(p. 35) aḍaliñcu aḍalinṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To frighten, bully. To do, make, perform. అదలించు, గద్దించు, చేయు. 'ఒండురెండుగా వారడలించురేటి నెరవాదితనంబది.' P. iii. 205.

(p. 54) anukūlamu anu-kūlamu. [Skt.] adj. Favourable, friendly, assisting, salubrious. హీతమైన, సహాయమైన, ఆరోగ్యమైన, శ్రేయస్కరమైన. అనుకూలమైన గాలి a favourable wind. వాని శరీరమునకు అనుకూలమైన స్థలము the place which agrees with him. అనుకూలమైనమాట a friendly word. అనుకూలశత్రువు a friendly enemy అనుకూల కాలము a suitable time. అనుకూలము or అనుకూలత n. Favour, goodness, kindness, aid. సహాయము, మేలు, దయ. దయ ద్రవ్యానుకూలము means, resource. దైవానుకూలము వల్ల by the grace of God. అనుకూలించు, అనుకూలపడు or అనుకూలమగు anukūlinṭsu. [Skt.] v. n. To be of use ఒదవు. To have effect, to have a good result. సఫలమగు, ఒనగూడు. అనుకూలము కాలేదు it failed, it had not the desired effect. నాకు ఇంకా రూకలు అనుకూల పడలేదు I have not yet obtained the money ఈ పని నీకు అనుకూలమగును you will succeed in this business. అనుకూలము చేయు or అనుకూలవరచు anukūlamuchēyu. v. a. To shew favour, to bring a thing about, to countenance. సహాయము చేయు, నెరవేర్చు. కార్యమును అనుకూలము చేసికొన్నారు they brought it about, brought it to a conclusion. అనుకూలుడు anukūluḍu. n. A friend, ally, patron. హితుడు, సహాయుడు, ఉపకారి. వాడు నాకు అనుకూలుడు he is well disposed towards me.

(p. 66) apraśastamu a-praṣastamu. [Skt.] adj. Not excellent, worthless, contemptible, not public, secret, hidden. అప్రసిద్ధమైన, రహస్యమైన, ఎవరునెరుగని.

(p. 66) aprasiddhamu a-prasiddhamu. [Skt.] adj. Not known to the world, not public, secret, hidden. అప్రశస్తమైన, రహస్యమైన, ఎవరునెరుగని, అప్రసిద్ధి n. Infamy, అపకీర్తి. Obscurity.

(p. 79) arapa arapa. [Tel.] n. A temporary scaffold in a field. మంచె. 'క్రచ్ఛరనీనంగగాచినక్కలకు, నిచ్చినయట్లయ్యె నీడితకీర్తి, మరియేలువేయును నెరయు బండించి, యరపడిగ్గినయట్టు లయ్యె నుర్వీశ.' BD. vii. 619.

(p. 90) allaṭapeṭṭu allaṭa-peṭṭu. [Tel. అల్లటము+పెట్టు] v. a. To annoy, harass. 'అల్లనమూ డేడులయ్యె నన్నింత యల్లటపెట్టెదోయయ్య నేనెరుగ.' Bhallā. 1. 455. అల్లటము allaṭamu. [Tel.] n. Annoyance. అల్లాటము.

(p. 136) idi idi. [Tel.] pron. She, it, this. The 6th case is దీని and the acc. దీనిని as దీని నెరిగింపు declare this. The abl. is దీన or దీనిచేత 'hereby.' plu. ఇవి నాకు చాలా ఇదిగానున్నది I am very much out of sorts. ఆ నడత బహు యిదిగా నున్నది that conduct is not the thing, is so and so. ఇదిగో, or ఇదుగో idigō [ఇది+కొమ్ము lit take this] interj. Look! do you see! behold! here it is! ఇదుగో యిస్తాను అదుగో యిస్తున్నానని అంటాడు he puts me off with empty promises Lit. Here I will give it, there I will give it, says he. ఇదుగో వస్తానని చెప్పెను or ఇదుగో వచ్చెదననెను he promised to return presently. ఇదె Same as ఇదిగో.

(p. 144) īḍēru īḍēru. [Tel. ఈడు+ఏరు] v. n. To be effected, completed, fulfilled, attained. నెరవేరు. To come to maturity. ఈడేరిన. ripe, mature. ఈడేర్చు īḍērṭsu. v. a. To effect, complete, fulfil, accomplish. ఈకష్టమీడేర్చితివా if you will only get me through this distress.

(p. 147) īsapōvu , ఈసరపోవు īsa-pōvu. [Tel.] v. n. To pine, shrink. శుష్కించు. ఈసరపోనీక without omitting anything. రవంతైనా విడువక. 'వనితల నూరార్చి వారాలచ్చటికిన్ జనిమరలి వచ్చిన విధంబీసర పోనీక పూస గుచ్చిన తెరంగున నెరింగి.' HK. ii. 185.

(p. 168) uriyu uriyu. [Tel.] v. a. To sweat or leak. ఉప్పురిసిన గోడ a wall out of which salt oozes. ఇల్లు ఉరుస్తున్నది the house leaks. ఈ ఊరు ఉప్పురిసినందున as the land of that village turned saltish. Also, to move చలించు. To turn grey, as hair నెరయు. To ripen పక్వమగు. To pine away పరితపించు. ఉరుపు urupu. n. Leaking, soaking through. ఉరియుట.

(p. 169) uruvaḍu uru-vaḍu. [Tel.] v. i. To be fulfilled. నెరవేరు.

(p. 179) eṇḍa enḍa. [Tel.] n. Heat, sunshine, glare, radiance, ఎండయెక్కినది the sun is high. చిరుఎండ the soft heat of the morning or evening; రేయెండ moonshine. వాడు వచ్చినప్పుడు నిండా యెండయెక్కినది it was late in the day when he arrived. ఎండకాచునప్పుడు when it is hot. నీకు ఎండ తగిలినది, or, నీ ముఖమునకు ఎండతగిలినది you look hot or fatigued, ఎండకన్నెరుగనివాడు one whose 'eye knows not the sunbeam,' i.e., who lives in the shade. ఎండకాలము eṇḍa-kālamu. n. The hot weather. ఎండగట్టు eṇḍa-gaṭṭu. v. t. To tie up (as a cloth) in the sun to dry. ఎండిపోవు. ఎండదెబ్బ eṇḍa-gāli. n. A burning wind. ఎండగోట్టు eṇḍa-goṭṭu. v. i. To dry up or wither ఎండిసోవు. ఎండదెబ్బ eṇḍa-debba. n. A stroke of the sun. ఎండదొర or ఎండరేడు eṇḍa-dora. n. The sun. ఎండపొద్దు eṇḍa-poddu. n. Noon. ఎండమావి eṇḍa-māvi. n. The mirage మృగతృష్ణ. ఎండబెట్టు eṇḍa-beṭṭu. v. t. To put out to dry. ఎదురెండ the sun against the face.

(p. 202) ēṣyamu ēshyamu. [Skt.] n. The future, what is yet to happen. కాగలది. Foretoken, foreboding. జరుగబోవునది; జరుగబోవుదానికి గురుతు. 'అగస్త్యోర్వీరుహంబునకు నిర్వానం బొసంగంగలండు యిట్టి యేష్యంబులు మదీయదివ్యబోదం బుననెరింగి యుందును.' A. vi. 85.

Fiction fraud, మాయ; archness, a prank, a wrench, or a twist. చమత్కారము, నేర్పు. 6. Finesse, innuendo, aquibble, చలోక్తి; refinement, prettiness. 7. A token, or mark, trace, track. ౛ాడ, సంకేతస్థలము, ఏకాంతము. వానకందచువ the rainy season. ఇరుకందువ on both sides. 'మునుతాసుచనిన కందువ. వెదకుచు కావలలోపలికి.' Sar. D. vii. 211. 'ఇందుబింబముమీది కందువచందలబునకురులు నెమ్మొగమున నెరసియుండ.' M. IV. ii. 137. 'కందువచందమామ.' V. P. ii. 51. కందువ adj. Peculiar, odd, queer, Pretty, curious, Cunning, false, fictitious. కందువమాటలు a quibble: a play upon words. కందువ పద్మము a fairy lily, not a real one. కందువ రాజులు mere pretenders: mock warriors.
