(p. 252) karuḍu karuḍu. [Tel.] n. A lump, mass, clot. ముద్ద. A turf. The snuff of a wick. A wave, a ripple. A daily account or day book. దినవహి. పెంటికరుడు the lesser or female surf, being the one nearest shore. పోతుకరుడు the male surf being the furthest. పిండికరుడు a piece of bread, or dough. కరుడుకట్టు karuḍu-kaṭṭu. To conglomerate or form in lumps.

(p. 430) ceralāḍu or చెర్లాడు cheral-āḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To move. సంచరించు. To spread (as smoke) వ్యాపించు. To wallow or play in water. To frisk, gambol. To play with, to sport with, క్రీడించు. చెల్లాటముచేయు. చెరలాట, చెరలాటము or చెర్లాటము cheral-āṭamu. n. A game, sport, ఆట. Moving about సంచరించుట, విహారము. (p. 784) peṇṭa penṭa. [Tel.] n. A heap, as of dirt, sweepings of manure. ఎరువు. Ash, a dunghill. పీనుగుపెంటలు heaps of corpses. పెంటకట్టు to manure land, to dung a field by penning sheep or goats in it. పెంటకై మందకట్టు, గెత్తముపెట్టు, మందఆపు. పెంటపట్టు or పెంట penṭa-paḷḷu. n. An enclosure in which a herd of cattle or a flock of sheep are kept, పసులులోనగు వానిదొడ్డి. Also, a suburb or village, పేట; as రోళ్లపెంట, తుమ్ములపెంట, గొల్లపెంట. పెంటి penṭi. n. A female of a bird, animal or plant. పశుపక్ష్యాదులలో నాడుది. adj. Female: smaller. పెంటికోడి a hen. పెంటి అల. See పోతు. పెంటివిద్య feminine accomplishments. పెంటితాడు the female palm tree, ఆడుతాటిచెట్టు. పెంటిక or పెంట్రిక penṭika. [Tel.] n. The dung of sheep, goats, hares, deer, or rats, &c.

(p. 785) peṇṭipaḍu penṭi-paḍu. v. n. To match or equal. To pair. ౛తగూడు, కనగూడు. 'ద్వి మృగపక్షి పశువులు మేతలువదలి, పగలురేయును బెంటిపడి సాయవయ్యె.' L. iii. 136.

(p. 887) bisamu bisamu. [Skt.] n. Fibres, film, as of the water lily. మృణాళము, తామరతూడు, తామరతీగె. 'బిసములారటనందరుబెరికిరొంపి, పోననీళ్లవిదల్చి మోపుగనమర్చి.' M. XIII. iii. 238. బిసకంఠిక bisa-kanṭhika. n. A small crane or water bird. పెద్దపెంటికొక్కెర. బిసప్రసూనము, బిసరుహము or బిసజము bisa-prasūnamu. n. The water lily: literally, that which has sprung from fibres. తామర, పద్మము. బిసభుక్తి bisa-bhukti. n. Lit: That which feeds on lotus films, i.e., a swan. Paidim. iv. 45. (p. 896) beṅga benga. [Tel.] n. Anxiety, sorrowing, pining. మనోవ్యధ, ఏకారిపోవడము. A cry, కూత. బెంగగొను or బెంగపడు benga-gonu. v. n. To pine for, to sorrow for. మనోవ్యాధినిపొందు. బెంగలిడు bengal-iḍu. v. n. To yell, to cry out or shriek in alaram. 'ఉ బెంగలిడంగగెంటియట పెంటిని గానక తేలిపోయి.' Sārang. ii. 3.

(p. 1208) veduru veduru. [Tel.] n. The bamboo. పోతువెదురు the male bamboo. పెంటివెదురు the female bamboo. కాకివెదురు a kind of reed. బొంగువెదురు bongu-veduru. n. The Spring Bamboo of Central, South, and West India. Bambusu arundinacea. (Watts.) వెదరుకంపజిట్ట veduru-kampa-jiṭṭa. n. The bird called the Grass Warbler, or Meadow Wren Warbler, Cisticola cursitans. వెదురుపిచ్చిక veduru-pichchika. n. The bird called the Rose Finch, Loxia totta. వెదరుప్పు, or వెదరుపాలు vedur-uppu. n.
