(p. 88) alaru alaru. [Tel.] v. n. To shine, glitter, be splendid. To rejoice, or be pleased. ప్రకాశించు, సంతోషించు, ఒప్పు. 'సురాసురులకు జాలవిచిత్ర మైయలరెగాక.' N. ii. 208. అలరు alaru. [Tel.] n. A flower, blossom. పువ్వు, Joy. సంతోషము. అలరుచు or అలరించు alaruṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To please, gratify. సంతోషపెట్టు. అలరుబోడి or అలరుబోని alarubōḍi. [Tel.] n. A woman. స్త్రీ. అలరువిల్తుడు alaru-viltuḍu. [Tel.] n. He who has a bow of flowers, Cupid. మన్మథుడు. అలరారు alarāru. [Tel. అలరు+ఆరు] v. n. To shine, glitter. To rejoice, or be pleased. ప్రకాశించు, ఉల్లసించు. 'మానసంబలరార.' N. i. 35.

(p. 90) alli alli. [Tel.] n. The water plant called Nymphœa alba. అల్లికాడ is peduncle or flower stalk. అల్లిపువ్వు the flower of this water plant. ఉత్పలభేదము. ఆకాశపు అల్లి Menyanthes cristata, a water plant. అల్లి Nymphœa Lotus, a variety with a red flower. Rox. ii. 260, says. 'అల్లి is Memecylon Edule: a wild shrub, like broom, with beautiful fragrant flowers in bunches.' దాని ఒళ్లు అల్లికాడవలెనున్నది her body is like the stem of a water lily, she is very chilly. అల్లిరాగులు the fruit of the blue lotus.

(p. 121) āripuvvuceṭṭu āri-puvvu-cheṭṭu. [Tel.] n. A tree (Cristea tomcutosa.) ధాతకి.

(p. 167) ummetta or ఉమ్మెత ummetta. [Tel.] n. The thorn apple (Datura) a Indian night shade; దుత్తూరము. Ainslie. i. 442. తెల్ల ఉమ్మెత్త Datura meterl. నల్ల ఉమ్మెత్త Datura fastuosa. ఉమ్మెత్త పువ్వు గిన్నె a cup shaped like the flower of this plant. ఉమ్మెత్త పురుగు a clamorous cricket that lives on this plant.

(p. 187) ettu ettu. [Tel.] n. 1. Height. ఉన్నతము. 2. Weight: బరువు, తూనిక. The weight of a quarter of a maund, i. e., two viss, or, six pounds and a quarter రెండువీసెలకొలది. (A. v. 96.) A wreath of flowers. పువ్వుటెత్తు, పుష్పసరము. A move at chees చదరంగపుఎత్తు; hence (metaphorically) a contrivance, a trick, ఉపాయము; an effort. ప్రయత్నము. ఎత్తులమారి a clever man. ఎత్తుకట్టు or ఎత్తుచూచు to weigh, to try. ఎత్తుకు ఎత్తు a Roland for an Oliver, one device against another. ఎత్తు ettu adj.
