(p. 330) kōvuramu kōruramu. [Tel.] n. Ambush. శత్రువులను కొట్టేటందుకు దారిపక్కను దాగి యుండుట. 'గీ ఉదయగిరి మీద గోపురంబుండి నిగుడు సహితరవిరశ్మిచేబద్ధుడగుచుదోడి బలగమైననట్టి చుక్కలసత్రోవ జూపనేతెంచెననవేగుచుక్క పొడిచె.' Swa. iii. 70.

(p. 691) pakka or ప్రక్క pakka. [Tel. from పడు. & short for పడక.] n. A side, quarter or direction. పార్శ్వము. A bed or bedding, పక్కదుప్పటి a bed sheet. పక్కవేసుకొనే బొంత a bed cloth or quilt. adj. Near, next, neighbouring. పక్క యిల్లు the neighbouring house. పక్కపండ్లు the side teeth. పక్కబలము an auxiliary force; assistance, help. ఇరుపక్కలు both sides. పక్కగాపోవు to go aside. పక్కపోట్లుపొడుచు to tickle one in the ribs; to elbow, to harass. పక్కయెముక pakka-y-emuka. n. A rib. పక్కశూల or పక్కనొప్పి liver complaint.

(p. 707) panasa panasa. [from Skt. పణ్ణాస.] n. A verse in a chapter in the Vēda: వేద భాగము. పనసచెట్టు panasa-cheṭṭu. n. The jack-fruit tree. Artocarpus integrifolia. (Watts.) చెట్టుపనస or వేరుపనస the species of this tree, the fruits of which issue from the root. పనిసమాను the outrigger of a boat, పడవపొరలకుండ పక్కను కట్టేమ్రాను. పనసవాండ్లు panasa-vānḍlu. [Tel.] n. plu. Mountebanks. The name of a caste of men employed in menial offices, particularly to blow trumpets or conches at funerals. కంసాలులను యాచించే వారు. పనసవర్తన fees given to them.

(p. 1138) valavala valapala. [Tel. వలను+పల.] n. The right side. కుడిప్రక్క, దక్షిణపార్శ్వము. వలపలగిలక valapala-gilaka. n. The letter ్ (r), which is always written on the right side of the syllable before which it is pronounced, as చేచున్ to join, మాచున్ to change వలపలించు valapalin-tsu. v. a.
