వక్కణ

(p. 1119) vakkaṇa or వక్కాణ vakkaṇa. [from Skt. వచ్ to speak.] n. The heading of a letter, &c. Compliments written at the head of a letter, జాబు మొదలైనవాటికి మొదట వ్రాసే వాడుకమాటలు. 'అని యిటు వ్రాసే వాడుకమాటలు. 'అని యిటు వ్రాయు పద్యమునయంబుగవ్రాసినజాబువక్కణల్ విని తన మంత్రిశేఖరుని.' Bmj. iii. 256. Titles, బిరుదావళి, చిరునామ. A commentary, వ్యాఖ్యానము. వక్కణించు Same as వక్కాణించు. (q. v.)
