A respectful oblation to gods or to venerable men, of rice, darbha-grass, flowers, &c., with water, or of water only. పూజార్థార్హజలాదికము. అర్ఘ్యపాత్ర a vessel for this. అర్ఘ్యపాద్యాదులు the same with the addition of water for the feet, &c అష్టార్ఘ్యములు the 8 kinds of offerings, viz., పెరుగు, తేనె, నెయ్యి, అక్షతలు, గరిక, నువ్వులు, దర్భ, పువ్వులు. అర్ఘ్యము adj. Venerable, deserving worship. పూజకు తగిన, యోగ్యమైన.

(p. 297) kuriyu kuriyu. [Tel.] v. n. To rain, to fall, as dew. వానకురియుచున్నది it is raining. కురియు or కురిపించు or కురియించు kurip-inṭsu. v. a. To shower, to cause to rain. వర్షించు. పువ్వులవానకురిపించిరి they showered down flowers. నిప్పులు కురిపించు to rain coals, i.e., be wroth.

(p. 299) kuluku kuluku. [Tel.] v. n. To move gracefully. To put on pretty airs, or attitudinize. To play tricks. To bloom. To be melodious. శృంగారముగా కుదులు. పారావతంబకులికెడి పలుకులు the melodious notes of the dove. కులుకుపువ్వులు beautiful flowers. ఏమికులుకుతుంది how pretty she is! కరుణారసము కులుకుకన్నులు eyes beaming with kindness, or bright with affection. కులికిన pert, saucy. కులుకు v. a. To move, or shake. To rub over. ఫుయు. To pour or sprinkle పోయు, వేయు. n. Grace, elegance, charm, loveliness. Harmony in music, శృంగారచేష్ట, శృంగారపుకుదిలిక, ఒయ్యారము, విలాసము, కులుకులాడి a belle, a pretty woman ఒయ్యారకత్తె. కులుకు adj. Fine, pretty, graceful, Harmonious, melodious. సొగసైన.

(p. 307) kempu kempu. [Tel.] n. A ruby. పద్మరాగము. Redness ఎరుపు. కెంపు the red metal, i.e., copper (used by goldsmiths in this sense.) కెంపులు the red petals of a plantain flower అరిటిపువ్వులోని యెర్రనిమొగ్గలు. A. v. 30. కెంపుకంటి kempu-kanṭi. n. The red-eyed bird, i.e., the black Cuckoo కోయిల. కెంపుగాము the red planet (గాము) i.e., Mars. కెంబట్టు kem-baṭṭu. [కెంబట్టు (కెంపు+పట్టు.] n. Red silk.

Slight, little. అల్పము. గోటికన్ను the quick of the nail. గోరుగల్లు or గోరుగొండి or గోర్లొండి gōru-gallu. n. An instrument for cutting the nails. గోరుగాలము gōru-gālamu. n. A kind of fishhook made of iron wire. గోరుచిక్కుడుకాయ gōru-chikkuḍu-kāya. n. The bean called Dolichos fabæformis. Rox. iii. 316. గోరుచిరణము gōru-chīra-ṇamu. n. A chisel with a bent edge. కొనయుండు వంపుగల ఉలి. గోరుచుట్టు gōru-ṭsuṭṭu. n. A whitlow. గోరుచుట్టుపై రోకటిపోటు a blow from a rice pounder on a whitlow, i.e., trouble upon trouble. గోరులి or గోరు ఉలి gōruli. n. A gouge, or round-bladed chisel. గోరువెచ్చ gōru-veṭsṭsa. n. and adj. Lukewarm, tepid, partly warm. గోరొత్తు gōr-ottu. v. a. To pinch. n. Pinching.

(p. 601) duddu duddu. [Tel.] n. The pericarp or centre bulb of a lotus: తామర పువ్వులోని దిమ్మె, కర్ణిక. A mark on a letter written on a palm leaf, తాటాకుజాబుమీది చంద్రిక. A sort of ear ornament worn by women. ఒక విధమైన చెవికమ్మ. adj. Coarse, not fine. False, అసత్యము. దుద్దుపెట్టు to evade, elude. దుద్దెక్కు duddekku. v. n. To excel. అతిశయించు. BD. i. 910. ఇట్లు చేయడానకు వానికేమి దుద్దుపట్టినది (అనగా దురద) what could bewitch him to do this? దుద్దుకంబళి or దుద్దుగొంగళి duddu-kambaḷi. n. A sort of woollen cloth.

Vish. viii. 399. A thief in a candle. పువ్వురాయి a golden ball or ornament on a pagoda. BD. vii. 754. A proverb says వానిశిఖపువ్వు తుంపు వాడులేడు, i.e., no one can lay a finger upon him. P. iii. 91. ఔదల పువ్వువాడక మునుపే before his garland loses its bloom, i.e., with perfect ease. plu. పువ్వులు or పూలు. పూలవాన a slight shower, a few drops. పువ్వాటు puv-vāṭu. (పువ్వు+వాటు.) n. 'Like a flower' - i.e., waving or rocking backwards and forwards. పువ్వువలె కదలుట. పువ్వార puv-vāra. (పువ్వు+వార.) n. The blossoms of a palm tree. The inner part of fish's gills. పువ్వారుబోడి puvv-aru-bōḍi. n. A woman who is a beautiful as a flower. పువ్విలు puv-vilu. [పువ్వు+విలు.] n. The bow of flowers: Manmadha's weapon. పువ్విలుకాడు or పువ్విలుతుడు puv-vilu-kaḍu. n. An epithet of Manmadha. పువ్వుచిచ్చు or పువ్వుచేప puvtu-chiṭsṭsu. n. A large fish called the Veral. A species of Chuetonon: Russell's plate. 78. పువ్వుబోడి or పువ్వుబోణి puvvu-boḍi. n. A nymph, lady, fair woman. పువ్వుముడుపు or పూలముడుపు puvvu-muḍupa. n.
