And not, nor, Rather, Before. జాజియొక్కటియెకాని సకలకుసమ విసరసంపదచేనొప్పె వసుధయెల్ల , విరహణియెకానిధరణిపై వివిధజనులు సంతసములొందజేసె వసంతవేళ.' Sunandā Parinyam, iv. 22. 'ఆలలు మగనిమాట కడ్డంబు వచ్చెనా ఆలలుకాదది వానివ్రాలుకాని.' (Vēma.) ఇంతేకాని నేనేమెరుగను I know nothing but this. ఇదియేమోకాని I cannot tell what this may be. అదిగాని యిదిగాని either that or this. ఆపని పది దినములకుగాని కాదు that work cannot be finished in less than ten days. రేపుగాని రాడు he will not come here before to-morrow. ఉద్యోగము చిక్కుననే అపేక్ష ఉంటేగాని నేను అక్కడ ఉండను I would not have remained there had I not hoped to gain employment. ఇది అతని చేతగాని మరి యొకనిచేతకాదు he alone can do it, no one else can. ఎల్లవిధముల నిను వధియించిగాని పురికి నురుగముగావున for we will not return without slaying thee. అతడు వస్తేనేగాని యీపని కానేరదు unless he comes we cannot effect this. కాని or కానీ (for కానిమ్ము) imp. verb denoting assent. Let it be done. Be it so. Never mind. Very well. ఆ పని ముందరకానీ let that be done first. కానీ కానీ నీ కావరమణతు very well, I will crush your pride.

(p. 336) kro kro. [Tel.] adj. The word క్రొత్త is contracted into క్రొత్త in compounds in the following hard or soft consonants in Telugu words are doubled as క్రొక్కన్ను (క్రొత్త+కన్ను), క్రొక్కారు (క్రొత్త+కారు), క్రొత్తావి (క్రొత్త+తావి) , క్రొన్నన (క్రొత్త+నన), క్రొన్నలుపు, క్రొన్నురుగు, క్రొన్నెత్తురు, క్రొన్నల, క్రొమ్ముడి, క్రొమ్మెరుగు. క్రొమ్మొన, క్రొవ్వాడి, క్రొవ్విరి. &c. In some cases, this change is made even when a Skt. word follows, as క్రొమ్మేఘములు (భీ. iii.) In some cases, again, when a hard consonant follows, క్రొత్త is contracted into క్రొం where the సున్న stands for the letter ను but the succeding consonant is not doubled but changed into a soft one, as క్రొం౛ాయ, క్రొంజెమట, క్రొందమ్మి, క్రొంబసిడి, క్రొంబొగ, &c.

A shark called Carcharias macloti (F.B.I.) పాలసొర్ర the small blue shark. రాగిసొర్ర the brown shark. మట్టసొర్ర the flat shark. తేలుసొర్ర the long tailed shark. (Russsell, plates XII, XV. XVI.) సొమ్మసొర and బొక్కసొర్ర are other species. సిగసొర్ర or కరమూతిసొర్ర a shark called Carcharias menisorrah (F.B.I.) సొరపియ్యి sorapiyyi. n. Literally 'shark's dung.'
