Porridge. పిండి నూకలువేసి ౛ావగాకాచినది. చింతంబలి paste made of pounded tamarind seeds. అంబట్టి కుండ a porridge-pot. అంబటిప్రొద్దు break-fast time: about noon. 'పలుచనియంబళుల్ చెరుకుపాలెడనీళ్లు ... వడపిందెలు నీరుచల్లయున్ వెలయగబెట్టు వెసవిఁజందనచర్చమున్నగన్.' Amuk. i. 41.

(p. 290) kukka kukka. [Tel.] n. A dog. ఆడకుక్క a bitch. కుక్కపిల్ల a pup, or whelp, a puppy. కుక్క adj. Inferior. కుక్కగొర్రె kukka-gorre. n. The rib-faced deer or barking deer, Cervulus muntjac. (F.B.I.) కుక్కతులసి kukka-tulasi. n. The white basil: (Ainslie. ii. 91.) ocymum album, as distinguished from the proper Tulasi called ocymum sanctum. కుక్కపాల kukka-pāla. n. A plant from the fibrous leaves of which bow strings, &c. are made. Aletris hyacinthoides; Sansevicra zeylanica. (Roxb.) చాగచెట్టు. A wild species of the పాలచెట్టు, Periplocā Tunicata:. అజగంధీ, వటపత్రిక. కుక్కముల్లు kukka-mullu. n. An eruption like measles, miliary eruption or nettle rash. కుక్కమూతి పిందె kukka-mūti-pinde. A blasted fruit. A proverb says చెట్టుచెడేకాలానికి కుక్కమూతి పిందెలు పట్టుతవి producing blasted fruit is a mark that the tree will never thrive again. Metaphorically, wild behaviour portends ruin. కుక్కవావింట kukka-vāvinṭa. n. A plant called the Dog Mustard, Cleome viscosa. శ్వాసబర్బర.

(p. 751) pinde or పిందియ pinde. [Tel.] n. A tender fruit. చింతపిందె a very raw tamarind fruit.

(p. 780) pūpa pūpa. [Tel.] n. A tender fruit just formed, పువ్వుపిందె. An infant. శిశువు. The pupil of the eye, కంటిపాప. adj. Tender, young. లేత.

(p. 1124) vaḍa vaḍa. [Tel.] n. Heat, వేడిమి, ఎండసెగ. తాపము. Trouble, pain, labour, శ్రమము. A sort of cake, గారె. A kind of hot cake. adj. Hot, వేడి. వడకొట్టి చచ్చిపోయినాడు or వడతగిలి చచ్చిపోయినాడు he died of sunstroke. 'నిప్పులవసంతములాడు నెండలవడజల్లుపడమటి వాయువులును.' P. i. 304. వడగల్లు vaḍa-gallu. n. A hailstone. 'రాలెనొయ్యనవడగండ్లు పాలపండ్లు.' A. iv. 118. పడగవ్వ vaḍa-gavva. n. The name of a certain fish, a species of Scomber. Russell, plate 139. వడగాలి or వడగాడ్పు vaḍi-gāli. n. The hot or land wind. నిప్పుగాలి. వడగొను vaḍa-gonu. v. n. To feel hot, తాపమునుపొందు. వడపప్పు vaḍa-pappu. n. A dish of green gram, split and soaked in water, with salt, pepper, assafœtida, &c. బడలికతీరుటకు నానవేసి కొంచెము ఉప్పు ఉంగువకలిపిన పెసరపప్పు. వడపిందె vaḍa-pinde.- n. A tender fruit that falls down from a tree through the heat of the weather. వడముడి vaḍa-muḍi. n. One who makes it hot for his enemies, శత్రువులకు తాపమును గలుగజేయువాడు. A Telugu name of Bhīma, one of the heroes of the Pāndu race. భీముడు. 'క కడువడి ౛నియంతంతంబుడమిబడినకరులగములు పొరలుట కతనన్ వడముడియడచినతెరువేర్పడగని వేవేగతేరు పరపెం గదియున్.' M. VI. ii. 375.

(p. 1297) sapinduḍu sa-pinḍuḍu. [Skt.] n. A kinsman to the seventh generation in a descent from a common ancestor who has right to partake of the funeral cake. పిండభాగి, సప్త పురుషపర్యంతజ్ఞాతి, ఏడుతరములకులోని దాయాది, సపిండీకరణము sa-pinḍīn-karaṇamu. n. The name of a particular rite celebrated on the 12th day after a death. చచ్చిన పండ్రెండోవాడు చేసే సంవత్సరాంతశ్రాద్ధము.
