(p. 15) ampakamu or అంపకాలు ampakamu. [Tel.] n. Permission to go; dismission. An entertainment given to a friend on the occasion of his departure. పంపించడము, సెలవు విందుచేసి సాగనంపడము, బహుమానమిచ్చిపంపడము. అంపకముచేయు to dismiss, send away. అల్లునికి అంపకము చేసి పంపిరి they gave the son-in-law the entertainment preparatory to his departure and sent him away. 'బ్రహ్మసభకేనుబోయి కొంత, కాలముదుండి యజుడంపకంబుసేయ, మానవసరంబునకువచ్చి.' H. 4. 7

(p. 16) ampācāramu ampā-chāramu. [Tel.] n. Stream. జలప్రవాహము. 'పంపాదిక శంపావలి బెంపారిన మేఘచయము పృథినియునభయం గంపింపగబెట్టురుముచు నంపాచారంపువానలప్పుడుకురిసెన్.' వి.పు. 7. ఆ.

(p. 16) ampu ampu. [Tel.] v. a. To send, forward, despatch. పంపు సాగనంపు to accompany a friend a little way so as to set him on his journey. పిలవనంపు to send for one. అంపించు. same as అంపు or పంపు to send. అంపుదోడు ampu-dōḍu. n. A companion in a journey. దారికి సహాయముగా వచ్చేమనిషి. వాడు అంపుదోళ్లకు బిడ్డకాన్పులకు తిరుగుతున్నాడు he employs himself as a companion and as a nurse.

(p. 32) aṭṭahāsamu aṭṭa-hāsamu. [Skt.] n. Violent, phrenzied laughter. Vehement action, exceeding effort or exertion. Toil, pains, laborious efforts. Pomp. 'అట్టహాసంబున నడరెడు తెరనూరు.' N. ix. 31. నా కూతురిని పంపితేనేగాని కూడదని అట్టహాసము చేస్తాడు he protests violently that his daughter shall go with him. రాజు బహు అట్టహాసముతో బయలుదేరినాడు the king set out with great pomp. అట్టహాసకాడు n. A pompous or ostentatious man.

(p. 38) aḍḍādiḍḍi aḍḍā-diḍḍi. [Tel.] adj. Froward, perverse. అక్రమమైన, నన్ను అడ్డాదిడ్డిపనులకు పంపుతాడు he employs me on idle jobs. అడ్డాదిడ్డిమాటలు ఆడబోకు do not speak perversely.

(p. 54) anucu anuṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To send, dismiss. పంపు. 'నిజపురంబునకనిచెనిందీనరాక్షు.' Swa. v. 132. Also, to command to order.

(p. 56) anupu anupu. [Tel.] n. Toll, customs; ambuscade, ambush, సుంకము. పొంచియుండే చోటు. 'తెరవలిటునీరు పోయ పందిలియు జేరి, యవలగొర గాక పిచ్చుకుంటైయనంగు, డనువుగొనజొచ్చె కల్లగుట్టమర.' A. ii. 69. టీ సుంకము పుచ్చుకోనుపక్రమించెను. అనుపు v. a. To send, dismiss. పంపించు. 'నన్ననువుగాధల చేతనెప్రొద్దు ద్రోయకన్.' H. i. 42.

(p. 85) arru arru. [Tel.] n. The neck. కంఠము, పశుజాతి, మెడపంపు, కుతిక, ఆపద, హాని. A sore on a bullock's neck occasioned by ploughing. ఆ యెద్దు యొక్క అర్రు కొట్టు కొనిపోయినది the bullock's neck is hurt (by the yoke.) 'అందని ఫలముల కర్రుచాపగనేల.' Kalahasti.

(p. 92) ava cāṭamugā ava-ṭsāṭamugā. [Tel.] adv. Unexpectedly, unawares, అకస్మికముగా, హటాత్తుగా. 'ఖలుడగుకంసుని పంపున నరిగి తృణావర్తుడవనికవచాటముగా సురకరువలియైబిసబిస నరుదరుదనముసరివిసరిహరిగొనిపోయెన్.' B. X. § 7.

(p. 198) ēnāḷlu or ఏన్నాళ్లు ē-nāḷḷu. [Tel. ఏను+నాళ్లు] n. Five days. Presents sent to each other by the bride's and the bride groom's parents after the wedding పెండ్లియయిన తరువాత వియ్యంకులొకరికొకరు పంపే సారె.

(p. 205) ondili ondili. [Tel.] n. Sorrow దుఃఖము. Evil, calamity. ఆపద. Epidemic disease, murrain or cattle disease. ఒంజలి. Inconvenience. అసందర్భము. అప్పుడు ఒందిలిచేత పంపనేలేదు accident prevented (my) sending it.

(p. 526) tāvu or టావు tāvu. [Tel.] n. A place, locality; a home, room, space. స్థానము. అది నా తావున ఉన్నది I have it by me, in my hands. నా తావున పుచ్చుకొన్నారు they took it of or from me. అతడు నా తావుకు వచ్చెను he came to me. వానితావునకు పంపితిని I sent it to him. తావు, టావు or ఠావు n. A sheet of paper. తావు కాగితము.

(p. 565) tōḍu tōḍu. [Tel.] n. Swearing an oath. ఆన. An affix, as నీతోడు I swear by you. A sister తోడబుట్టువు. Also, a souring stuff, చెమిరి, తోడుచల్ల same as తోడంటు. Aid, help, convoy. సహాయము. A helper or companion. తోడుత or తోడ్త tōḍuta. adv. With, along with. తోడను, తోడుతోడ, తోడ్తోడ, తోడుతో or తోడ్తో tōḍu-tōḍa. adv. Immediately, at once, therewith, together. వెంబడిని. తోడుదొంగ tōḍu-donga. n. An accomplice. తోడునీడ tōḍu-nīḍa. n. Aid and protection. A helper or companion. సహాయము, సహాయుడు, తోడుపడు or తోడ్పడు tōḍu-paḍu. v. n. To be an aid, to assist. సహాయపడు. అట్టి ఆపదలో నాకు తోడుపడ్డాడు he stood by me in that calamity. తోడుపాటు or తోడ్పాటు tōḍu-pāṭu. n. Assistance, companionship, సహాయము. తోడుపెట్టు tōḍu-peṭṭu. v. n. To gather as a swelling. నరముతోడుపెట్టినట్టు ఉన్నది ṭhe sinew has thrown out a lump. v. a. To add souring stuff to milk. చేమిరిపెట్టు. తోడుపోవు tōḍu-pōvu. v. n. To be equal; to suffice, సరియగు. తోడుబాలు tōḍu-bālu. n. 'The fellow of the milk,' i.e., the drops of water, put for luck into a pail before milking. పాలకు తోడుచేసిననీళ్లు. తోడుబోతు tōḍu-bōtu. n. A wizard or witch. పంపుచేయువాడు.
