(p. 42) atti atti. [Tel.] The glomerous fig tree, ficus glomerata or country figtree, ficus racemosa. మేడిచెట్టు. అత్తికాయ. its fruit. అత్తికల్లు the juice that flows from its root: This tree has no apparent blossoms; hence అత్తిమానుపూచినట్టు denotes 'about as likely as milk from a stone.'

(p. 777) puṣpamu pushpamu. [Skt.] n. A flower. పువ్వు. Menses, స్త్రీరజస్సు. పుష్పంధయము pushpandhagamu. n. A bee. తుమ్మెద. పుష్పకము pushpakamu. n. A chariot, a car, or stately conveyance used by Kūbēra or Krishna. కుబేరవిమానము, కృష్ణునితేరులలో నొకటి. పుష్పకేతువు, పుష్పధన్వుడు or పుష్పశరుడు pushpa-ketuva. n. An epithet of Manmadha. పుష్ఫదంతము pushpa-dantamu. n. The name of the elephant that is supposed to support the earth at the North-west corner. పుష్పపాము pushpa-pāmu. n. A certain snake. resembling the one given in Russell's serpents. 2. 5. పుష్ప మంజరి pushpa-manjari n. A bouquet of flowers. పూగుత్తి. పుష్పమంజరులు pushpa-manjarulu. n. A sort of grain. A. i. 75. The nectar of honey of flowers, పూదేనె. పుష్పలావిక pushpa-vantula. n. The 'Luminaries:' i.e., the sun and the moon,. సూర్య చంద్రులు. పుష్పవతి or పుష్పిణి pushpa-cati. n. A menstruous woman. ఋతుమతి, భాండదూమైనస్త్రీ, రజస్వల, ముట్టుది. పుష్పవనము or పుష్పవాటిక pushpa-vanamu. n. A flower garden. పూదోట. పుష్పవర్షము or పుష్పవృష్టి pushpa-varshamu. n. Lit: a shower of flowers, a poetical phrase for the strewing or scattering of flowers on joyful occasions. Colloquially, it means a slight or vernal shower: a mere sprinkling of rain. పుష్పసమయము pushpa-samayamu. n. Spring, the season of flowers. పుష్పించు pushpinṭsu. v. n. To flower, to bloom. పూచు, వికసించు. పుష్పితము pushpilamu. adj. Flowered. పూచిన.

(p. 778) pūci or పూచికగడ్డి pūchi. [Tel.] n. A sort of long stiff grass of which brooms are made, Aristia setocea. తృణభేదము.

(p. 778) pūcī or పూచి pūchī. [H.] n. Responsibility పూచీ నామీద లేదు I am not responsible for it. పూచీపడు pūchī-paḍu. v. n. To undertake the responsibility. హాత్పూచీలెక్కలు accounts necessary for current business. పూచీపట్టు or పూచిపట్టు pūchī-paṭṭu. v. n. To be bent upon or firmly resolved, to persist.పూనుకొను. 'పాండవమధ్యముండు పదమూడు సంవత్సరంబులు పూచిపట్టికయ్యంబునకు వచ్చె నతనిలావును బీరంబును లోకంబునకెక్కి యున్నయది.' M. VI. iv. 206. 'వీడెసైంధవుండు వీనిచుట్టునుగృప, శల్యగురుతనూజ సోమదత్త కర్ణకర్ణసుతులుకావలి యున్నారు పోటుమగలు గాన పూచిపట్టి.' M. VII. iii. 179.

(p. 778) pūcu pūṭsu. [Tel.] v. n. To flower, bloom, blossom, bud, shoot out, open or expand, పుష్పించు. To have a bad mark, as a horse. To become sapless or weak, నిస్సారమగు. నాలుకపూచినది the tongue furred. కన్నులు పూచినవి the eyes became discoloured by disease. పూచిన బట్టలు spotty clothes, which shew odd marks although washed, అకస్మికముగా తెల్లబట్టలలో బడే నల్లచుక్కలు. A. v. 127. 'పూచిన మావులు' horses that have unlucky marks, కొరగానిమచ్చలుగల గుర్రములు.

(p. 911) bōde , or బోదియ bōde. [Tel.] n. The trunk of a tree, ప్రకాండము. The bulging part of anything. The pediment or chapter of a pillar, స్తంభముమీద దూలముకిందనుండేది. Also, a runnel or small channel for watering trees. మళ్లకుకట్టేకాలువ. 'పూచిన యొక్క పోకమనుబోదియజేరి.' Swa. ii. 33. 'అరుగులుసున్నంపుటెరమంటి పట్టెలుతీర్చినగోడలుతేజరిల్ల. నిండుసున్న పుపూతనెరచాలుబోదెలు దిద్దినదేవరమిద్దెవర.' H. i. 167. 'మిద్దెలో బోదియమీదనున్న తలపొందుగదీసుకరమ్మటంచు.' ib. i.224. బోదెకొయ్య a piece of wood for a doorstep, గడపకిందికమ్మి.

(p. 1152) vānaspatyamu vānas-patyamu. [Skt. from వనస్పతి.] n. A tree which bears to blossoms and fruit; as the mango, Eugenia, &c. పూచికాచేచెట్టు. A tree which bears fruit without flowering is called వనస్పతి.
