(p. 662) niś niṣ. [Skt.] A negative prefix, altered from నిర్. (q. v.) in accordance with the rules of Sandhi. నిశ్చలము niṣ-chalamu. adj. Fixed, immovable, firm. నిశ్చింతుడు niṣ-chintuḍu. n. A man without care. చింతలేనివాడు. నిశ్చేతనము ṇiṣ-chēṭanamu. adj. Motionless, inanimate. నిశ్చేష్టుడు niṣ-chēshṭuḍu. n. One who cannot move, చేష్టలు ఉడిగినవాడు. నిశ్శబ్దము niṣ-ṣabdamu. n. Silence. adj. Silent, mute. నిశ్శబ్దముగా నుండు to be silent or speechless. నిశ్శేషము niṣ-ṣēshamu. adj. Without a remainder, total, entire, thorough, complete, సర్వము, అంతయును. నిశ్శేషముగా niṣ-ṣēshamu-gā. adv. Wholly, utterly, completely.

(p. 775) pullabaḍu or పుల్లపడు pulla-baḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To be stunned, మ్రానుపడు, స్తంభించు, నిశ్చేష్టితుడగు. 'క పుల్లవడిచలమురోషము, బొల్లైననతండు కొంతప్రొద్దుమొగమునన్, వెల్లదనము గదురనిలిచి, యెల్లజనులువినగమరియు నిట్లనిపలికెన్.' M. III. iv. 371.

(p. 1045) mōḍu or మ్రోడు mōḍu. [Tel.] n. The stump of a tree. మొద్దు, స్థాణువు. The stump of an arm or leg which has been amputated. కోయగా మిగిలిన కాలుచెయ్యి మొదలైనది. A stumbling block. A knoll or rising ground, the crest of a hill. మిట్ట. మోడుచరుచు, మోడుపడు or మోడ్పడు mōdu-ṭsaruṭsu. v. n. To become blunt, మొక్కగు. To become hardened or coarse, మోటగు. To break to pieces, తునుగు, ఖండితమగు. మోడుపరుచు moḍu-paruṭsu. v. a. To cut. ఖండించు. To reduce to a stump. To be motionless,నిశ్చేష్టితమగు.

(p. 1050) mrānu Same as మాను a tree (q. v.). మ్రానుకోయిల a wood pecker, వడ్రంగిపిట్ట. మ్రానుద్రిమ్మరి, మ్రాన్దిమ్మరి, మ్రానుమనికి or మ్రానుమన్కి mrānu-drimmari. n. A monkey. కోతి. మ్రానుపాటు or మ్రాన్పాటు mrānu-pāṭu. n. Stupor, the state of being stunned. నిశ్చేష్టత. మ్రానుపడు, మ్రాన్పడు. మ్రానుచెందు, మ్రానుతేరు. మ్రానుపిల్లు or మ్రానుపిలు mrānu-paḍu. v. n. To be stunned, or become motionless. నిశ్చేష్టితుడగు. 'దిక్పతులుమ్రాన్పడియెద్దియు జేయజాలకె చిత్తరుబొమ్మలో యనవిచేష్టతనొందిన.' T. v. 144. మ్రానుపెట్టు mrānu-peṭṭu. v. a. To cause to be stunned, మ్రానుపడజేయు.

(p. 1079) ricca or రిచ్చపాటు riṭsṭsa. [Tel.] n. Horror, terror, stupefaction. నిశ్చేష్టత, ఏమియును తోచకయుండడము. దిగులు, వితాకు, మ్రానుపాటు.' మింటునుండుటగాదని యింటిపైకి, దెచ్చుకొంటినటంచుపెన్ రిచ్చవెడలు.' A. v. 155. రిచ్చగొను or రిచ్చవడు riṭsṭsa-gonu. v. n. To be horror-struck, to be stupefied. దిగులుపడు, వితాకుపడు, మ్రానుపడు. 'అచ్చటివార లాబాలగోపాలంబుగా వచ్చి రచ్చలుపడి చూచుచుండిరి.' Vish. vii. 139.

(p. 1167) vicēṣṭa vi-chēshṭa. [Skt.] n. Motionlessness, నిశ్చేష్ట. విచేష్టించు vi-chēshṭinṭsu. v. n. To move about much, to be active. మిక్కిలి చేష్టించు. విచేష్టితము vi-chēshṭitamu. adj. Motionless, immovable, నిశ్చేష్టితము.

(p. 1173) vitāku vitāku. [Tel.] n. Horror, confusion, నిశ్చేష్టత, ఎటునుతోచక కలవరపడి యుండడము, Forgetfulness, absent-mindedness, పారవశ్యము, పరాకు. వితాకు or వితాకుడు. One who is confused or struck dumb. విశ్చేష్టితుడు, పరవశుడు. వితాఖుపడు vitāku-paḍu. v. n. To be confused or confounded, to be at a loss, నిశ్చేష్టితుడగు, ఎటునుతోచక కలవరముగానుండు. 'మార్గముదప్పి కంపలన్ జిక్కి మదిన్ వితాకుపడిచింతము ననుంగుచు.' G. iii. 21.

(p. 1206) vegaḍu vegaḍu. [Tel.] Torpidity, amazement, astonishment, confusion of mind. నిశ్చేష్టత, తల్లడము, తడబాటు. వెగడుపడు vegaḍu-paḍu. v. n. To be confused, to be troubled, తల్లడపడు. 'బహిర్నిర్గమంబొవరించివెగడుపడియున్న మృగమునూరడించి.' B. ii. 179.

(p. 1211) veragu veragu. [Tel. connected with వెర.] n. Surprise, astonishment, wonder, ఆశ్చర్యము. The act or state of being stunned, bewilderment, embarrassment, నిశ్చేష్టత. వెరగొందు or వెరగుపడు verag-ondu. v. n. To be surprised. ఆశ్చర్యపడు. To be stunned, నిశ్చేష్టతనొందు. వెరగుపాటు veragu-pāṭu. n. Wonderment, surprise, bewillderment, వెరగుపడుట. The act or state of being stunned, bewilderment, embarrasment, నిశ్చేష్టత. వెరవెరపాటు vera-vera-pāṭu. n. The act of being stunned.

(p. 1364) stabdhamu stabdhamu. [Skt.] adj. Firm, stiff, motionless, immovable, paralized, stupefied, stupid, dull. చేష్టారహితమైన, నిశ్చేష్టితమైన, బిరుసుగానుండే, నిక్కపొడుచుకొన్న. స్తబ్ధరోమము stabdha-rōmamu. n. (lit. stiff haired) A hog. పంది. స్తబ్ధుడు stabdhuḍu. n. A blockhead. జడుడు. వాడా మాటవిని స్తబ్ధుడుగానుండెను on hearing that he stood as if thunderstruck.
