(p. 17) ambārapiṇuzu or పిడుదు ambārapiṇuzu. [Tel.] n. A tick which infests animals. పశువులను పట్టే పురుగు.

(p. 28) accu aṭṭsu. n. A stamp, a form for printing or for any other impression, a type, a printing press. An axle-tree. A mould. The handle of a handmill, A weaver's reed or stay. An image, or picture. ప్రతి రూపమును కల్పించేటిది, ఇరుసుమాను, తిరగటి పిడి, బట్ట వేసేటందుకు సాధనమైనది, ప్రతిబింబము. పోత అచ్చు the mould wherein clay or metal is cast. ఇటికె అచ్చు the box or mould used in making bricks. అచ్చక్షరములు printed letters. అచ్చువేయు to print. ఇంకా అచ్చువేయని unprinted, unpublished.అచ్చువేసేవాడు a printer. అక్షరాల అచ్చులు types of letters. బెల్లపు అచ్చు a square mould into which boiled treacle is poured, and thus formed into cakes. అచ్చుబెల్లము a lump of jaggery, అచ్చొత్తు to seal, impress with a mark, to print అచ్చుకూటము (a Madras word,) A printing press office ముద్రాశాల. అచ్చుబల్ల the frame on which a weaver's reed is fixed. అచ్చువేసినయెద్దు a 'brahminy' bull that is marked or stamped and is allowed to wander at large, as consecrated to the deity. అచ్చుకట్టు or అచ్చుకట్టువేయు v. a. To prepare land for wet cultivation by throwing up banks to divide it into plots, partitions or beds. మళ్లుగా ఏర్పరచు అచ్చుకట్టించినమడి or అచ్చుకట్టు పొలము a field which is divided into beds for wet cultivation. అచ్చులపోయు to find yarn on the frame for weaving (Cuddapa.) అచ్చుగా aṭṭsu-gā. [Tel.] adv. Precisely, exactly, clearly, evidently. 'పిచ్చుకపై బ్రహ్మాస్తము నచ్చుగ దొడిగినవితాన.' T. iv. 22.

(p. 80) aravuḍu or అరవుడు aravuḍu. [Tel.] n. Bit, fragment, rag. తునక, చింపి, పొడి, తూటు. 'పరువెంట్రుకల కోరకొప్పిడి, కావి యరవుడు తనిట్టునట్టుమజుట్టి.' HD. ii. 1376. 'మైమరుపరువుళ్లుగజేసి లీలనంగములెల్లన్ బరియలుగజేయ.' M. VI. ii. 319.

(p. 89) alugu alugu. [Tel.] n. A sluice to carry off water from a pond that overflows. The tip of an arrow, the blade of a sword. పరీవాహము, చెరువునకు నీరెక్కువైనపుడు అది పోవుట కేర్పరచినదారి; బాణము యొక్క కొనకు వేసే యినుప ముక్క, కత్తిపిడికిపైని ఉక్కు తునుక. 'కజ్జలాన్విత ధూమాసిత రేఖపై యలుగుగా విజ్ఞాన దీపాంకురాకృతి.' A pref. 7.

(p. 98) aśani aṣani. [Skt.] n. A thunderbolt. వజ్రాయుధము, పిడుగు.

(p. 165) uppiḍi uppiḍi. [Tel. from ఉప్పు+ఇడి] adj. Saltless, unsalted. ఉప్పు లేని. ఉప్పిడిచప్పిడి మాటలు nonsense. ఉప్పిడి చప్పిడి good or bad. ఉప్పిడి చప్పిడి లేని కూడు dry bread: lit. a mess without any flavour.

(p. 177) ūlu ūlu. [Tel. for కూలు) v. n. To fall. పడు. 'ఉసిరికమాని మీద పిడుగూలిన కాయలుడుల్లునా కృతిన్.' Hurling a thunderbolt to crush a fly.

(p. 200) ēru ēru. [Tel.] v. t. To glean or pick up one after another ఎదుటనుండు వస్తువుల నొకటొకటిగా ఎత్తు. To attain age as in ఈడేరు ఏరించు ērinṭsu. v. t. To cause to pick up one after another. ఏరునట్లుచేయు. ఏరుకొను ēru-konu. v. i. To pick up. ఏరుపిడక ēru-piḍaka. n. A cowdung cake that is picked up and is not mixed with bran, &c., for fuel.

(p. 209) ottaḍi or ఒత్తిడి ottaḍi. [Tel.] n. Pressure, trouble, pain సమ్మర్దము, రాపిడి, బాధ.

(p. 213) orapiḍi ora-piḍi. [Tel. ఒరపు+ఇడి] n. Pressure, friction రాయిడి, రాపిడి. An unworthy man అయోగ్యుడు.

(p. 213) oramu or ఒరియు orayu. [Tel.] v. n. To rub together, be in contact. To touch or graze, as a bullet. To be bruised. To struggle or compete with. విద్యతో నొరయు to become familiar with (learning.) ఉంగరము వేలును ఒరిసికొనిపోయినది the ring has grown into the finger. గుండు ఒరిసిపోయినది the ball grazed (my hand.) నేను పడినందున నా మోకాలు ఒరిసికొనిపోయినది I fell and my knee was bruised. ఒరయు v. a. To rub రాచు, to try on the touchstone ఒరపెట్టు. To test or to examine పరీక్షించు. To consider or enquire into విచారించు. To search for వెదకు. ఒరయిక ora-ika. n. Rubbing, contact రాపిడి.

(p. 213) ori ori. [Tel.] n. Plunder, spoil దోపిడి. A. vi. 110.

(p. 214) oli oli. [Tel.] n. Robbery దోపిడి, అపహరణము. ఒలిపడు to be robbed దోపుడుపోవు. ఒలిపుచ్చుకొను To betray, shew. బయట పడేటట్టుచేయు. To lose, let go పోగొట్టు.

(p. 218) ōra ōra. [Tel.] n. The side, border, edge. అంచు. A whole day and night అహోరాత్రము. ఒక ఓరను ఉంటిమి we stood on one side. ఓరగా sidelong, sideways. తలుపోరగా చేసెor ఓరవాకిలి చేసినది she opened the door a little, or, set it a jar. ఓరబోయి becoming crooked వంకరపోయి. BD. vi. ఓరచూపు ōra-ṭsūpu. n. A sidelong glance. బెళుకుటోర యొయారపు చూపు leeringly. ఓరంతపొద్దు ōranta-poddu. (ఓర+అంత+ప్రొద్దు) the livelong day, all day long, దినమంతయు, ఆసాయము. Also, a little రవంత, ఇసుమంత. 'ఉప్పులేకుండన నోరంతప్రొద్దు చప్పిడితాగిన సాగునే కాళ్లు? రాలేకొదుగబడి రాకయున్నాడు.' Pal. 316.
