(p. 193) ē The pronoun or sign of question; interrogative adjective. Which, what. Thus ఏ చెట్టు which tree? ఏ పిల్లలు what children? or, if అయినా is affixed to the word with which it is used, it is translated any: as ఏ చెట్టయినా, ఏ పిల్లలయినా any tree, any children.

(p. 225) kanta kanta. [Tel.] n. A hole, cleft, gap, aperture, fissure, chink. A passage, alley, way. పిల్లలకంత a small lane.

(p. 259) kalugu or కల్గు kalugu. [Tel.] v. n. To live exist. To be. ఉండు. To happen, occur. To become అగు. To endure ఓపు. To be born పుట్టు. To meet కూడు. ఒక రాజుకలడు there was a certain king. అతనికి పిల్లలుకలిగి children being born to him. సొమ్ముకలవాడు one who has money. నాకు న్యాయము కలిగినది I got justice. అట్లా అనడముకద్దు (or కలదు) it is usual to say so. పనికలిగి వచ్చిరి they came about some business. వ్రాయగలడు he can write. అట్లా మేము చెల్లించగలవారము కాము we are not liable to pay this money. వీరాదిగాగలరాజులు (RYD. 2060) these and other princes. తెలివిగలవాడు a man of sense. యాభైయేండ్లుగలవాడు aged fifty. To be sore. వానికి కండ్లుకలిగినవి he has sore eyes. v. t. To have, to show కలిగియుండు, కనుపరుచు. 'కరుణగలుగుమ్మ కమలనేత్ర.' (భార. అది. viii.)

(p. 262) kava kava. [Tel.] n. Couple, pair. కవలవారు or కవలపిల్లలు twins. కన్నుగవ a pair of eyes. చన్గవ or చన్నుగవ a pair of breasts కవలు Kusa and Lavas the sons of Rāma; also Nakula and Sahādēva the Pāndava brothers.

(p. 275) kāru kāru. [Tel.] n. A season, time of the year. కాలము. చిన్నకారు childhood, youth. తొలికారు the opening of the year. కారు మెరుపు or తొలికరుమెరుపు or క్రొక్కారు మెరుంగు vernal lightning తొలివానకాలపు మెరుపు. నవకారు Spring. ఈ సంవత్సరములో ముక్కారులున్ను పండినవి the three seasons have yielded crops this year. ఒక కారు కోడిపిల్లలను అమ్మివేసినాను I have sold one brood of chickens. నాలుగు కారులగిత్త a heifer four years old. కారు కాలము, ఫలకాము harvest time. కారు పంట, a crop that depends on the rain. వర్షాకాలమందు నీరాసరానుపండే పల్లపుపంట, కారువడ్లు rice grown in the hot season, ఎండకాలమందు పండే వరి ధాన్యము. కారువాయిధర price current of grain at the time of reaping. A plough-share. పటుకారు or నీరుకారు tongs, a pair of pincers. Darkness, jetty blackness. నలుపు, చీకటి. కారుకమ్మెను darkness came on. A forest కారుచిచ్చు wild or forest fire. A fowl, a bird. కోళ్లు poultry, fowls. సీమకోడి a foreign fowl. i.e., a turkey, or Guinea fowl. పిల్లలకోడి a brood hen. కక్కెరకోడి the red painted partridge, Pernix Picta. ఎర్రకోడి the red spur-fowl, Francolinus Spadiccus. చిమిటి కోడి the painted spur-fowl. (p. 349) gampa gampa. [Tel.] n. A basket. గంపెడుపిల్లలు a swarm of children. గంపెడు బొంకులు a pack of lies. గంపపులుగు gampa-pulugu. (So called because sold in baskets.) n. A wild cock or jungle fowl. Phasianus Gallus.

(p. 371) guṃzu gunzu [Tel.] v. a. To pull: ఈడ్చు. To wash clothes or to mangle linen ఉదుకు n. Pulp; pith. గు౛్జు. గుం౛ుకొను gunzu-konu. v. a. To haul, pull, draw by force. గుం౛ునుసుకు gunzu-nusuku. n. Mocking, bear's play; gibing, joking. గుంజుపిట్ట gunzu-piṭṭa. n. Disgrace, dishonor. ఇందువల్ల కులమునకంతా చిన్నతనము వచ్చినది this is a disgrace to the whole caste. చిన్నది chinnadi. n. A little one. A girl, a lass. ఈ చిన్నది అతనిభార్య this girl is his wife. పెద్ద చిన్నది the eldest daughter; or, a grown girl.

(p. 574) daṇṭa danṭa. [Tel.] n. A match, or equal, ౛ంట. A rival, a competitor. A couple or pair. A hero, a genius సమర్థుడు. A dashing or spirted man or woman దిట్టతనము గలవాడు, దిట్టతనముగలది, నేర్పరి. adj. Rival: two, coupled, as twins; spirted, unrivalled. ప్రౌఢమైన. దంటతనము danṭa-tanamu. n. Ceremonial uncleanness for ten days after the birth of a child, జాతాశాచము. పురుడుపుచ్చు to put away a woman's uncleanness, వురిటిల్లు or వురుటిల్లు the house wherein a birth has happened, ప్రసవగృహము. నెలవురుడు the lesser degree of uncleanness, extending from the 10th to the 30th day. పురిటి పురుగు a reptile, imagined to injure new born children. ఆమె పురుడుపోసినాను I got her through her confinement, I attended on her in her childbed.
