One's own daughter. ఆత్మకుడు ātmakuḍu. [Skt.] adj. Formed of. అమృతాత్మకుడు one who has a sweet nature. ఆత్మగతమున ātama-gatamu-na. adj. Mentally, in the heart. ఆత్మఘాతకుడు ātmā-ghātakuḍu. n. A suicide or self murderer. ఆత్మజుడు ātma-juḍu. n. A son, as springing from oneself. ఆత్మజ్ఞుడు ātmagnyuḍu. n. A sage, who knows God and his own heart. ఆత్మనేపదము ātma-nē-padamu. n. The grammatical name for the middle voice in కొను; as వ్రాసికొను. ఆత్మవంచన ātma-vanchana. n. Self delusion. ఆత్మస్తుతి ātma-stuti. n. Self applause. ఆత్మార్థము ātmārthamu. adv. For oneself. ఆత్మీయము ātmīyamu. adj. One's own. తనది.

(p. 208) oḍi oḍi. [Tel.] n. The lap, the loins: తొడ పైభాగము. A pocket or pouch formed by a fold in a person's vest. Also, same as ఒడువు. (q. v.) పశుయోని. ఒడిలోపోయు to put in one's pocket, to devour. ఒళ్లో or ఒడిలో కూర్చుండు to sit in the lap. ఆవుకు ఒడిజారినది నేడో రేపో దూడవేయును the cow is on the point of calving. ఒడికట్టు oḍi-kaṭṭu. n. A girdle, as part of female dress. ఒడ్డాణము. చెంగాని ఒడికట్టు a red petticoat or girdle. ఒడికట్టు oḍi-kaṭṭu. v. t. To bind up the apron, &c. as a pocket. To be ready or eager to do a thing యుత్నించు. వాడు పాపానికి ఒడికట్టెను he set himself to commit crime.

(p. 317) koḍime koḍime. [Tel.] n. A ship, a boat. ఓడ. A fisherman's basket చేపలబుట్ట. Blame అవదూరు. Sin పాపము. కొడిమోలాడ a wicked man. పాపాత్ముడు.

(p. 740) pāpamu pāpamu. [Skt.] n. Sin, crime, evil. అతణ్ని గురించి పాపము పుణ్యము రెండు ఎరుగును I know nothing about him either good or bad. interj. Alas! O dear! what a pity! unhappily! పాపము, వారుపడినారు alas! they fell down. ఆపె అక్కకు అన్నానికిలేదు పాపము her sister, alas! has nothing to eat. ఆ చిన్నవాణ్ని కొట్టకు పాపము for shame! don't beat the boy. మహా తెలిసినవాడవు పాపము you are a clever fellow, to be sure! వాడు నమ్మినాడు పాపము he believed it, alas! పాపము ఆ రూకలు అతడు చెల్లించినాడు to do him justice, he paid the money. పాపాత్ముడు, పాపపురుషుడు, పాపి or పాపోష్ఠుడు pāp-ātmuḍu. n. A sinner, wretch, villain. పాపాత్మురాలు a wicked woman, a sinful wretch. పాపి pāpi. interj. A vocative particle addressed to a woman or man. My dear! ఒరేపాపి my good fellow! పాపికా, ఓపాపోష్ఠులారా O wicked woman. 'కోపించి యాతండు గొంతి కిట్లనియెల, పాపికాబ్రమసితే? ప్రాణవల్లభుని దూపొడ గూడునేతుంపర్లునిండ.' BD. iii. 576. పాపోష్ఠి pāpisṭhi. adj. Horrid, scandalous, nefarious (a general term of disgust.) పాపిష్ఠుడు pāpishṭhuḍu. n. A great sinner, a miscreant. మిక్కిలిపాపి. పాపుడు pāpuḍu. n. A sinner. A cruel man, హింసకుడు. A wretch, అధముడు. Bhag. X.

(p. 767) puṇyamu puṇyamu. [Skt.] n. Virtue, holiness, merit, excellence, purity. ధర్మము. A good deed, a good or meritorious work or action, a work of supererogation, that which is more than required as a matter of duty. సుకృతము. adj. Virtuous, sacred, holy, pure, righteous. పవిత్రము. Good, excellent, మనోజ్ఞము. Charitable, generous. పుణ్యశ్లోకుడు a celebrated man. పుణ్యకథలు godly legends. పుణ్యకాలము an auspicious time. పుణ్యస్త్రీ (corrupted into పునిస్త్రీ) a happy woman, one whose husband is living. నన్ను ఉత్త పుణ్యానికి కొట్టినాడు he beat me without cause, meaning the same as నిష్కారణముగా. నీపుణ్యముచేత తొందరవచ్చినది (ironical) for this trouble we may thank you. ఇది అంతా మీ పుణ్యము this is all due to you goodness. నీపుణ్యముండును వాని జోలికిమాత్రము పోకు for goodness' sake do not meddle with him. పుణ్యానికి ఇచ్చినపొలము a field granted in free gift. A well known verse says. శ్లోకార్ధేన ప్రవక్ష్యామి యుదక్తం గ్రంథకోటిభిః, పరోపకారః పుణ్యాయపాపాయ పరపీడనం. పుణ్యజనుడు puṇya-januḍu. n. A man of excellence, a holy man, సుజనుడు. A Rākshasa, an evil spirit, రాక్షసుడు. పుణ్యజనేశ్వరుడు puṇya-janēṣvaruḍu. n. Kubēra. పుణ్యబూమి puṇya-bhūmi. n. The Holy land (of the Hindus), i.e., Hindustan, the land between the Himalayas and the Vindhyas. పుణ్యలోకము puṇya-lōkamu. n. Heaven. పుణ్యవంతుడు puṇya-vantuḍu. n. One who is holy or virtuous. ధార్మికుడు, అదృష్టవంతుడు. ఈ విషయములో అతడు చాలా పుణ్యవంతుడు. in this respect he is very lucky. పుణ్యస్త్రీ or పుణ్యాంగన puṇya-strī. n. A good housewife, good woman, lady. పుణ్యాత్ముడు puny-ātmuḍu. n. A holy, pious or charitable person, పుణ్యస్వరూపుడు. పుణ్యాహము puṇy-āhamu. n. A holy or sacred day, పుణ్యదినము. పుణ్యాహవాచనము puṇy-āha-vāchanamu. n. The consecration or hallowing of a ceremony. A ceremonial purification. పుణ్యుడు puṇyudu. n. A holy or virtuous man. పుణ్యులారా O holy men!

(p. 804) poṭṭu poṭṭu. [Tel.] n. Husk, bran. ఉముక. The scales of fish. Vēma. 1364. పొట్టు దాన్యము grain that has a coat or husk, as వడ్లు, అరిగలు, కొర్రలు, చామల్ను వరిగెలు, &c. పొట్టుకర్ర an empty sprout in a ear of corn. గట్టివిడిచిపెట్టి పొట్టుకు పోరాడెదవా will you give up the real for the false? మీదితోలు పొట్టుపొట్టుగా రాలిపోయినది the skin peeled off in scales. పొట్టుపొరలగు poṭṭu-poral-agu. v. n. To be troubled, harassed or tormented. పీడితమగు. 'అప్పాపాత్ముండెట్లునుం జక్కంబడక తనచలంబుతోన పొట్టపొరలయ్యె కయ్యంబు పొడుచు వాడుగాని.' M. V. iv. 88.

(p. 1058) yaugapadyamu yauga-padyamu. [Skt. from యుగపత్.] n. Simultaneity, ఏకకాలము. 'యౌగపద్యాభియానంబున.' P. ii. 14. టీ ఏకకాలమందలిగమనించుట చేట. 'సర్వేషామేవపాపానాం యౌగపద్యేవనాశనం.' Lalit. iii. 33.

(p. 1165) vikṛtamu vikṛitamu. [Skt. from వికారము.] adj. Changed, altered, transformed. Imperfect, deformed, fried. వికారమైన, విరూపమైన, విజాతీయమైన, వికలాంగమైన. 'వివిధ పాపాత్ములు వికృతశరీరులై యాతనాబాధితులగుటమానె.' M. XVIII. i. 39. 'పరువడి వికృతరూపముననయోధ్యకరిగి.' ND. iv. 496. వకృతి vikṛiti. n. Change, transformation, metamorphosis; distortion, depravity. వికారము, కించిత్ప్రకృత్యన్యధాభావము, వికాసక్షోభవిక్షేపమనోజాత వికారము. In grammatical treatises this name is applied to the Telugu language, as distinguished from అద్యప్రకృతి the Sanskrit. 'వికృతి బాసిన నాకువేషమేమిటికి.' L. xvii. 64. The name of a Telugu year.

(p. 1203) vṛṣaluḍu vṛishaluḍu. [Skt.] n. A Sudra. శూద్రుడు. A wretch, పాపాత్ముడు. వృషలి vṛishali. n. A female Sudra; a wretched woman, a barren woman, a woman who gives birth to still-born children. శూద్రస్త్రీ. పెండ్లికాకమునుపు రజస్వల అయినపడుచు. గొడ్రాలు. మృతప్రసూత, చచ్చుడుబిడ్డలుగలది.
