(p. 99) aśvatthamu aṣvatthamu. [Skt.] n. The holy fig tree (Ficus Religiosa.) పిప్పలము, రావిచెట్టు అశ్వత్థమునుంచి వెంపలి చెట్టుపర్యంతము from the cedar to the hyssop. అశ్వత్థ పత్రాకారమైన heart-shaped, shaped like a fig leaf. అశ్వత్థామ. a certain hero, the son of Drona.

(p. 177) ūṣaṇamu ūshaṇamu. [Skt.] n. The stimulant called త్రికట్టు, viz., శొంఠి, పిప్పలి, or మిర్యాలు ginger, pepper, or long pepper.

Cunning కపటము. గజపిప్పలి gaja-pippali. n. Long pepper. గజపుష్పము gaja-pushpamu. n. A plant also called Messua Roxburghi. నాగకేసరము. R. v. 310. గజరాజము gaja-rājamu. n. A sort of cloth. BD. iii. 103. గజరిపువు the enemy of the elephant, i.e., the lion. గజాననుడు gaj-ānanuḍu. 'Elephant faced.' -- an epithet of Gaṇēsa వినాయకుడు.

The name of a district of Bengal (now called Tipperah) called after its kind, Tripura, a giant who was vanquished by Siva: who, as 'slayer of Tripura' derives hence the name త్రిపురజిత్తు, త్రిపుసూదనుడు, త్రిపురాంతకుడు, త్రిపురారి, &c. త్రిపురదేవి or త్రిపురసుందరి the Bonạ Dea, Venus. త్రిఫలము tri-phalamu. n. The three species of myrobalan; the Phyllanthea emblica కరక, Terminalia chebula తాడి, and Terminalia speciosa ఉసిరిక.

(p. 756) pippali pippali. [Skt.] n. Long pepper, Anthrocnemum indicum. పిప్పళ్లబియ్యము grains of this pepper. నరుపిప్పలి a plant called Sphenoclea zeylanica. Rox. i. 507. కొయ్యపిప్పలి a plant called Salicornia brachiata. గజపిప్పలి a plant called Pothos officinalis, or Tomex scbifera. Rox. iii. 819. అది పిప్పళ్లబస్తావలెనున్నది it (or she) is as strong as a horse: lit: as a sack (బస్తా) of this pepper. పిప్పలికట్టె the dried root of the long pepper. పిప్పలిదుంప the root of the long pepper. పిప్పళ్లమోడి the thick or woody part (మోడి) of the long pepper vine.

(p. 905) bokkena bokkena. [Tel.] n. A bucket for drawing water from a well or for baling a boat. ఓడలో నీళ్లుదేవి పారబోయు పాత్రము, నూతిలో నీళ్లు తోడేది. A nosebag for horses, the corn bag put on a horse's nose. గుర్రములకు దాణాపెట్టేది, తోపరా. బొక్కెనాకు bokken-āku. n. The Creeping Vervain, Verbena nodiflora, తోయపిప్పలి. Linn.
