(p. 535) tīru tīru. [Tel.] v. n. To end, stop, cease, elapse. To be finished, ended, complete, or ready. To be paid, delivered, discharged, avenged. To be qualified, accomplished, finished, adorned, trim, decked. To be gratified, satiated, wreaked (as passion;) to be assuaged or allayed, to go off. ముగియు, చిక్కబడు. తనివితీర to the full; so as to satisfy one's desires. తీరలేదు it came to nothing, it was ineffectual. కోరికతీసి having gained his end. ఇది నాచేత తీరదు this is out of my power. నాకు తీరీతీరక ఉన్నది I am hardly at leisure. తీరిపోవు to die. To be practicable, or possible. అక్కడికి రాతీరదు I cannot come there, I have not leisure to come. రాకుంటే తీరదు (you) must positively come. వెళ్లక తీరదు I cannot help going. తీరినగుండెగా నున్నాడు he is quite hackneyed. తీరా tirā. (Root in A of తీరు, with the intensive affix ఆ) adv. Ultimately, at last; fairly; just, merely, in short, simply. తీరా మధ్యాహ్నమయ్యేటప్పటికి when it was high noon. ఆ గోడ తీటా పడ్డది the wall actually fell down. తూరా పండుకొనేటప్పటికి when he was fairly asleep. ఆ సంగతి తీరా బయటపడేటప్పటికి when the matter at last became known. తీరా చెల్లించెను he paid it in full. తీరిక or తీరికె tīrika. n. Leisure. పనిలేక యూరకుండుట. తీరికచిక్కిన having no leisure. Adorning, trimming, decoration. దిద్దడము. తీరిన tīrina adj. Full. finished, accomplished, cured, settled. తీరు. n. Manner, way, mode, fashion, style, arrangement, విధము. The ebb of the tide. సముద్రపునీరు పొంగి తగ్గుట. రెప్పపాటు (lit: eye-lid-fall.) a wink or blink. బల్లిపాటు the fall of a lizard. చెవిటివాడు పెదవిపారు గ్రహించును a deaf man understands the motions of the lips. వారు పడే పాట్లు చెప్పనలవికాదు the hardships they suffer are indescribable. కుక్కపడేపాట్లు పడుచున్నాడు he leads the life of a dog. ఎన్నిపాట్లు పడినను వాడు చిక్కలేదు though we did all we could we did not find him. వాడు పడ్డపాట్లు వృధాగాపోవునా will all his trouble be in vain. వచ్చినపాటుననే as soon as he comes. అది ఆపాటుననే ఉన్నది it remains as it was, it remains unaltered. అది యేపాటుననున్నదో ఆపాటుననే ఉండనిమ్ము leave it as it is . అదోకపాటుగానుండేనేల a declivity, slope or descent. పోటుపాటు the ebb and flow of a river or sea, బోర్లపాటులు vile pranks. పొరపాటు an error. Added to some verbs it serves as an affix like-tion, -ness or -ment and forms a noun, as నగుబాటు laughter. తగులుబాటు cost, expenditure. దిద్దుబాటు a correction. కుదురుబాటు settlement. ఒంటరిపాటు loneliness. ఒంటరిపాటున alone, unaccompanied. ఆపాటున where-upon, thereupon, on that occasion. పనిపాటులు jobs. పాట్లమారి a drudge, మిక్కిలి శ్రమపడు స్వభావముగలవాడు. పాటుపడు pāṭu-paḍu. Sharp, hot, తీక్ష్ణము. మిడిమాధ్యాహ్నము midday, noon. మిడిముళ్లు spurs. మిడికించు miḍi-kinṭsu. v. n. To blink (the eyes), మిణకరించు. 'కమలుమిడికించునుగుడ్లగూబరీతి.' Pragmatic, hot headed, haughty. తలకొట్లమారియైన. తలకొవ్విన. 'అడిగినజీతంబియ్యని మిడిమేలపుదొరనుగొలిచి మిడుకుటకంటెన్. వడిగలయెద్దులగట్టుక మడిదున్నుక బ్రతుకవచ్చు మహిలోసుమతీ.' Sumati Satakam. మిడిమేలము miḍi-mēlamu. n. Insolence, haughtiness, మిడసిపాటు. 'మగువలుమగలని యెరుగడు, మృగములకోరసిలడేమి మిడిమేలమితండగపడుననితలచితిమే.' R. ii. 112. మిడియ miḍiya. n. A word of the Veda, వేద వాక్యము. 'క తలచియపుడందొకింతయు దొలుతటితరవాతి మిడియదోచకమరియె వ్వలనరసినశ్రుతిశబ్దము పలకునకున్ రాక పెగడుపరచినగలకన్.' పర. ii. మిడియు miḍiyu. v. n. To flash or fly off as a chip of wood or a drop of water. ఎగురు. ఆ రాతిచెక్క మిడిసిపడినది the chip of the stone leaped out and fell down. మిడివిల్లు miḍi-villu. n. A pellet bow, ఉండవిల్లు. 'తడియుచుకైతవతరుణియెక్కిన మిడివింటిగతినున్న మెలతలుడాసి.' Dab. 170. మిడిసిపడు miḍisi-paḍu. v. n. To bounce, leap; to be insolent, మిట్టిపడు, త్రుళ్లిపడు. మిడిసిపడి చచ్చినాడు he suddenly fell down dead. మిడిసిపాటు miḍisi-pāṭu. n. Bouncing, exultation, pride, త్రుళ్లుట.

(p. 1159) vālu or వ్రాలు vālu. [Tel.] v. n. To bend or weigh down. To light or perch. To hang loose; to fall down. కొమ్మ మొదలైనవివంగు, చెట్టుమీదిపక్షిదిగు, కిందికిదిగు, దిగువపడు, వంగు, ౛ారు, ఒరగు. To increase, అతిశయించు. v. a. A bright eyed woman; lit: a long-eyed girl. దీర్ఘములైనకన్నులుగల స్త్రీ, ఆయతాక్షి, విశాలాక్షి. వాలుగడుపు or వాల్గడుపు vālu-gaḍupu. n. A projecting or protuberant belly, బొ౛్జ. వాలుగొమ్ము a canal or sluice. వాలుచు or వాల్చు vāluṭsu. v. a. To bend, incline, slant. కిందికివంచు. To cut off, కోసివేయు. రెప్పవాలుచు to droop the eye-lids, i.e., to close the eyes. రాత్రిఅంతా కన్నులు వాల్చలేదు I did not close my eyes all night. ఆ మంచమును వాల్చినాడు he slanted the couch. 'వాలినకిన్కమైవాలు నీవాడి; వాలువజిహ్వలువాలుతుననిన, జందనగంధులు జలమురెట్టింప.' HD. i. 947. టీ వాలిన, వచ్చిన, కిన్కమై, కోపమువల్ల; వాలు, దీర్ఘమైన; ఈ వాడివాలున, ఈ తీక్ష్ణ ఖడ్గముచేతను; జిగ్వలు, నాలుకలను; ఈ తీక్ష్ణ ఖడ్గముచేతను; జిహ్వలు, నాలుకలను; వాలుతుననిన, కోసివేతుననేటప్పటికి. వాలుచుక్క or వాల్చుక్క vālu-ṭsukka. n. The planet Venus or its regent. శుక్రుడు. 'పొలుపొంద తూర్పున బొడిచెవాల్చుక్క.' Sar. D. 558. వాలుచేప vālu-chēpa. n. A kind of fish called Chirocentius nudius. మత్స్యవిశేషము. వాలుడు vāluḍu. adj. Hanging down. వాలుడుకొమ్మలు branches that hang down. n. A kind of tree. ఎర్రవాలుడు the red kind. వాలుడుచెక్క the bark of this tree used in medicine. వాలుడుతైలము the oil extracted from this bark. 'కోరివాలుడుతైలంబు గ్రోలువారు.' P. i. 725. వాలుపు or వాల్పు valupu. n. Bending down, వాల్చుట. వాలుప్రొద్దు vālu-pṛoddu. n. The morning or evening sun, లేతప్రొద్దు, అపరాహ్ణము, వాలుమగడు vālamagaḍu. n. The hero of the sword, i.e., A brave man. శురుడు. 'క తాలిమియుధృతియుప్రజ్ఞా. శీలతయు పరాత్మగుణవిశేషజ్ఞతయున్, కాలోచితకార్యముగల, వాలుమగండేలు జలధవలయితధరణిన్,' P. iii. 32.

(p. 1283) saṃrambhamu sam-rambhamu. [Skt.] n. Haste, flurry, agitation, trepidation, fear. తొందర, ఇష్టానిష్టకార్యజాతత్వర. వేగిరపాటు, తొట్రుపాటు, భయము. Wrath, rage, కోపము. సంరంభి sam-rambhi. n. One who is enraged, or hurried. ఆగ్రహముగలవాడు, తొట్రుపాటుగలవాడు 'భోజపురయాత్రారంభసంరంభియై.' A. v. 54. సంరభించు sam-rambh-inṭsu. v. n. To be excited or flurried. వేగిరపడు. To burst out in rage, fury or pride, ఆగ్రహించు, విజృంభించు.
