsu. v. a. To cause to break, to break. To counteract poison. విరుగజేయు, భగ్నముచేయు. మాటు వేసిరసమును గాని విషమునుగాని విరిగిపోవునట్లుచేయు. నెటికలు to crack or snap the finger joints. విరుచు twist the tail. పెదవివిరుచు to turn up the lip in scorn. మండలువిరిచినాడు he broke the branches off a tree. 'చెలిమియొనర్పగా వలదె యీనిన్నంచు వెనుల్కికెమ్మాని విరిచెనొకతె.' Ila. iv. 29. విరపనగొయ్య or విరుగనికొయ్య virapana-goyya. n. A stubborn wretch.మొండివాడు. విరుపు virupu. n. A break, or the act of breaking. An objection, contradiction. విరుచుట, భగ్నము, అడ్డము, ఆక్షేపణ, మెడవిరుపులు a puzzle, stumbling block. మోనివిరుపులు turning up the lip in scorn. adj. Counteracting, విరుగుడు. విరుచుకొను viruṭsu-konu. (middle voice, with passive sense.) To be defeated. అదండు వెనకకు విరుచుకొనిపోయినది the army was broken and retreated. ఒళ్లువిరుచుకొన్నాడు he stretched himself through weariness. ఈ కొంచెముపనికి ఏల యెముకలువిరుచుకొంటావు why do you break your bones, i.e., take so much trouble for this trifling business.

(p. 1383) hariñcu or హరియించు harinṭsu. [Skt.] v. n. To be digested, to waste away, to perish, go off or disappear, as a disease, to subside, క్షయించు, క్షీణించు, జీర్ణించు, అడగు. భేదికియిచ్చిన ఔషధము హరించిపోయినది the medicine was carried off. i.e., the medicine did no good. v. a. To counteract, expel, as an antidote does; to carry off. To take by violence, usurp, plunder, rob, steal, kill, destroy. దోచుకొను, దొంగిలించు, చంపు, నాశముచేయు, అడచు. మజ్జిగ మామిడి పండ్ల విషమును హరించును butter-milk counteracts the bad effects of mangoes. 'చోరవృత్తిని హరించి తముంగొని పోవుచుండగా.' N. i. 239. హరణము hara-ṇamu. n. Seizing, taking away forcibly, removing, carrying or bearing off; as of pain, &c. Stealth, theft, rape. Lapse or passing of time. నివారణము. హరించుట. గ్రహణము. A special gift or bonus: a nuptial present, అరణము, అల్లునికి కూతురికి. అరణము, అల్లునికి కూతురికి ఇచ్చినసొమ్ము. భుక్తికైనాహరణభరణ శక్తి చూచినాను I did to the best of my power to gain my bread. మిక్కిలి కాలహరణ మయినది there has been much loss of time. ఆ సొమ్మును చెల్లించకుండా కాలహరణము చేయుచున్నాడు he is putting off the payment of the money. వాడు ఊరక కాలహరణము చేస్తున్నాడు he is wasting the time. హరింపు harimpu. n. Waste, loss, embezzlement, abstraction. నాశము, నష్టము, దోపిడి, అపహారము. హరింపులోకితెచ్చు to digest, జీర్ణించు. హరికుడు hari-kuḍu. n. A thief, a gambler. తస్కరుడు, ద్యూతకారుడు. హరికప్రయోగము gambling, ద్యూతము. 'రాజమృగాదిముఖబంధనంబును హరిక ప్రయోగంబును.' G. ix. 177.
