(p. 226) kandi kandi. [Tel.] n. The grain called red gram. తనరి. Canjanusindicus, Pigeon Pea; No-eye (small form) or Congo-pea(large form) Dal or Cadjan Pea. Cytisus cadjan (Watts.) కందిపప్పు, See పప్పు. కందిపుల్లలు the stalks of the plant used us fuel. ఆమె కాలమునాటి కందివిత్తు she is like an old pigeon pea, i.e., she is as sharp as a needle. కందికంప thatch or straw of this plant. కందిమిడత kandi-midata. n. A locust.

A frog. ఉరుకుకప్ప or చిరికప్ప a chunam frog or flying frog. బోదురుకప్ప the bull frog. తలకప్ప a tadpole. బాపనకప్ప a frog that in croaking produces a sound like పప్పు పప్పు. కంసాలికప్ప one that produces a sound like tick, tuck. చాకలికప్ప one that produces a sound like ugm, ugm. రాచకప్ప and గోదురుకప్ప are other species. Various species of fish are called కప్పలు. See Russell, plates 19 to 20. కప్పకురుపు kappa-kurupu. n. An abscess in the heel. కప్పచిప్ప kappa-chippa. n. A bivalve shell. నీటిగుల్ల.

(p. 764) pu ccu puṭsṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To take. తీయు. To send, to remove. పంపు, పోవజేయు v. n. To decay, mortify, rot. పుచ్చిపోవు puchchi-pōvu. v. n. To be rotten, decayed పుచ్చు puṭsṭsu. adj. Rotten, decayed. 'గురువునకు పుచ్చుకూరైన నియ్యరరయవేశ్యకిత్తురర్థమెల్ల.' Vēma 69. పుచ్చు puṭsṭsu. n. The Sediment of oil. ఆముదపుమడ్డి. Filth. 'పప్పులోనుప్పు మిక్కిలి పారజల్లి, నేతిలో నాముదపుపుచ్చు నిండనించి,' Jagannadha. i. 67. పుచ్చు is used idiomatically with some nouns to give them an active force. ఆ బిడ్డను నిద్రపుచ్చినది she put the child to sleep. నూరు రూపాయలతో ఆ యిల్లు కట్టడమును సరిపుచ్చినాడు he finished the building of the house with a hundred rupees. మోసపుచ్చు to deceive, cheat. చిన్నపుచ్చు to disgrace. ప్రొద్దుపుచ్చు to pass or kill time, కాలక్షేపము చేయు. ఇంతప్రొద్దు పుచ్చినందుకు యేతువేమి what is the reason of your making so much delay? 'చాకివాడుకోక చీకాకుపడజేసి, మయలబుచ్చి మంచిమడుపుచేయు, బుద్ధిచెప్పువాడు గుద్దిననేమయా.' Vēma. 230. 'పరులమోసపుచ్చి ధరరూకలార్జించి, కడుపునించుకొనుటకానిపద్దు.' Vēma. 258.

To fry, to season with spices. ఇగురబెట్టు, తిరుగబోతబెట్టు, సాతాళించు. 'కలమాన్నము నొల్చిన పప్పునాలుగే న్పొగిచినకూరలున్.' A. i. 39. టీ పొగచినకూరలున్, ఇగురుకూరలును. పొగచుట్ట poga-ṭsūṭṭa. n. A cheroot or cigar. పొగకుంట a tobacco field. పొగాకువేసిన కుంట నేల. పొగచూరు poga-ṭsūru. v. n. To be smoked, పొగపట్టు, పొగవాసన కలిగియుండు. పొగచెట్టు or పొగాకుచెట్టు poga-cheṭṭu. n. The tobacco plant. కారుపొగాకు very strong and black tobacco. పొగపు pogapu. To cause to be fried or seasoned, సాతాళించు. పొగపు orపోపు n. Seasoning, spicery. తిరుగబోత. తాలింపు. పొగబాణము poga-bāṇamu. n. A smoke rocket, i.e., a bomb-shell, ధూమము కమ్ముకొనేటట్టుచేయు ఆకాశబాణము. 'పొగబాణములగముల్ నిగిడింపగ్రమ్మెడు, ధూమంపుపెనుమొగుల్ తొంగలింప.' Bobbili. iii. 137. పొగయు or పొవయు pogayu. v. n.
