(p. 973) mānamu mānamu. [Skt.] n. A measure of any kind, కొలత, ప్రమాణము. Pride, arrogance, or indignation, చిత్తాన్నత్యము, గర్వము. Civility, honor. గౌరవము, Self respect, a sense of honor or dignity. modesty. The pudenda. స్త్రీ పురుషుల యొక్క మరుగైన అవయవము. A system or method. సౌరమానము the solar system of astronomy. బార్హన్పత్యమానము the system described by బృహస్పతి. 'రత్న కటకఝణంఝణ స్ఫూర్తితాళమానములుకొలుప.' Swa. ii. 31. టీ తాళమానములు, తాళప్రమాణములు. కాలమానము the state of the weather, the nature of the season. అతనిమానముతీసిరి they disgraced or exposed him. మానముపోయిన తర్వాత ప్రాణమెందుకు what is the good of living after losing one's 'character?' మానధనులు those whose good name is their wealth. మానహీనులు those who are devoid of character or of self respect. మానన Same as మన్నన (q. v.) మాననీయము māna-nīyamu. adj. Venerable, honourable, పూజ్యమైన, మన్నింపదగిన. మానభంగము māna-bhangamu. n. Disgrace, dishonor, అవమానము. మానవతి māna-vati. n. A modest woman, మానముగల ఆడుది. మానస్థానము māna-sṭhānamu. n. The pudendum muliebre. మర్మస్థలము. మానస్థుడు māna-sthuḍu. n. A man of respectability or character. మర్యాద గలమనిషి. మాని māni. adj. Respectable. మానస్థుడైన.

(p. 975) mānyamu mānyamu. [Skt.] adj. Respectable, venerable. పూజ్యమైన, సమ్మానింపదగిన. n. A living: a glebe-land granted by a ruler on quit rent or on various favourable tenures. సర్వమాన్యము land entirely free of rent. అర్థమాన్యము land which pays only half the usual rent. విపరమాన్యము a glebe-land granted in exchange for another. మాన్యగాడు or మాన్యదారు one who enjoys a మాన్యము. మాన్యుడు mānyuḍu. n. A respectable or honorable man. పూజ్యుడు. One worthy of respect.

(p. 1118) vandanamu vandanamu. [Skt.] n. An obeisance, salutation, అభివాదనము, నమస్కారము, Praise, స్తుతి. Thanks. వందనమిడు or వందనముచేయు vandanam-iḍu. v. n. To honour, salute, bow to. వందనమాల vandana-māla. n. A garland hung over a gate or carved in stone trellis. ద్వారమందు కట్టినతోరణము. వందారువు or వందారుడు vandāruvu. n. One who salutes or pays homage. నమస్కారము చేయువాడు. వంది vandi. n. A herald, bard, panegyrist. ప్రాతఃకాలమందు రాజులను మేలుకొలిపేవాడు, స్తుతిచేసి జీవించువాడు, బట్టువాడు. వందించు vandinṭsu. v. a. To praise, స్తుతించు. వందితుడు vandintuḍu. n. One who is praised or saluted, స్తుతింపబడినవాడు, నమస్కరింపబడినవాడు. వంద్యము vandyamu. adj. Honourable, venerable, worthy or regard Lauded or laudable. కొనియాడదగిన, పూజ్యమైన. 'సకలలోకైకవంద్యంబు సకలసుజన, చిత్తరంజనకారణంబుత్తమంబు.' Vish. i. 31. వంద్యుడు vandyuḍu. n. One who is worthy to be praised. పూజ్యుడు లోకవంద్యుడు fit to be praised or extolled by the whole world.

(p. 1269) saṃ or సమ్ sam. [Skt.] prefix. When used with Skt. nouns and adjectives, it means beautiful, చక్కని. Much, very, మిక్కిలి. Places before verbs, it means Well, చక్కగా. See. సంక్షోభము, సంక్షోభించు, సంఘటిల్లు, సంచరించు, సంచలించు, సంతుష్టి, సందర్శించు, సంపూర్ణము, సంపూర్తి, సంప్రాప్తి, సంప్రీతి, సంయుక్తము, సంయుతము, సంయోగము, సంరక్షించు, సంస్తుతి, &c. It also means With, together with. సమంచితము worshipped, revered, పూజ్యమైన. సమధికము exceeding, abundant, plentiful, ఎక్కువైన, మిక్కుటమైన, మిక్కిలి అధికమైన. సమన్వితము joined, united, combined, కూడుకొన్న. సంయుక్తమైన. సమర్పించు to give to the great, to offer presents to superiors. పూజ్యులకు ఇచ్చు. సమర్పితము offered, presented, given to superiors, పూజ్యులకు ఇవ్వబడ్డ. సమర్పణ giving to superiors, a thing presented to the great, an offering, పూజ్యులకు ఇయ్యడము పూజ్యులకు ఇచ్చిన వస్తువు. సమవధానంబుతో attentively, జాగ్రతతో. సమాకర్షి far spreading, as scent. సమాకీర్ణము dishevelled, shed, scattered, sprinkled, intersprersed, చల్లబడ్డ, వెదచల్లబడ్డ. సమాగతము that which is come right, చక్కగావచ్చిన; got, obtained, పొందిన. సమాగమము union, junction; a coming, arrival. coming together, meeting, assembling. చేరడము, కూడడము. కలియడము. రావడము. సమాదరము respect, esteem, honour, సన్మానము, మర్యాద. సమాదృతము respected, esteemed, సన్మానించబడ్డ. గొప్పచేయబడ్డ. సమాశ్లిష్టము embraced, కౌగిలించుకొన్న. సమాశ్వాసము consolation, condolence, soothing, comforting, సాంత్వనము, ఓదార్చడము. సమిద్ధము shinning, glowing, blazing, ప్రకాశమానమైన. 'సముదీర్ణవాహుదర్పోజ్వలులైన పుత్రులు.' M. XV. ii. 185. సముద్గతము produced, born, పుట్టిన, ఉత్పన్నమైన. సముద్గమము birth, production, ఉత్పత్తి, కలుగడము, సముద్దండము violent, fierce, ప్రచండమైన, సముద్యతము ready, prepared, సిద్ధమైన. సముద్ధతము rude, ill mannered, misbehaved, మోట, పెడసరమైన, ధూర్తమైన. సముద్ధతి ill behaviour, effrontery, audacity, misbehaviour, ధుర్తత, దుర్మార్గము. 'తనరొమ్ముకరసముద్ధతి గ్రుద్దుకొనుచు.' Sar. (p. 1282) sambhāvana or సంభావనము sam-bhāvana. [Skt.] n. Honor, esteem, respect, worship. A present, reward, prize gift. Vulgarly, alms or money distributed among Brahmins, సన్మానము, గౌరవము, పూజ, దక్షిణ. సంభావనీయము sam-bhāvan-īyamu. adj. Honorable, worshipful. సన్మానింపదగిన, గౌరవింపదగిన, పూజ్యమైన. సంభావనీయుడు sambhāvan-īyudu. n. He who is venerable or honored. పూజనీయుడు. లోకసంభావనీయులు all-honoured persons. సంభావించు sam-bhāvinṭsu. v. a. To honor, esteem, venerate. గౌరవించు, మర్యాదచేయు, సన్మానించు. సంభావితము sam-bhav-itamu. adj. Honored, respected. సమ్మానింపబడిన (Colloquially,) Proper, fit, suitable. యుక్తము, విహితము. సంభావితుడు sam-bhāv-ituḍu. n. He who is honored. పూజితుడు. సంభావ్యము sam-bhāv-yamu. adj. Fit to be praised, honorable, worthy of respect.

(p. 1291) sattamamu sat-tanamu. [Skt.] adj. Best, most excellent, most pure, very holy. మరీమంచి, మిక్కిలిశ్రేష్ఠమైన, పూజ్యమైన, సత్తముడు sat-tamuḍu. n. The best or most excellent of men. అందరికంటె మంచివాడు. అందరికంటె పూజ్యుడు, శ్రేష్ఠుడు.
