(p. 76) amlamu amlamu. [Skt.] adj. Acid, sour. పుల్లని. ఆమ్లము n. Acidity. పులుసు. అమ్లిక amlika. n. A tamarind tree. చింతచెట్టు ఆమ్లవర్గము amla-vargamu. [Skt.] A class of trees with acid leaves or fruits, such as the lime, orange, pomegranate, tamarind, &c.

(p. 80) ari ari. [Tel.] Affix denoting possession. నేర్పు skill, నేర్పరి skilful, సిగ్గు shame, సిగ్గరి timid. అరి ari. [Tel.] n. A bowstring. Tax, tribute. వింటినారి, ప్రజలవద్ద రాజులు మర్యాదకు పుచ్చుకొనేపాలు. అరివెట్టు to pay revenue. ఆరిగోరులు the share both of the government and of the inhabitants, i.e., the total produce. పుల్లరి tax on grazing lands. 'అరులుమిగుల గొనిరాజులు, నరులకు నెంతయును భయమొనర్తురు.' M. III. v. 302.

(p. 82) aruzu aruzu. [Tel.] n. A kind of fish. మత్స్యభేదము. One kind is కల్లరుజు. H. iv. 225. And another పుల్లరుజు. H. iv. 226.

(p. 86) alagā alagā. [H.] adj. Separate, unconnected. ప్రత్యేకమైన, అలగాభూమి pasture-land, waste land kept for grazing. అలగా పుల్లరి grazing tax levied on cattle not belonging to the village. అలగా అసామి a private individual, one not concerned, not a regular cultivator.

(p. 216) ōkaceṭṭu ōka-cheṭṭu. [Tel.] n. A small tree called Carissa Carondas, bearing an acid fruit. పుల్లకలివె.

(p. 226) kandi kandi. [Tel.] n. The grain called red gram. తనరి. Canjanusindicus, Pigeon Pea; No-eye (small form) or Congo-pea(large form) Dal or Cadjan Pea. Cytisus cadjan (Watts.) కందిపప్పు, See పప్పు. కందిపుల్లలు the stalks of the plant used us fuel. ఆమె కాలమునాటి కందివిత్తు she is like an old pigeon pea, i.e., she is as sharp as a needle. కందికంప thatch or straw of this plant. కందిమిడత kandi-midata. n. A locust.

(p. 327) kōti kōti. [Tel.] n. A monkey. తాను చెడ్డ కోతి వనమెల్లచెరిచినది 'one sickly sheep infects the flock.' కోతిపుండు బ్రహ్మరాక్షసి యైనట్లున్నది it is like making' mountains of molchills. కోతికొమ్మంచి kōti-kommanchi. [కోతి+కొమ్మ+అంచు or అనుచు.] n. A certain game. కోతివన్నె kōti-vanne. n. Monkey colour, i.e., brown. కోతిపుల్లలు kōti-pullalu. n. Certain sticks fixed in a loom. మగ్గపుపలకదారములను మీదికి తగిలించే పుల్లలు.

(p. 424) cīpuru chīpuru. [Tel.] n. A broom. చీపురు గడ్డి a kind of grass. Aristida sctacea. (Watts.) చీపురుపుల్లలు the twigs of which a broom is made. చీపురుముండ్లు bits of a broom like burns. చీపురుకట్ట. rubbish.

(p. 512) taravāṇi taravāṇi. [Tel.] n. Sour or fermented rice water, పుల్లనీళ్లు, పులిసినగంజి.

(p. 513) taruvāṇi , తరవాణి or తర్వాణి tarurāṇi. [Tel.] n. Sour gruel, fermented rice water పుల్లకలి, పులినీళ్లు, పులిసినగంజి.

(p. 748) pāvili or పావలి pāvili. [Tel.] n. The herb called the Thick-leaved Sorrel. Its species are బంకపావిలి, Portulacca crystallina, Rox. ii. 464. and బుడ్డపావిలి Trianthema monogyna, (Heyne). Also గొడ్డుపావిలి, పుల్లపావిలి, పెద్దపావిలి, సన్నపావిలి, కుక్కపావిలి and బొడ్డుపావిలి.

(p. 771) purikolupu puri-kolupu. v. a. To spur on, move, instigate, incite, stir up, rally. మొనయు, ప్రేరేపించు, ఎచ్చరించు, నూలుకొలుపు, పుల్లలుపెట్టు. పురికొస puri-kosa. n. A large poisonous spider or tarantula. Also, a rough kind of twine. పురిగట్టిన puri-gaṭṭina. part. Strong, vigorous. పురిపెట్టు puri-peṭṭu. v. a. To twine or twist. పురియెక్కించు puri-y-ekkinṭsu. v. a. To incite. పురివిచ్చు puri-vitsṭsu. v. a. To untwist or unravel a thread. v. n. To separate, withdraw, retreat. వేరగు, వీడిపోవు. పురులోము puru-lōmu. (పురులు+ఓము.) v. n. To be enraged, క్షాత్రము మొరయించు.

(p. 773) puli or పుల్ల puli. [Tel.] adj. Acid, sour. పులికడుగు sour washings, i.e., water in which raw rice has been washed and is then left to ferment. పులికూడు food that has turned sour. పులికాపు puli-kāpu. n. A mixture of tamarinds in water with which copper or brass images are scoured. పులిగంజి sour gruel. పులిగడుగు puli-gaḍugu. v. a. To wash. (కడుగు) pearls, &c. in (పులి) acid, to restore their brilliancy To scour, burnish. 'నలువురిమును నీగతిమతి నిలుపుమహాత్ములకు నాత్మనిర్మలమగుచో, పులిగడిగినట్లురాగా, దులసంగతిచేతమున్ను దూషితమైనన్.' Prabōdha chandrōd. ii. 108. పులిగాయము puli-gāyamu. n. A scar. ఆరినమచ్చ, పుంటిమచ్చ. పులిచంచలము puli-chinṭsa-lamu. n. A medicinal plant. అగ్నిజిత్తు. పులిచింత or పులిచంచెలి puli-chinta. n. Yellow wood sorrel, Oxalis corniculata. Linn. Ainsl. ii.324. చుక్రిక. పులిచెలిక a fresh field, one lately left fallow. పులితేనుపు, పులితేన్పు, పులితేపు or పులిత్రేపు puli-tēnupu. n. Acid belching, అజీర్ణపుతేపు. పులినీళ్లు raw rank fluid, serum that oozes from a sore. పులిమెట్టు puli-meṭṭu. The sediment of water in which raw rice has been washed. తేర్చిన కడుగుయొక్క అడుగుది. పులియు puliyu. v. n. To turn sour. పులియ, పులియాకు or పుల్లాకు puliya. n. A leaf on which one's food has been taken, విస్తరాకు. పులియబారు Same as పులియు. పులివెలగచెట్టు puli-velagacheṭṭu. n. A species of wood apple. పులివరుగు puli-varugu. n. Dried and sour fruits, pickled fruit, పులియబెట్టిన వరుగు. పులిహోరు pulihōru. [Kan.] n. Rice dressed with acid sauce, పులి అన్నము.
