(p. 21) akṣi akshi. [Skt.] n. An eye. కన్ను. మదిరాక్షి a woman: (lit.) she who is tipsy eyed. అక్షితార, the pupil of the eye. అక్షిపక్ష్మము, the eye-lash, రెప్పవెండ్రుకలు, అక్షిపటలము a coat of the eye. అక్షిభ్రువము = the eyebrow, అక్షిగోళము akshi-gōḷamu. [Skt.] n. The eyeball.

(p. 695) paṭalamu paṭalamu. [Skt.] n. A roof; thatch. ఇంటికప్పు. A multitude, troop, train, number or retinue, సమూహము, పరివారము. A film over the eye, cataract in the eye, నేత్రరోగవిశేషము. A flaw in gems, రత్నదోషము. A mark on the forehead, నొసటిబొట్టు. A section or chapter, గ్రంథభాగము. ధూమపటలము a mass or volume of smoke. పటలి paṭali n. A multitude, సమూహము.

(p. 744) pāruva pāruva. [Tel.] n. Sight, a glance. A trace, ౛ాడ. అతనికి పారువమట్టు he has not good eyes. అతనికి గరుడపారువ lit. he has an eagle's glance; (used to mean) he has habitually a side glance. గరుడపారువ a spell to remove the venom of a snake. 'విషదష్టమైనందువల్ల చనిపోయినాడని తెలిసి గరుడపారువమొదలైన అనేక మణిమంత్రౌషధములచే చూచి.' Local Records. iii. 205. ఇది పారువగుణము this is a disease brought on by magic. 'పారువపెట్టెనేమొ' ఉ. రా. vi. A certain attitude in dancing, ఆటలో నొకరీతి. 'పాదపారువ, హస్తపారువ, దేహపారువ, నయనపారువ, భృంగిపటలము, ఝంపుటెక్కు, కరలాఘవంబులాజయౌరీతులు నేర్చి.' H. i. 247.
