(p. 728) pavanamu pavanamu. [Skt.] n. Air, Wind. పవనతనయుడు pavana-tanayuḍu. n. The son of the air, i.e., Hanuman (హనుమంతుడు.), Bhīma (భీముడు), or Agni (అగ్ని). పవనాశనము pavan-āṣanamu. n. A creature that lives on air, i.e., a serpent. పాము. పవనుడు or పవమానుడు pavanuḍu. n. The god of the air. Wind. the god of wind.

(p. 748) pāvanamu pāvanamu. [Skt.] adj. Pure, clean, purifying, holy. పవిత్రము. నేడు సుదినము నా జన్మము పావనమాయెను this happy day blots out all my sins: (a common phrase of joy.) పరముకన్ననేమి పావనమాసోమ్ము is wealth any object in comparison with heaven? పరమపావనీ O most holy One! పావనముచేయు to purify. ఆయన ఈ రాజ్యమును పావనముచేసెను he reformed this realm. n. To flower, to bloom. పూచు, వికసించు. పుష్పితము pushpilamu. adj. Flowered. పూచిన.

(p. 1375) svaramu svaramu. [Skt.] n. A voice, sound, noise, note, tone, tune. A vowel. An accent. Air breathed throough a nostril. కంఠధ్వని, రవము, ధ్వని, తానము; షడ్జాది సంగీతస్వరము, అచ్చు, ఉదాత్తాదివేదస్వరము, నాసాపవనము, ఒక ముక్కుగుండా విడువబడినగాలి. సప్త స్వరములు the seven notes of the gamut. స్వరభంగము a fluttering of the voice. అపస్వరము a false note. స్వరమండలము or స్వరమండలి a musical instrument composed of a number of reeds joined together and played on with the finger. 'స్వరమండలములు కిన్నెరలు.' H. v. 412. స్వరశాస్త్రము a certain mode of fortune-telling, wherein the breath is emitted from one or the other nostril, and this is taken as the basis of a certain calculation. ముక్కుగాలిని పట్టి ప్రశ్నచెప్పే శాస్త్రము. The breath that comes through the right nostril is called సూర్యనాడి and the breath that comes through the left nostril is called చంద్రనాడి. స్వరపేటిక svara-pēṭika. n. The larynx.
